    Inspiring
Really enjoy your podcast! Loved episode 365 and your conversation with Jess Lane. It is so nice to listen to a light-hearted fitness podcast! What really resonated with me was what a fun interview it is, with so many laughs! Plus, tons of amazing takeaways in this episode! Thank you!

    Eh
Why does Erin always sound like she’s a WWE announcer when she’s introducing guests?
  • FrancineFromArthur
    Love it!
Love it, no notes. Been listening for years, it’s silly but reminds me that exercise exists. Stanger and Erin delight 😃

    Old episodes are good
I’ll give it three stars because whenever I need motivation I go back and listen to the old episodes with Eugene and Stanger where it was the traditional format of just asking people about their fitness journey. The pod really fell off when they switched hosts. Maybe not because of her, but just the format changes (I don’t care about fitness movie reviews). It used to give good advice while being very funny, and now it does neither

    Thank you Dumbells!
This podcast inspired me to join a gym and get in shape after 10 years of inactivity! The main reason to listen is that Erin and Stanger are funny and have great chemistry. Also they know a lot about fitness and diet.

    Very interesting
It’s so fun to learn new things with Erin and Stanger. They explain things so well and so easily.

    Best podcast for motivation
I credit Erin and Stanger for keeping me on track with my post-Covid-weight loss and fitness journey. They are motivating, but gentle; they don’t push any specific fad or fitness routine; they prioritize mental health and holistic health; and - bonus! - they are funny. I listen to this podcast most days. Whenever I feel a little down about how hard it is to get in shape or lose weight, I pop on my pods and listen for a bit to remind me that this is actually all about the journey and not so much the destination.

    A Review
Alright. The Dumbbells have been nagging their listeners for reviews harder than NPR does for donations during a goddamn listener drive. Can we stop with this now? I love The Dumbbells! Sometimes trying to learn about fitness can be a drag. It can be dry. It can be guilt inducing. Ryan and Erin make it not only funny and interesting, but also inspiring and informative. I’ve been inspired to try new exercises, and change the way I work out just listening to their takes, as well as their guests. They’re wonderful interviewers to boot! Great podcast. Great people.

Funny podcast abt health and fitness
I’ve found I can only listen to funny podcasts, and thankfully, this qualifies. I love health, fitness, and staying up to date with the latest science, and this podcast covers it. Love yall and pls dont shout this out bc I hate attention and am scared of stalkers kthxbye

    My favorite podcast
You guys are hilarious and so informative! I’ve learned so much from listening over the past few years. One thing I’m wondering if you could shed a little light on us deadlifts. There seems to be a mixed consensus. Some say risk/reward ratio is too high and others say it’s a fundamental when it comes to weight training. Appreciate any input you guys have. Also I love when stranger says train dirty eat clean and live, in betwixt. It’s only happened a few times but I love it😄

    Dumbbells are Funbells
They do an amazing job balancing humor and actual content. There are very down to Earth as well. UPDATE: Erin taking over for Eugene was a great move, even though it is sad Eugene left (happy he is doing well in his career.) The show is everything I said before but also goofier in all the best ways. It is as if, and I mean this in the best way possible, a couple of buff cartoon dogs started hosting a podcast. Day one, every week listener.

    Excellent!
Love The Dumbbells! Funny, motivational, and a good source for new exercise and nutrition ideas. More movie-talk and weird digressions, please! As a new parent, I also love hearing the hosts talk about the personal and family side of fitness.

    Great show, good advice
Been listening for years. Great show and great tidbits to pick up on along the way. Also they do a lot of thorough reviews for products and services I would blow my money but maybe not use

    Top notch!
Updated: the podcast remains really good. It is best for getting people inspired who are looking to figure out their exercise and health program. I have been training for a while and still find something useful most weeks. It’s entertaining EVERY week. These guys are wicked funny and have legitimate fitness advice to share. Highly recommend it for anyone with an interest in fitness and would appreciate some ridiculousness with it.

    Really funny and informative
Between the two hosts I feel like I’m the Stanger of my friend group

    Lovely Fitness
This show has helped me come up with better, healthier fitness goals, while making me laugh at a bunch of nonsense. The recent change in direction with Erin McGown is great!

    New Host is Great!
Listened to the show a bit before, but now, with new co-host Erin McGown, I’m a loyal listener. She’s a great addition. The show is funny, informative and inspirational. Love it.

Terrific podcast. Fun, motivating and informative
I love the podcast. Also love the F-words and hearing about your kids, as well as the random “Stangerisms.” Thank you for the wonderful listens.

    New listener, very impressed
Great podcast with good insight and advice. Found the pod through listening to Gabrus. Now a major fan. Helping with my fitness journey

    I mostly love this!
The f-word has gotten a bit much with Ryan. He flings it out every other word. Makes it hard to listen to. It use to be once in awhile but wow, lately it’s used like the word and. I mean, I know this review is annoying and I’m one listener and you can tell me to drop dead. Just thought I’d let you know how I was feeling. Someone cares, I’m sure. Like my mom. You know what, I’ll call her and complain. F-ing now.

    Hits the perfect tone
Can’t find any other podcast like this out there. A perfect combination of goofiness, motivation & great practical advice. Essential quarantine listening.

    Great Podcast
Great podcast. Makes health and fitness accessible and relatable. Good variety of guests from lifelong fitness people to beginners. Helps me get motivated

    Lovely guys
I worry there is a touch of disordered eating here. I’m not a professional in that field but I’ve seen many gym bros suffer silently through what they later admitted were eating disorders. I hope these guys are ok.

    Better than Mindpump
Got tired of all listening to how dochey the mind pump fitness guys are and started looking for a different fitness podcast. So happy I found this one! overall so much better, good info, and light hearted.

A huge impact on my life
I started listening to this podcast around episode 10 or so, and at the time I wasn’t doing much fitness-wise other than running occasionally. These guys really helped me to understand the importance of strength training, nutrition, and overall mental and physical fitness. Since then I have over two years of CrossFit under my belt (until quarantine started) and invested in a peloton bike (hello #bellbabies) to be able to work out from home. I’ve also found success with intermittent fasting and have a generally better relationship with food. Anyway, if these guys (and guests) weren’t super personable and funny, I probably wouldn’t have kept listening, but I look forward to new episodes and all I can learn about making improvements to my physical and mental health. Thanks!

    Consistently good
One of the few podcasts that I can listen to consistently over the course of the year, and have so for about three years now. Good variation in gas, topics, and they even read and answered one of my questions on air. I honestly wish we could hear more about Stanger’s football career though, I don’t understand why some thing that was such a big part of him and his life can’t be discussed.

    A blessing in disguise
This podcast actually got me back on track and helped me not to dwell on set backs and just focus on getting back up and working hard this podcast truly motivated me thanks guys!!!

    Late review
Somehow I haven’t ever reviewed this! Very fun and engaging podcast. Both Eugene and Stanger are entertaining and knowledgeable, and they’re also very supportive to all their listeners’ needs and questions. I would love to hear Stanger specifically talk about how good of a color heather grape is for hoodies, tank tops, and other apparel!
  • marky_lamby
    Great pod!
New listener here - Idk why it took me so long to check out this podcast (big fan of ActionBoyz), but it’s just what I needed in 2020! Stanger and Eugene have great chemistry as hosts, and are really good at keeping things light and funny while also being genuine and curious about the workout goals of all their guests. Keep it going guys!
  • Nobody Important Here

Fitness Through the Lens of Humor
This has consistently been my favorite podcast for awhile now. I’ve been listening since the early days of the “LIGHT WEIGHT BABYYYYY” prompts, and it’s been great to get to know these two guys (and Erin!) If you like podcasts with a comedy bent, this will be right in your wheelhouse. If you’re an ultra-serious body hack bro looking for Tim Ferris-like things, this is not for you. This show does not take itself seriously. But these dudes are hysterical, and they can talk about movies as much as they want as far as I’m concerned. The first few quarantine episodes were a rough listen (but they’ve gotten smoother), but all the pre-quarantine stuff is gold. All of it.
