    Where did the host go?
I don't know about others. But I listen to this because Chris Plante is hilarious. Recording this without him is a waste of time.

    What’s Tech?
I enjoy listening to Chris Plant and guests. Chris knows how to make technology fun and interesting. He asks the important questions about topics that we want the answers. And he manages to keep it all understandable for novices like myself. I recommend listening to What's Tech? if you want to keep abreast of current hot tech topics.

    Entertaining; Informative
It's even, or maybe especially, good when you know the tech. I'm not a gamer. But even the gamer episodes make me contemplate a retreat away from work and family obligations to take up a new and terrible hobby.

    Great, not only for newbies
Most tech-geeky people will already know some of the stuff on most episodes, but the insights of the intervieews makes it worth it even if you already have the notion about a subject. I've been listening for the past few weeks and liked a lot the one about Slack, since until now I didn't quite get what was it about, the same with the episode on Bitcoin and mining. HOWEVER, it feels too much like Chris is forcing into the answers he already knows, which it's not only cocky but takes a way the natural flux of a conversation. That's the only reason im reserving the last one start on the rating.

    Can’t get enough
I’ve recently found this podcast and can’t get enough. Going through the backlog, there are so many fascinating episodes; I’m dumbfounded that I haven’t found this sooner. Chris’s attitude and personality are very likable and he’s always got great chemistry with his guest. I would highly recommend this podcast if you’re even slightly interested in tech, futurology, video games, books...pretty much anything. Everyone should listen to this.

    Light and Playful
Chris Plante is a fun-filled guy and all of his guest speakers are both interesting to listen to, and also do a great job at explaining things in layman terms for all to be able to understand. Love the WWE/wrestling tidbits that get incorporated randomly. Keep up the awesome work and great production value!

    What’s a Review?
Such a great podcast; really touches on what’s currently happening. Great production; Chris Plante is awesome and awfully charming. You know a podcast is going to be great when the host feels like someone you want to have a conversation with. You the man Chris Plante; added your last name to my computers dictionary, you know why? Well, because you deserve it ;)

    Really informative
Amazing how Chris gets to the core of the tech issues in a fun way that doesn’t take time!

    Easy Knowledge.
Love this podcast. Super easy to learn new things with very well picked topics. Short & informative. The Cast convoy's a ton of information in a tight timely manner. Been looking around all over for a tech podcast, (majority of them are a ton of talking between a lot of people, that are trying to figure things out while talking. Super annoying & hard to learn anything) don't look no further if your trying to learn stuff about technology, this is the right podcast.

    what happened
What's Tech is normally an excellent show bringing a simplified approach to interesting, often challenging technology topics. However, what was the deal with the Spotify episode? I mean, since when is this podcast about recommendations? Also, I would argue that YouTube is probably one of the biggest players in music streaming, even more so now due to YouTube Red and it was completely forgotten. I was disappointed there wasn't any reason why iTunes or Apple Music is so terrible. I didn't enjoy the underdeveloped cynicism this discussion carried. I feel an opinion should be supported with an explanation. If The Verge is serious about podcasts then it should know this was a step backwards.
  • arich2day
Why did you leave out Google Play
I think this was a fair comparison since Google Play Music is a power play especially with YouTube Red included.

    What is What's Tech?
I would say that What's Tech is a great little insight into what crazy world we live in every week, and It helps introduce people into areas that they may find frightening, or expand on an area that you thought you already know. My question for you Chris, WHAT'S SOUNDCLOUD?

    Edit: High’s and Lows
Oct. 28, 2015 - Low: The episode about the patriot act? painful, the interviewer, was he ill? High: The Minecraft episode - if everything was like this, i’d give this 6 stars, easy to listen to - appropriate for someone (like me) who had never played the game, and more importantly, it sounded like the person on the other end actually enjoyed the topic with enough respect to think through their thoughts in advance - thus yielding a much more listenable experience. Please - bring the minecraft guy back. Sept. 17, 2015 - Ok, let’s get the good out of the way quickly - What’s Tech is incredibly valuable for sharing w/ your parents. Yeah, i’m that guy - the maven who gets tired of hearing “Why would anyone want to use digital money?” enough times that he simply sends a link instead of having a conversation - So discussions on this podcast are right up my alley. You should definitely listen to it, as they will eventually discuss something you care about, and show you something you’ve never heard before. Downside: If I hear the word “ Like” used one more time I’ll…probably keep listening. But really, these guys, many of them are solid writers, and its clear that they do their research, but I played the “What’s Bitcoin?” episode for my girlfriend and halfway through she just couldn’t take it anymore and was counting the number of times the guest said “ Like” instead of hearing why I thought it valuable to keep an eye on Bitcoin for her west African family members. Summary: The guests are interesting, and many of them are keys to discovery in other fields. The host’s voice is punishingly nerdy, but he’s good at his job, which is all that matters, and as soon as they fix the overuse of “like” and get some more Black people (personal bent… I guess) we’ll be in business. ok. I take back the Black people part, there’s probably no way for me to tell - this is radio after all. ( but for real- add some brothers to the show!)

    Shhhh... don't tell my boss.
This podcast has saved me from insanity at work because they play the same songs everyday. I have listened to every podcast topic except two of them. All the podcasts topics are great to learn from and listen to.(Except the two I haven't listened to) Even if you already know what "Uber" is or "Net Neutrality", the podcast informs you with background information about the topics and how the topic has developed to today. Give the podcast a listen, then you can decide if you enjoy it. I highly recommend it 👍🏽

Chris Plant continues to be awesome
It's great when you have 30 minutes of free time weather it's at home or driving in the car. Not only that but it's pretty informative for a guy in high school (Me). More importantly though it's funny, because Chris Plant always brings out the best in his guests on the show. Chris is also just funny in general, so that's a thing.

    Great!!!
Love the info and topics but waiting for a episode on a csgo or sky rim episode loved the destiny one!!!

    Quality Content
I do Iike this podcast. I worry about larger media companies and their ability to make authentic content vs. the "overproduced" stuff but that is not the case. It's a quality podcast.

    My GO-TO Podcast
I look forward to each episode every week. Chris can make me want to know more about something I would never have given a second look at. And his sarcasm and wittiness is top notch. Kudos all around!

    So great!
Have been doing a deep dive through the archives of this podcast. Plante is a great host, and the guests and topics are always fun. Love it.

    Yay for Christopher Thomas Plante
I don’t mind when he says his full name and I don’t why. Usually that would come off and incredibly pretentious but it doesn’t.
  • abbymaries4
    Fun, simple, & informative
I love this podcast. Fun, simple, informative, and short. I love learning about the history of some of the tech covered, and Chris Plante’s style of interviewing makes you feel like you’re listening to friends just chatting. Also, please do an episode on 3D-printing!

Love this podcast. It's really insightful and at times hilarious. Sometimes I even learn new things.

The gold, there is so much of it.
The right mix between knowledgeable and inquisitive. The host is able to bring on guests and explore what would naturally be very mundane topics and turn them into entertaining pieces of gold.
  • CLeayThompson
Cute show that does its job
I don't listen every show depending on the content but they do a great job of going through whatever subject they have the week.
