Really, it is! John’s stories are fascinating (and sometimes hilarious), but even when it’s just father and son talking, the dynamic is great. I really enjoyed the episodes that went through the books chapter by chapter as well.

I am a “true crime junkie” podcast listener and RARELY go beyond rating the pods...but HAD to add my opinion for this one. Paul and his dad John are great, hilarious even, all at the right moments. I’ve hit pause on the podcast to listen to the book, and it’s just as great. Haven’t finished the book yet, but already purchased the 2nd one. Give em a try, you won’t regret it!

Like the stories, but I think John enjoys listening to himself talk. Takes too long to get through the story. Seems to be a bit of a know-it-all. Don’t like how John interrupts while his son is trying to say something. Give me more of Mom she was straight to the point and great.

Just found this show & cannot wait to binge! Starting with Season 1 & the car wash story is hysterical 😂

Paul and John have such a fun and touching relationship. One of the best podcasts I’ve listened to hands down, I want more!!!

I love the work stories. A few less theatrical trigger warnings would be nice.

It’s hard to keep listening to this. Right when the father gets into his story the son interrupts too much with minute detailed questions that we don’t need to know. Father: so then we go inside and much to our surprise find.... Son: wait, what color pants were you wearing?

I love this podcast so much. Mere words cannot describe the love and warmth I feel for these two men. Sadly, the grosser the story the more I like it. I look forward to reading the book but I love hearing the stories and reactions in their voices. Well done!!!

This was supposed to be a companion for the book ‘Loose Units’ about an Aussie cop written by his son about his days as a copper. Fortunately for us, they have extended the planned one season and continue with the stories. An absolute treat!!

Great dynamic between deadpan ex cop Dad & hipster, sensitive son. Loved the book, loving the podcast even more. A peek under the covers of Sydney policing and forensics during the Wild West years. Thank you for sharing these stories of what was and still is a tough job.

Paul and John are wonderful. I LOVE this podcast. The stories are so well told and the delivery made all the more fabulous because of the father-son interaction. And...John’s deadpan delivery is hilarious.

I can’t believe there aren’t more reviews! We need to get this podcast OUTthere! What an incredibly amusing, heartfelt, and deeply fascinating truecrime/humor podcast! I have thoroughly enjoyed every episode more than once and have read the book AND listened fully to the audiobook! John and Paul are a dynamic team and their chemistry creates a can’t-put-it-down vibe. I hunger for more! Anyone interested at all in true crime, police procedure, Australian law enforcement, and hilarity will be sure to enjoy!

I absolutely love this podcast. John's stories and story telling are just fantastic and Paul's reactions are brilliant. I'm so happy to hear there are a LOT more stories to come from John's time in the Fire Brigade and Forensics!

I have to say that I stopped partway through to check if there’s an audiobook of Loose Units, only to come back disappointed- well, I’m thrilled to hear it’s going to be released next year!!
