ChemGirl512Get rid of gen zI enjoy this podcast, but the gen z conversations are such a turn off. The homecoming episode was completely annoying to listen to because they complained about it being for alum (which it is), and kept bringing up their needs for funding. It was a total miss to celebrate the joy that homecoming brings.

AsokahTanoDumb gen zTbh I used to really like TBG. But that episode about gen z and voting was super weird and disappointing. To say you don’t know if you’re going to vote or not is ridiculous considering your platform. I’m a gen z and don’t feel this way at all. It’s actually common sense who to vote for. The black woman. And you want to waste 48 minutes talking about it.. lost a supporter.

Chelsy ElliottSo Empowering of WomenI had the pleasure of listening to “Therapy for Black Women” for the first time and what I will say is I absolutely loved it! I decided to start at the very beginning of the podcast to gain a better understanding of the topics discussed. The topics in the first three episodes I’ve listened to so far definitely targets mental health and self-development for African American Women. Dr. Joy Harden Bradford who is the creator of “Therapy for Black Women “provided so many so many great resources to help maintain a good mental health such as, how to locate a therapist, how to determine what characteristics you want in a therapist, financial options to help afford a therapist, especially if you are on a budget. Dr. Bradford also posted links and provided resources for discounted therapy services. After the podcast she also offers Q&A sessions where you can email her questions pertaining to mental health and she will respond. Dr. Bradford has also created a safe space for this podcast allowing anonymous women to ask questions and share experiences to get advice on what they should do in certain situations to protect their mental health. This made the vibe of the podcast feel warmer and more welcoming. I can honestly say I have found a new podcast to listen to and I will look forward to listening to this podcast every morning moving forward before work.

jemsfirstHost interview skills"Can you talk a little bit about...". This is annoying.

BrimichellexoRacist much?!So this podcast is only for black people? Completely ridiculous that you would call this “therapy for black people”.

shealilbougieLove listening while at work!I’ve listened to almost everyone even those that don’t pertain to my life, and I learn a lot about topics and it has given more perspective and grace for others life and their decisions.

Momochan 26Not a winnerI can’t recommend this to any woman. It is alienating and not helpful. Seek out your own therapist, Ladies.

Kay TimeiaA healing.I started listening from the VERY beginning just last week. I listen to an episode every morning in the morning on my way to take my daughter to school. The fact that i can listen with my daughter and this also helps her navigate her thoughts and emotions and we can’t have an effective conversation about how we are both feeling is beautiful. Thank You Dr.Joy for this amazing podcast 🫶🏽

🩵🦋🩵👋Just a quick question.. Do you have to be black to listen to this if you get what I mean? Sorry if this is a weurd question
-
QueengirlyMixed. There’s a disregard and lack of respect for black women that are Atheists. They’re also underrepresented and often do not get fair treatment anywhere. However that isn’t discussed. Therefore pushing black women into social norms that they don’t resonate with.

Music chick!Session 315I’ve been receiving emails and notifications for a while now but never got around to actually listening to a podcast and some reason I did today and I LOVED it. I remember thinking to myself a while back about how I wished there were some place to talk openly about interracial relationships and marriage. And this was the first episode that popped up! It just reminds me that I am not alone in my thoughts. 🤍 I will be listening from now on.

LetItShiningStarEpisode 254 Women in the WorkplaceToday was the first day I found and started listening to this podcast and it resonated with me so much as I moved out of Atlanta from college to a predominantly white area for my work. This episode gave me some really good insight I feel early on in my career that I can use moving forward. Thank you Dr. Harden Bradford and Dr. Thomas!

Sweetpeaj04Much needed podcast!!As a therapist and a consumer of podcasts of love this content. So informative as well as relatable. Interviews are always well thought out and valuable. Love everything about Therapy for Black Girls!
-
K.mickeyLove the show, not the episode descriptionsAs much as I love the show, I wish the description of each episode was at the top of the text rather than after the description of the show. We know what the podcast is about, but telling us what each episode is about is more important. Too much text to read or scroll past makes me delete the episode. I listen to a lot of podcasts, this is the only one that does this.

Candide4Therapy for Black GirlsDr. Harden Bradford’s podcast is empowering! I’m continually enlightened and inspired by her expertise, topics and guests. Not only does Dr. Harden Bradford’s work help me personally, I share it with my 32 year old daughter and others which exemplifies it’s community impact This gift and resource is invaluable!

BossChick2958493858594👍🏽This podcast is amazing and also the first one I’ve ever reviewed. I’ve learned many a lesson here that’s impacted my personal and professional life. I’m a budding therapist currently getting my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and I use some of the techniques learned here to assist with helping others. Thank you.

San Diego Fan ClubExcellent space to feel understood and comforted by other beautiful womenI’m new and I’m making my way through the podcasts of interest and even some I didn’t think I’d like but I find learning about different topics very valuable. I also have enjoyed the three for Thursday chats, the check ins, book club and the sex talk in September with Goddie (Goody). Definitely will stick with this beautiful community of women who aren’t afraid to say I need help and I don’t have it all together as society pegs us as the strong black woman… We have pain, tears, deep feelings, struggles, wins, love, accomplishments, blessings from God, everything a human being has. We aren’t super human and if we have a tough exterior it’s the way we’ve learned to cope and care for ourselves. Love this podcast and Dr Joy’s “Sister Circle” app. It’s well worth my time and energy to get and give support to fellow sisters of any color.
-
listen to older episodesContent needs refreshGreat podcast when I started listening a few years ago, but now the format is more interviews and sometimes gets a little self-promoty for the guests. But I get why bc BW experts and professionals have little spaces/platforms available to them so this show provides that. But perhaps a spin-off show would be better for that.
-
SoundsLike08This woman is doing god’s work. It’s so valuable. That is all! Kudos to you, Dr. Joy! 💛
-
anjiegrhmThis is a much needed resourceI’m a new listener and so far I love it. I have started listening at the beginning episodes and I find the encouragement and advice very helpful. I also like to read the reviews of podcasts that I am new to. I read a review where the listener said they felt the podcast was racist, and I simply don’t understand how they arrived there. So often as black women we are told we have to include everyone while simultaneously being excluded by everyone. There are plenty of podcasts that cater to other demographics but very few that address the issues, needs and concerns of black women. Please keep doing your podcast as is. As a black woman in my mid forties I’m just now learning how to advocate for myself and that includes finding spaces where I can be my full self and feel valued as a human. I’m only a few episodes in and this is one of those spaces. I appreciate you sharing your expertise with us. It’s very much needed.

LoverforfashionI MISS OLDER CONTENT TOPICSI absolutely still love the podcast but I feel like the topics are lacking lately. I personally love more of the self help topics.

MFarook83Been a fan still a fanUndeniably a MUST for Black women and other women of color.🔥🔥🔥M. Farook
-
imobsessedwithk-popIt’s okayI really like this podcast and the messages it’s giving out but, I see it as racist .Black women aren’t the only females who struggle with things or need to be encouraged, their are many other women who need motivation and inspiration not just African American women. It’s really good just need to work on giving inspiration to other cultures.
-
ColorMeNeshaThank youI love this podcast. I need a therapist like her. If you’re a woman of color. Please listen to this podcast. She touches different topics that women like us faces. I told my mom about this podcast. My momma love this podcast.
