SkittleBashAmazing Show!!!!!!!!!But I need Tracy to stop talking over the guests. It’s too much input when I’m trying to listen. Also bring back Strong Black Laughs with Janelle. We need both of em.
-
Rlene DBlassicsOkay y’all. Boomerang. No mention of the first Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence collaboration. John Witherspoon, Chris Rock, AND Hallie Berry. Come on y’all.
-
Amy JustusI love everything about this podBut I’d be disingenuous if I didn’t say even if I hated it, I’d still love it because BILL BELLAMY. Naturally.

Brelyn15OkI love the content of the show and the people that are interviewed. I’m just not crazy about the host. She kind of does too much for my taste so it gets kind of annoying, but I like that it is a positive podcast.

Dani Boo💜Essential to the Culture!🙌🏾👏🏾💪🏾I typically watch the podcast via its YouTube Channel. I love the show! Tracey is a great host! Her energy is unmatched and she always asks great questions. The guests are truly what make the show such a dope concept. There are so many amazing influential black actors and actresses who don’t receive as much recognition as they deserve. I think it’s great that this show gives them their flowers and spreads the love that black culture knows they should have. I love it! I’m excited for the new season.💜😀

FrEmDawnEntertaining and MeaningfulThis show accomplishes what it sets out to - giving legends a chance to share and reflect honestly and humorously in their own words on their journey, lessons, and contributions along the way. Tracy Clayton is a refreshing interviewer and does amazing research and surprises her interviewees into answering in open and genuine ways. When John Weatherspoon was interviewed on the podcast just months before he passed away last year it was clear what an incredible gift this is - to give people flowers and the space to share honestly while we’re all still here.

Ash86MYLove itSuch amazing guests I really enjoy the back story to some things discussed. Host has good energy so I enjoy that, gets kind of corny at times tho but overall enjoyable show.

GongetthiswellnessThis is goldI love the individuals selected to come on the show, like I can tell it was done with care. Eagerly anticipating the future guests!
-
heartSabThis NEW hosts laughs more than the comediansNo no nooo... this new hosts laugh.. including how she laughs MORE than the people she interviews is annoying gut the listening ear. Interview style is stale and... stale. I loved Tracy Clayton, she was fun and funny. This new host is ... neither. I’m sorry for the negative critique, but this feedback is necessary — I haven’t heard a single full episode b/c I cut it off.

SunflowerJones87Captivating & NecesaryFrom the first episode with Lynn Whitfield to the last episode Robert Townsend, I was wrapped in this series. As a young black woman who is a lover of our culture in every facet, especially film/cinema & music, these interviews with living legends made my week every week. The interviewer was excellent. The content was amazing. I CANT WAIT until the next season! I encourage any and everyone to tap into this series!
-
CheripharmdThank you!Love your rapport with these living legend.

Robin the listenerTracy’s back!Love this and happy to have Tracy’s voice back in the podcast space. Such deep knowledge of African-American popular culture.
-
RealHumanWomanMa’am, please stop fangirlingI listen because I love the idea of the podcast and she has truly gotten some flowers. I just wish she would chill. A lot of the interviews just give me anxiety because it’s like a rando off the street bumped into Robert Townsend or Jason Weaver and they’re gushing about their childhood to a famous person who really just wants to get their takeout order and go tf home. I get that she’s black bubblegum and I’m here for a carefree black girl but the questions are weak and her responses are lame at times. It’s like the hosts brain shuts off and she’s just on autopilot from joy. Or maybe it’s more like that one kid in class who read a website that said “Here’s a list of six responses to show your professor your listening but also don’t actually add to the conversation”. Either way, with a better host this podcast could really be a game changer. Yeesh.
-
cloenickI really like this oneGreat podcast my favorite episode were the interview with Jason Weaver and Robert Townsend. This feels like a really fun introduction to African American film class. I can’t wait to catch the next season. Tracy is insightful, super knowledgeable and a fun host.

BoopIIVThank you TracyAfter listening to Tracy on another podcast I was familiar with her voice and wit but I think she truly shines in this podcast. She makes you laugh, think, and truly feel like you are in the room when she is interviewing Black legends. Thank you Netflix for putting this podcast together but even more so, thank you Tracy for being a welcoming voice and a “friend in my head”.
-
Lady91Black excellenceI’ve never listened to anything on Podcast until I came across strong black lead. This is such an awesome platform and I love it.

MintyPantsTracy is an Extra Luminous GemSo happy Tracy Clayton is back podcasting. She's one of the most gifted interviewers there is.
-
Bossygirl08I’m a fan!Great show. Love the interviews with black acting legends. I would like a little more in depth questions from the interviewer. All the questions seem off the cuff and centered around her experiences.
-
JujubeanbeanTracy Clayton Fan ClubI would listen to Tracy read a phone book and still end up cackling, but we’re all lucky we have her on this podcast instead.
-
Azeta519Props to you!I enjoyed your season and hope you’re coming back soon. Thanks for giving us (black folks) an opportunity to learn more about our own! Great candied moments on our Stars!
-
Sassy2u15Captivating and funnyThis podcast brings the story behind actors I have seen growing up, but didn’t know about. Each episode is so funny and always has a great lesson to learn. Tracy is hilarious and a great host of the show.
-
Ms NeaaMuch Much Needed!!!Love this podcast ! All the guests definitely deserve their flowers while they are still here ! So much insight and wisdom packed into 45 minutes
-
Jbfan1981PhenomenalThank you Tracy and Netflix for bringing this podcast to the light!!!
-
emoo3Yes to this concept!!LOVE this concept of this podcast!! The interviewer needs to find that balance of being entertaining, without talking over the guest and not truly listening to or processing their answers. That’s at least what I got out of the Jackée interview. There were a few answers she gave that could have produced really powerful follow up questions and answers. That’s just a little constructive criticism from someone who’s interviewed A LOT of people. It’s really just a small tweak, because other than that this podcast is SPOT ON. You’ve found a new subscriber!! Update: I read some of the other reviews and I think I figured out what was bugging me. The host makes too much of the interview about her. Now, don’t get me wrong, for a show like this to work there has to be some of that, but reign it in. Here’s an easy tip to figure out how to find the right balance Tracy: keep track of how many times you start a sentence with the word I during your interview. You’ll start to notice the pattern. It’s very fixable, and something a lot of people do until they get more comfortable with process of interviewing. You got this Tracy!!
-
M.ArthurLove!!Happy that these legends are getting their well deserved shine. So very happy to have Tracy back on the podcasting scene!

Little VoxIt’s not about you Tracy!I loved Tracy on “Another Round.” Perhaps she works better w/a partner who can riff off of her humor. Some of her banter w/older guests doesn’t work because that’s not how they communicate. The Jason Weaver ep was the best because he spoke her language, controlled the interview & shared so much knowledge that a good interviewer should possess. How does Tracy not know who Suzanne de Passe is? How is she asking John Witherspoon about a desire to do more mainstream work when it’s all on Wikipedia. If you’re going to interview Strong Black Legends familiarize yourself with their bio. Also, her overly solicitous nature, and constant interruptions break the flow of the interviews. Please stop interjecting about how poor you are or how you want to be famous one day. It is not endearing. It’s not about you!

Dominique MackBlack is best babyLove all the episodes Tracy is infectious! Keep doing y’all thang
-
UnicornBloodPerfect host for a perfect topic.Thank goodness they chose Tracey to host this fantastic show. Her voice, intelligence and perspective are refreshing in this interview format, and she is clearly in her element among her elders. Her respect and admiration for them is obvious in her thoughtful and funny questions, AND she listens, leaving time for guests to fully answer... unlike some podcasts. 😉 GIVE TRACEY HER FLOWERS TOO!
-
Just.BeeLove itYour interviews and humor give me life. I’ve binge listened to the whole series. I look forward to hearing what you’re going to do next
-
