“Cincinnati is still terrible”. Very nuanced thanks

    Rocking the Boat
Have enjoyed for a long time, but I’m sorry Austin is not ready for regular appearances on the big stage. He seems like his lines and “takes” are rehearsed, or sourced from Twitter. Seems like a good dude but he seems to really struggle keeping up with actual football convo, and tends to turn things towards internet culture or takes or memes. Lots of good stuff, and he’s clearly an entertaining dude but these are pretty technical football pods, and it doesn’t feel like he studies the game nearly enough to keep up with the others on the show. Lots of room for improvement, but in the meantime it makes for pretty disjointed and generic conversation

    Dual threat is good!
I love the two hosts for the show dual threat. They know a lot, there are funny. I learn a lot from them. What I like also is they are intelligent! Smart and funny is all a good combo.

EPT is the only reason I subscribe
Extra Point Taken is worth my time. Kapadia and Solak are thoughtful and entertaining. The Dual Threat pod is like an STI that keeps flaring up, when all I wanted was EPT sex.

    Good pod
Great interesting takes go to football pod

    Hosts hate the eagles
Some okay content, but complete lunacy when it comes to discussing the most and least improved in the NFC east. Spending zero time on the eagles and, little time on Dallas and blithely crowning the Giants as the most improved with their 6 whole draft picks. It’s lazy. It’s not good content.

    Ruiz is awful
Extra Point taken is great, but Dual Threat is bad primarily due to Steven Ruiz being completely insufferable. He is unbearable to listen to.

    Up their own a**es
These guys love the smell of their own farts. If you want a podcast that simps for the Chiefs when they look like trash while discrediting legit success from the Broncos, this podcast has the low hanging analysis for you. They misquote stats like it’s their job, for instance “if the bills beat the cowboys and lose their next 3, they still have an 89% chance at making the playoffs”. Garbage, bias commentary. Done trying to make this work. Unfollowed

One of the best shows out there!
By far the best show out there. This, Ringer, The Athletic, and Ross Tucker with Greg Cosell are my staples

    Hit or Miss
It is in the title. They either are productive and talk actual football or they are unproductive and talk about things that don’t matter. Sometimes it takes up half the episode. I think they should take after Bill’s and Ryen’s style more.

    Mostly good
Love EPT, but can’t stand Austin Gale. He sounds like he’s auditioning for first take instead of just doing the pod.

    Extra Point Taken
Thanks Sheil & Ben, tremendous pod!!!

    Dual threat
The most recent episode of dual threat “biggest questions” is the perfect encapsulation of what most of the nfl ringer employee has become. They are far more interested in riffing on jokes about Aaron Rodgers relationship with his family as it pertains to his draft experience and how it forebode something. I’m begging you guys to talk about football and leave opinions on people outside of the analysis. It devalues the podcast.

Love the Ringer, but these hosts are hit or miss
Sheil Kapadia and Ben Solak are tough to listen to. They darts around and repeat themselves. A little hard to follow.

    EPT is 🔥
I hate to do this because EPT is a really good show but it baffles me that Nora continues to have a roll as a regular host on Duel Threat. She not only never says anything interesting, she’s literally a progress stopper to someone else making a good point. She will interrupt with a joke that falls completely flat and the does that insufferable giggle. I don’t even know how I feel about Ruiz because he doesn’t have a competent partner.

    Really Good Pod
Love Extra Point Taken. Ruiz being replaced on Dual Threat would be ideal. He’s just not good at this. I stopped listening to Dual Threat months ago because of him. Nora and Austin would make for a better pod imo.
  • DasCube
    No more Lindsay Jones
I think we’ve all heard enough of her living in Denver. We get it. So happy for you. Love the duos, tho. Great show!

Less Dual Threat, more Extra Point Taken
Can Ben and Sheil get their own feed? Nora is the most annoying personality in football media. Maybe add Ruiz to Extra Point Taken and get rid of Dual Threat altogether
  • Raff2534
    Good show.
Love the show, for real. But for the record, Sam Darnold had a worse situation in his first 3 years than Justin Fields. Don’t even care about Sam just a fact. Also a fact: Fields is a better qb and played better in his first 3 years than Sam. Sam kept the Jets in more games in year 2 than he gets credit for. Justin Fields is crazy underrated. Really like him
  • Wool unpulled
On a recent episode, Nora and Stephen and Lindsey Jones
Were discussing the Hunt family and they lazily assumed the Hunt family was behind Hunt’s Ketchup Stephen said “all Ketchup is the same” It most certainly is not all the same… Heinz is the standard, everything else is ghetto
  • Golden Ridge
    1/2 credit
Extra point taken is an entertaining listen. They can provide some insight and generally do so in a palatable way. Dual threat is terrible and frequently leads me to consider deleting the entire podcast from my feed.

    Long overdue
For a 5–star review. I love you all

What Happened To This Once Great Podcast?
This used to be one of my “go to” podcasts for information and analysis. Now it’s just Ruiz with bad “hot takes,”Nora laughing at her own inside jokes, Sheil trying to be the coolest guy in the room, and Solak getting so excited that his voice reaches levels only animals can hear. Every time one of them starts to say something remotely interesting, the other interrupts them and off on a tangent they go. Bill Simmons might want to take a look at this and bring an adult back into the room. The kids are out of control.

Very poor post Super Bowl analysis
Very disappointing Super Bowl analysis. They don’t even mention the game winning QB Mahomes until 10 min in. Spend most of it talking about Niners and Shanahan out coached Reid & say that taking ball first in ‘sudden death’ overtime is best strategy….uhh…that’s certainly a take.
  • cschlawi
    Sheil insecure?
What’s with Sheil making his entire “personality” revolve around trolling Solak? It’s so boring when he constantly asks Solak for sources, like: who is saying that?!, even though they’re things we all hear friends and sportscasters talking about. Or if Solak misspeaks one word he jumps all over it, even though everyone knew what Solak meant. Is it just insecurity about the fact that Solak is the reason people tune in to Extra Point Taken? He can play it off as being for “team content”, but it’s just lazy—a transparent excuse we see through. Getting old. My friends and I who listen to Philly Special only listen to the episodes when Solak is on.
  • Not Tom Selleck
    Nearly unlistenable now
Solak doesn’t understand how to have a conversation with his fellow hosts. He constantly interrupts to go off on rapid paced monologues that offer mediocre analysis. I’ve never heard him offer insight that an “expert” would have, rather he just lists things and yells with the world’s most annoying voice. Just write your lame analysis and keep that voice away from a microphone. Nora needs to learn how to make a point without laughing nervously while saying it. Also, listening to Sheil gasp for air after every sentence is unnerving. I’ve never heard anyone so audibly inhale with every breath like Sheil does. And lastly, Ruiz, who seems to be a guy they found wandering the streets yelling at his shadow and they decided to put behind a microphone and call him an expert, because dude is flat out dumb. Dangerously stupid. I don’t know how Ruiz is capable of tying his own shoes with what’s obviously an iq under 40.

    Ees gooo!
Top tier NFL show. I was scared when Kevin Clark and that other dude left but gotta say I like all of them and their personalities and insights and don’t mind the podcast by committee. Now, is it hard to listen to Ben Solak at certain times of day or if I’m feeling some type of way? Nah. Dude is actually hilarious. At first it was a bit much and seemed like a put on but no, I really think he is that much of a football dork. Like foreal foreal. Credit where it’s due, the guy is funny. So is Steven Ruiz. I just don’t ever want to see what he looks like in person because it will ruin the image in my head which is basically a mix between The Dude and Newman in Jurassic Park.
  • Bananafiend
    Ruiz is trash
Solak and Sheil are ok. But Steven is trash, they just gave a internet troll a podcast. He’s not funny nor intresting and he just wants to put out outrageous takes. Man. I miss Kevin Clark and Robert Mays. Gave it a try this season but I’m out if Ruiz is involved in 2024.
  • jeremyjschmidt123
    Love extra points
Dual threat just doesn’t work - if the hosts did not use social media during the season, possible they would be compelling. Way too online. I think what makes ep work is that sheil doesn’t fall down those rabbit holes, so brings some reality to the show. Love everyone’s effort, hope for the best.
  • ChristopherLRobinson7
Only 1/2 as good as it could be
Ben & Sheil are awesome but Nora is brutal. I listen to the episodes that Ben & Sheil do, but skip the Nora ones.
  • championshipman
Shiel and Ben are the best football pod
    That’s it
  • CaptainChaz
    Nora is no Mina
Ben is ok. The rest of these fools are brutal.
  • kmalli9
    Don’t recommend
Steven and Nora are a tough listen.
  • Stalinboss
    Dual Threat
    Awful analysis.

Analytics nerds are destroying sports media
I would suggest not putting your smuggest, third string data nerds on this show and just sticking with the A-team. Never listening again.
  • Z dog man
    Hard to listen to
The two who pod immediately after games are hard to listen to. Their points are unclear and she giggles annoyingly at the end of each sentence. This is the one NFL podcast I usually pass on.

Extra Point Taken - a must listen
I have been listening to Ringer NFL on-and-off for the past few years. I never felt compelled to write a review for any podcast that I listen to, but I must say- Extra Point Taken is officially a must-listen for me and has been all season. When a new episode comes out I will drop whatever I’m doing to go do a mindless chore or walk on the treadmill so I can listen to it if I’m not in my car. Sheil and Ben have fantastic chemistry and when I listen to how good the product is I am just surprised it’s free. I think some of Ben’s takes and phrasing are just a part of my subconscious now and I love talking NFL because I feel like I know so much. Kudos to Ben and Sheil and the Ringer for recognizing the chemistry of these 2 talented podcasters. They are MJ and Scottie; Kobe and Shaq. Lightning in a bottle.

    The best NFL content
I have been a fan for years. Tiers Elite- Steven & Nora @ Duel Threat Really good- Extra Point taken. Thanks for another great season. 😃
  • JDamicoam
    EPT & Philly Special
Ben and Sheil are the best thing on the Ringer.
  • rmk8399
    Toxic and spiteful
Want to listen to two people who hate football? If so then Nora and Steven are right for you. Because according to them wins are not a QB stat (unless it fits the narrative ex. Hurts), great stats don’t matter if the team is good (unless you’re Dak), and both do not matter unless you have big hands (Purdy). I have to actively avoid this podcast because the hosts have no chemistry, cannot complete four sentences without say “blah blah blah” (Nora you get paid to talk for a living), and no matter what always manage to mention the Patriots in every conversation.

Hating all the way to the Super Bowl
This lady is awful at talking sports. Hating on purdy the whole way as we go to another Super Bowl. What a trash show
  • jimmythejim
    Bad takes
Nora’s misunderstandings of the game hurt my head.
  • LobePDX
    Woke NFL analysis
Do you find yourself hankering for less informative but more “diverse” NFL analysis? Well… you have come to the right place. The Ringer: where your melanin and gonads are more important than your merit and abilities.
  • PaulRonan
Love the show - thanks Sheil
Love the show, and appreciate Sheil for the clarification that we prefer Western New York!

    Extra point taken
Great podcast my favorite football podcast of the season
  • Jansimal
    Pretty good show
Pretty good show, but as a lions fan stop doubting us! Not saying we are making the playoffs next year, but we just won the NFC North for the first time ever! Why are we talking about next season? I trust someday ya’ll will give us some respect.
  • honest review commenter
    Lame
Only talk about the same teams over and over again for some reason have a bias against a lot of teams and mostly they just start saying words and hope the sentence makes sense by the end of it. Lazy show
  • Jg40453
The dude is really not the best
My guy, could you at least mention that the 49ers had BOTH starting tackles out against the Cardinals and maybe that’s why the 49ers run defense suffered a bit? Unfollowed for lack of knowledge from the dude. He really doesn’t watch the games! The girl is awesome! She is lovely and unbiased. I’ll stick to pardon my take though. At least they are funny!
  • raceno24
    Brutal
Feels like I’m listening to the analytical skills of a couple of 8th graders.
  • cal32288
    Stubborn to a fault
Steve Ruiz is on this podcast.
