Bilas PelesWell doneProfesional and interesting. I especially like the idea behind the interviews about the Covid pandemic affected ordinary people. The pandemic was such a game changer — there should have been more shows like this to go back to in the future.

JSF4096All told is lousyListened as part of Martine’s show. Terrible - a poorly developed tale with no point and poorly related. AVOID!

ZabstaffDon’t eat on a podcastOmg. Don’t eat chips on a podcast, dear librarian. I almost threw my phone out the window.

Willyc277DisgustingLatest episode is absolute trash. Poor poor Annie has just had her entire life turned upside down due to her new, AWFUL dog-walking routine. The humanity!! How will she ever get through this crisis!! And maybe don’t put in audio of someone eating chips with their mouth open?? Enjoyed this series despite the terrible audio quality, but now I’m over it. Hard to believe anyone at WaPo signed off on this.

KatWalk65A slice of historyI've seen Gimme Shelter, read Keith's book, and studied the zeitgeist of the era. I think the narration could've been more artful and the way the story unravels is a bit scattered - I imagine there was more material that would have been a treat to include. This could've covered more episodes and a theme could've been explored, so hence it feels like a wasted opportunity. I don't mind Geoff's commentary but as the narrative progresses, his analysis and observations become underwhelming as he spells out the task list add the day unravels. The addition of the family of the man who was shot added a welcome layer of context. As did Hunter S. Thomson, raw and uncensored. More Jerry Garcia and where was Keith? Just highly unorganized as a narrative. "Holding up a peace sign in front of Hell's Angel's holding pool cues." THESE ARE NOT MY PEOPLE. That is the kind of sound bite that deserves more from the way this story unfolds- a tale of peace, love and something going wrong. Gotta love Marty.

bruffeeWho’s to blameIn Stanley Booth’s book The true Adventures of The Rolling Stones, it states that Sam Cutler went to Sonoma Raceway with others and he said it wasn’t atheistic enough for Mick J. It would have been a perfect location. And the nerve of Sam to claim he was their tour manager when clearly he was hired as the band gopher. Get drugs, girls, makeup, etc. Rock and roll baby!

KligWould have done 5 but....I love this podcast but with so few episodes I gave it a four. I WANT MORE!!!!
-
qwethanSound qualityThe Washington post is one of the largest newspapers in America, but I can’t understand like half of what they say which is a shame because the stories seem good.
-
AlenaJandricThe investigative journalism is great but....The sounds and voices sound like they’re coming from behind a wall, such bad recording! And it is so obvious his narrations are unbearably scripted.
-
PJChiBad audioI can’t believe this is a professional production. After listening to one episode on school security, I was dumbfounded by the fact that I couldn’t hear 60% of what the interviewee was saying. Did they listen to this podcast after they made it?
-
MarzViewzKeep the stories coming!Compelling stories about contemporary issues as well as the fascinating look back at Altamont. I hope there will be more!
-
SelenaKyleBad sound qualityCompelling content but I couldn’t make out much of the dialogue due to poor sound quality.

baitandswitch?Boring and poorly doneIt is hard to believe Geoff Edgers is a professional writer. He comes off as pretty illiterate sounding when narrating this podcast about the fatal Altamonte concert so I find it hard to believe he writes for the WP. This was a very boring production.

steviegagaSteviegagaWe set out for this show and got within about 2 miles and could see it was gonna be a tough slodge forward. I was against the decision to turn back but in hindsight it was a good call. I’d already been to several free Dead shows in Golden Gate Park plus numerous memorable times at the old Fillmore, the Avalon and Winterland. Somehow the vibe out here seemed weird. Man...after seeing Gimme Shelter I could see the whole vibe of Bay Atea 60’s was slipping away. Sad.

Actual People HostOmg so boringThis guy is trying so hard to make this interesting by saying phrases like get this and hold on a minute but it is just as boring as can be

dan9968776688He’s my brother and a master of his craftDennis Funk is my brother and also a terrific producer. He is truly a master of his craft and one of my favorites and not just because he is my brother.

m5ageEarly but EngagedI am a fan of Denis Funk's other work, but only one full episode into this podcast and I am HOOKED. I grew up in Colorado and really appreciate the reporting here and how this story is told. There is only one episode here but it is good, and I am engaged and excited to keep listening.
