    Solid and thought-provoking
I’ve been listening to The Farm Report for a few years now, with good reason. Solid, thought-provoking two-way dialog about sustainable agriculture and the good food movement, with compelling sources and a knowledgeable host. Something to think about every time.

Might be good content but terrible language use
Filler words are abundant in the single episode I listen to. I can’t move past the “um”, “right”, and “like” of both the guest and the presenter. It clogs down the conversation in a way that sounds like nails on a chalkboard. With more practice and awareness of the words the podcast might be enjoyable.

    Fact checking need not apply
I just listened to your podcast with Big picture beef. It is complete garbage. Zero facts in the whole show. Absolute garbage. Basically a hour of fear tactic marketing to sell their brand.

The Farm Report is clearly THE source for the future of framing in NYC!

    good work
Have been listening to the Farm Report for years. A great mix of farming, food, people, ideas and experiences. Erin does good work in finding farmers and providing a place for them to tell their stories.

    Smart Show
Every interview is incredibly informative because Erin asks great probing questions. There is much to learn from listening to these podcasts. Like Michael Pollan Erin is making the back story of food available to the public, which is crucial to being an informed consumer and advocate for a sustainable food system. Thank you and more power to you!

    Great Guests!
Another update to my review (I've included my first two below.) The show seems to have either lost its way or just shifted it's focus. It really seems to not be a farm report anymore. It's more of a social justice around food program. It's been months since an actual farmer was interviewed. I think the show is a well made show...I just don't find the content interesting anymore and often find myself skipping a show. Last one I listened to all the way through was with Jim Gerritsen back in October. Here are my previous reviews... I just wanted to update my review for this podcast. I've included my original review below. The show has definitely matured quite a bit. The production issues (i.e. silly sound effects and hosts talking over guests) have definitely improved. The guests are still great and quite informative. My final criticism was that the hosts didn't really connect well with the guests, but that has also improved quite a bit. So, I look forward to the show every week and I hope they just keep on improving. My original review below: From what I've listened to so far (maybe 15 or so shows), the guests have been fantastic! It seems that many of the shows are based on asking farmers (mostly meat producers) ten similar questions or so. I think it's a great idea and the guests do well. The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the hosts and the annoying sounds effets thrown in at times. I think the hosts have a lot of enthusiasm for the topics and the idea of asking different farmers the same questions seems good. I don't think the hosts necessarily connect well with their guests. For instance, talking about DNA of a farm or using the term "flavor profile" with a lifetime pork producer is awkward. I felt embarrassed for the host and the guest. Rather than using terms that a select few wine connoisseurs would know, use normal terms and words. So, rather than asking about "flavor profiles", how about asking about "interesting or unique flavors of your product?" My second criticism is more on the production end. First of all, hosts and guests often talk over each other, so I am guessing that the guests can't hear the host well if they are speaking. Again, that makes for awkward and frustrating moments. And finally, get rid of the cougar, cop car, clapping and other annoying sound effects. When I did radio in college in the basement of the student center, I was psyched about the sound effects cd too...but this just takes a really top-notch show in to the world of crappy radio. I am hopeful that this show gets a bit more polished as it matures. I think that if the hosts can bring their end up to the quality of their guests, it'll be a 5-star show and I look forward to hearing it!

    A Fantastic Show!
If you care about food, then you should care about agriculture, and if you care about agriculture, then you should listen to this show. The farm report explores, with impressive depth and curiosity, the stories behind the food we eat, many of which I'll bet you've never heard before. Erin (the host) navigates deftly across a wide range of topics, from the challenges and triumphs of sustainable farming, to the thorny politics of a national (and global) agricultural system, to the intimate stories of the people who produce our food. I've never listed to this show without learning something new. Daniel Meyer
