The Guardian's Token

13

Starting in Australia and now in the UK, Token is a podcast about marginalised identities. But it's fun - we promise. We talk about race, gender, sexuality, culture, politics and whatever else makes you feel like a token in today's world. The only constants are fun, frank discussion and the freedom to politely ask awkward questions

    Come baaaaack 😭😭
This podcast is wonderful: raw, real, and both hilarious and tender-hearted. I began listening as Season 1 episodes were wrapping up, and even though I loved that season, I have to say that Leah and Freddy together on Season 2 is even better. I still recommend this podcast to anyone I can, and even years after it ended, I am hopeful for a third season. Do yourself a favor, and listen to Token. You won’t regret it.

    No idea what appropriation is
Dating shows and sub woofers are commercial products meant to be sold to a large consumer audience anywhere. Dating shows are a part of Western culture that is meant to be sold, otherwise it wouldn't be so ludicrous, and very recent. They're NOT the same as yoga or martial arts which are practices. And to my knowledge there's no colonial violent history behind sub woofers or the spread of yoga (though tea in itself is a different story). This was an asinine comparison to make and your "oh we'll suffer backlash, but we're out here to have a true conversation, woe is me!" Posturing only makes it worse. Don't feel so sorry for yourself for something that hasn't happened and won't ever happen and maybe like minded listeners won't scoff and turn the podcast off.
