I'm a big podcast guy, but lately I was going through a rut where I couldn't find anything that would hold my attention. I got back into gaming recently and wanted a show that I could listen to and just tune out the world for a bit. Well I found that show in weekly games chat. Their chemistry is genuine and their discussions range from light comedic barbs at each other to really well thought out friendly debates. Each brings their own personality to the show and that's what keeps the show dynamic. This is a show that every gamer should check out.

100% my favorite gaming podcast! I tend to listen to a lot of the “big” gaming podcasts when I’m out walking, and it always makes me happy when a new episode drops! It’s clear they’re just doing it for the love of the games! Big fan of the updated format - and the variety of games they discuss! Though, I do kinda miss the “topic time” intro music.

This is not a podcast about video games. This is not a podcast about anything. I know the joke about podcasts is hosts who have nothing to say just faff around, but this is an extreme example of that.

Great show

When you ask for a lighthearted and great experience with three friends playing games. This is what I recommend you, they are so informative of news every week and keep you constantly laughing like you are there with them. I’ve watched for almost two years now, and they are my go to podcast every week.

If you’re looking for the best podcast in gaming media, yeah your search is over. WGC is hands down the best gaming podcast to ever exist. I found these guys years ago, and I have been locked in ever since. I’ve never once been disappointed by an episode. The trio makes you feel just like one of the boys. Each of the hosts has a clear view and style of gaming that makes for an equal parts entertaining and intelligent discussion. These episodes actually give a clear, spoiler-free review for anyone looking to buy a new game. During the intros they do sometimes talk quite a bit about sports, but (and this is coming from someone who’s never really cared about sports) I found that the hosts are just so downright lovable that I listen anyway, enjoying every second just as much as the Topic Time (bring it back please. Bois, you know you got too😂) I’ve never seen another gaming podcast to have it’s own lore like this. The show just keeps getting better. Right on, you Richards! — Tucker

these guys stall for AGES before even remotely starting to talk about the game of the episode. additionally, they don’t even sound that educated on most of the games they’re talking about. especially the episode on genshin impact. genshin impact has the most generous pity system out of most gacha games, you don’t need to pay at all, you just need to have luck and you get a ton of primogems for just playing the game. it’s not as hard as they make it sound and they make it sound like everything is behind a paywall. i understand that they brand themself as a gaming podcast, but they should at least know about the games they talk about.

This guys are unapologetically anti-consumer and promote companies that treat players the worst. Otherwise, it’s nonsense on Sports and Movies, avoid if you aren’t an Activision shareholder or looking for a new sports show.

They do their homework like nerds, but are still relatable guys. They deliver “top notch” every week. I first listened for games, skipping intros, but as u get to know the hosts, I started wanting to get caught up. Great show, keep it up.

I’ve been listening to Weekly Games Chat for about a year, and it’s become one of my “must listen” podcasts the day it drops. Honest and bright-sided reviews and fantastic inside jokes make these guys endearing. Their banter makes me reminisce about why I fell in love with video games in the first place. Game on, fellas.

I just started listening but really enjoy these folks - they’re knowledgeable, go deep into the games plus and minus, irreverent but not too snarky/in love with themselves, good sense of humour, and seem to enjoy each other. Keep it up!

Guys are funny. Tons of jokes and in-depth talk of the games they played. They persuaded me to buy Luigi Mansion 3 after I finish Astral Chains. Good graphics, adorable animations, fun boss fights, I need it. Good podcast.

Edit after listening for 3 years: I haven't missed an episode; it's my favorite podcast. Everything from my original review is still true. NOTE: don't be turned off by the negative reviews talking about right wing propoganda. What they fail to mention is that these guys don't always agree with one another, and that is completely okay with each of them. I'd go so far as to say they're an exemplary model of how disagreements should be handled: with civility and respect. I don't agree with them on everything, but I always feel as if they're willing to listen to each other (and listeners) and not devolve into the standard knuckle-dragging vomiting of opinions that happen, well, everywhere these days. If you're an extreme liberal or conservative, you'll be turned off from time to time. If, however, you like engaging discussion and civil disagreement, then continue reading for why I think you may love this podcast. Original review: As a 40-yr old gamer who stopped gaming for a decade, my podcast time is limited, but WGC is a highlight of my week. Chris, Jon, and Shawn are each uniquely awesome. From Chris's analytical conversation starters to Jon's thought-provoking anecdotes, to Shawn's outbursts of 90's rock song hooks, WGC is a well rounded gaming discussion that never ceases to entertain and delight. After a few episodes, you'll belly laugh at their inside jokes (Nein! Nein! Nein!, Oooooooo!!!!!, Your mom's box!, Is it anecdotal??, Yer waaahf!!!!, It's beenawhile...); auspiciously, the humor is a result of comradery rather than contrivance (unlike so many other podcasts where clowning is the not-so subtle agenda). It really is like sitting in Chris's living room and overhearing three longtime friends talk about their gaming passion with vigor, balance, and a mutual respect for one another, even when there are disagreements. They cover all the platforms evenly with a well balanced mix of insight, news, and mom jokes. Their rabbit trails are often amusing, always absorbing, and never a waste of air waves. If you are a gamer who appreciates a smart conversation about the latest gaming news with the occasional sesquipedalian fodder sprinkled into the mix, prepare to be hooked on WGC. These guys have all the topics on video games that are good but I wish they whould get a little more focused on the topic but not off track to much in the beginning and be somewhat Less inappropriate (they are all ways never do that but that have 1 time or 2) but a must listen to if you like any of the games they have a episode on.

Overall, I love listening to game topics, but some podcasts are pretty dry and straight to the point. This podcast does the opposite, and these guys are so funny! A must hear!

Pro's: Smart charismatic funny men talk video games. Occasionally insightful and always entertaining. Con's: The libertarian talking points are frequent enough to be grating and masturbatory responses to listener emails will often dismiss criticism in ways that clearly misinterpret the intent of the writer. This review will likely be similarly dismissed as an attack on the creator's opinions (it is) and their freedom to voice their opinions (it is not). 1 Star because I don't believe all opinions are worthy of equal consideration and using such an absurd ideal of equality to defend your integrity and reject criticism is frankly insulting to anyone (myself included) who writes in to voice disapproval. To clarify, it's okay when people disagree, but the creator's response to listener disagreement is not okay.

My new favorite gaming podcast, if you want straight game reviews and talk listen because it is awesome.

Had to skip ahead 30 mins before any actual talk about a video game. All the terrible jokes referencing song lyrics fall flat on their face. They annoy the listener interrupting each other as the compete for the spotlight. They seem to be pretty ill informed on the games they are talking about. Hard pass on these boneheads.

Don’t listen to this show if you aren’t ready to buy games you initially had no interest in. Don’t listen to this show if you just want 10 second news headlines. Definitely don’t listen to this show if you dislike well-reasoned opinions and critiques of video games and the games industry. What a bunch of Richards.

The show certainly has some great moments; the team clearly have great chemistry and a tremendous passion for games. I started listening more than a few episodes ago and have found there to be some great moments. As for the caveat, make note that one member of the team dives head first into any chance to insert right wing ideology into the discourse. It results in the discussion being derailed while the other members try unsuccessfully to steer him back to neutral. If this is not a concern for you or you can shake off these strange turns, there is a lot to like here.

These three guys are like the three flavors of Neapolitan ice cream. They are each at their most awesome when they’re all together, cracking jokes and giving highly insightful reviews of all the games they play. Never stop you guys. #ishbenawaaaa

These guys are fun to listen to. Great energy, knowledge and chemistry. Hard to find funny gaming podcasts like that. Please never stop. Keep that union talk coming—never be afraid to speak your mind! If the small-minded can’t take opposing opinions, that’s their problem, not yours.

Love the beginner banter, but it may not be for everybody. However, they usually talk games and movies in the beginning. But the whole show is solid. I love it and they cover a wide array of games and genres. Hosts have great chemistry and make me laugh a lot. Also a pretty clean show for the most part.

Great guys talking about the most recent releases games, great personalities that always entertain. Absolutely worth your time.

Been listening to these guys for a couple months now. The first 20 minutes or so isn’t always interesting, but the discussion about the games and following gaming news is very informative and at times hilarious. I would give a 9 (Nein!) out of 10, but since this isn’t possible I will round up. Game on!

These girls are producing best gaming podcast out there

Half an hour into an episode, and they’re still making small talk and inside jokes with each other. These guys are not funny, not interesting and most of the time, they have no idea what they’re talking about. Boring, dull, and pointless podcast.
