273

We Love You (And So Can You) follows the journey of a guest looking to makeover part of their life: like jumping back into the dating world, dealing with professional jealousy, or navigating a new phase in life as an empty nester. Hosts Kristen Meinzer and Jolenta Greenberg draw on extensive knowledge of self-help to provide a prescription of wellness practices, creative activities, media consumption, and more, which the guest follows while we eavesdrop on their progress. The goal: for the guest to find the outstanding person who was there all along, and learn to love themselves more. We Love You (And So Can You) is part reality show, part self-love school, and the best makeover show in the podcast universe.

    Reality Show as a Podcast
Though I like Kristen and Jolenta's other podcast, By the Book, more, I do enjoy this one. I wish there was more from the guests and less from Kristen and Jolenta, though I know their producers wanted it this way. But if you like reality makeover shows, you will probably enjoy this podcast. (I guess it's a testament to the hosts that I enjoy this podcast despite the fact that I don't generally enjoy reality shows.)

So sad to see this show end

    Not great
Not very entertaining imo. You can only listen to so many podcasts in a day, with so many amazing ones around now I wouldn’t waste your time with this one

Love the hosts. Great sight into solving problems. Homework assignments seem very effective.

    Meh
I absolutely adore By the Book, but this one makes me uncomfortable for some reason that I can’t quite put my finger on. Maybe it’s because I love hearing the hosts talk about themselves rather than giving advice to other troubled souls? Perhaps because they are, in this podcast, what they’ve been reviewing in their other podcast? I don’t think reading a lot of self help books qualifies you to tell someone else how they should handle difficult situations. That being said, I have tried numerous times to listen to it because I love them so very very much on By the Book. But I still just can’t, and I’m really sorry I can’t because I think they’re amazing women.

    Thank you K & J!!!
This podcast takes you into the nitty gritty of how to actually change through narrative and documentary. If you like real stories and moments, this is for you.

    Love love love!
I love this podcast so much! I am a huge self help nerd and have been listening to By the Book for a long time now. You can tell that the hosts really care about helping their listeners and take the time to curate a perfect plan for them. Such a fun and inspirational listen.

    Love the topics
I love the topics ! I can’t stand how Jolenta talks. She sounds like she is constantly whining, valley girl sound to her voice. It’s annoying. Also Jolenta interrupts Kristen often. I want to hear more from Kristen.

A great spin on the makeover show!
Can’t get enough of you two! At first I thought I’d just listen because I love By the Book, but this show holds its own.

    Stop interrupting Kristen!
I have been listening to Kristen and Jolenta for a couple years, first on BTB and now on this one, and I love the goals and format of each podcast. However, I really cannot handle how often Jolenta interrupts Kristen. Have you ever counted the times, even in one episode? Kristen is generous about it, as she is most things, but it really touches a nerve for me. That indicates that it’s my own “stuff” in some ways, but it also tracks with white women trampling over women of color. I finally had to hit unsubscribe on both podcasts. I’ll follow Kristen’s career however else I can!

    You Are Not Alone
The thing I love about this podcast is that all, if not, most of the episodes are relatable. There is great power in knowing that our problems are not unique to us and that other people have been there. If we can learn to love ourselves through our adversities, we will realize that we are so much more than our problems and that our problems don’t define us.

    Episode 9 Kelli
You guys are great, really love your heart and let’s say gumption... Being afraid to ask for help and what society teaches us to be—powerful end to show! Malama Pono, Mike in Hawaii Just another take, the bonus episodes are awesome and SO real, fun-ville! Keep up the great work with both pods! P.S. Kristen, you are rockin the gram! C’mon Jolenta, she’s up on ya!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    Awesome!
I was so excited to try out this new podcast from my favorite online besties, Kristin & Jolenta. And they did not disappoint! Now I have two opportunities to listen in.

    Sorry, guys
I enjoy By the Book (although “like” is said waaaay too much), but this podcast is a little on the edge of problematic. Some of the people who are featured probably need to see a professional about their issues, which are likely deep-seated and not easily remedied by self-help book advice. At the very least, part of the advice given should include seeking professional counseling where and when available. Most towns and cities have mental health professionals who utilize sliding scales, and anyone enrolled in a college or university should inquire about on-campus services for students.

    Perfect Pathos & Logos Combo
These women are great at understanding and validating human emotion. But they also follow up with logical and tested strategies. It’s great to listen to and learn from! ❤️

    So needed
The guidance that these two are able to offer is so heartwarming that it’s hard for me to put it down because I want to learn, but I also want to see the people thrive! Thanks for another amazing show gals!

    Thank you for this show!
The ladies do such a good job with this fun new show and it's delightful to hear them in a new but familiar context!

I really want to love this
I love the original podcast, By the Book, but I’m not as in love with this one. My big issue is that we also do not get to hear much of Kristen and Jolenta’s process for choosing the steps their subjects do to solve their problems. Why do they choose what they choose? Where did they get the idea? Have they done something similar in books they’ve lived by in the past? Why did they choose some things over others? The fact that they lived by over 50 self help books is the entire premise of them having any authority whatsoever to give people advice— it’s stated at the top of each show—, but they do not ever reference any books or their experiences. They just throw ideas out, and the listener has no idea whether they are good ideas or where they came from.

So good!!!! Jolenta and Kristen are the best! ✨✨✨ And, Cameron, if you read this, I totally laughed out loud at your peanut butter joke.

    I really like it
I like this show even better than BTB. I feel like Jolenta and Kristen are even more authentically themselves on this show. Their joy and professional experience really comes through. Love it!

    It’s fun - listen!
Our friends Jolenta and Kristen really become our friends! Sorta. Trusted advisors. Good, life-affirming insights and encouragement. I’m enjoying.

    Too cheesy
I love the hosts original podcast ‘By the book’. But this one is just too cheesy. I know the show is called we love you. But wow they keep repeating it so many times it’s just too much. Doesn’t really feel authentic. What I do like about this though are, they have very clear steps on what to do which is practical and challenging. Still lots can be improved. Please take feedback seriously.

Right to the top of my podcast feed!
Just finished listening to the first episode and I absolutely loved every minute of it! Love the format, the 2 week thing, similar to when Kristen & Jolenta live "By the Book. I love that they interview their guest and then formulate a plan and create actions steps which they split into two separate weeks. I love the audio diary segments their guest makes (it's not really a guest so much... not such what to call the person they are working with). I love the name of the podcast, love the logo, the theme song, love the promo code, even: We Love You! This podcast is brilliant and I totally related to the first episode. And they really helped Cameron. It was awesome. I kept finding myself wondering what K&J would tell ME to do... I think I'll stop this review here and go journal about that, lol. BIG RECOMMEND on this podcast.

    Fun to listen to!
Loving this podcast so far! We all need to have support and I think this podcast is going to help a lot of people. The first episode with Cameron was really sweet. Thanks for all you do, Jolenta and Kristen!

    SO excited for this!!!
I LOVE By The Book by Kristen and Jolenta and am so psyched to get to hear their voices a bonus time each week! The first episode was wonderful - they sound natural and so positive. A pick me up for anyone - like a good friend cheering you on! Thanks K&J for sharing yourselves with us and bringing us such great content. ❤️

I Love It (and you can, too)
This podcast was a breath of fresh air! It was so much fun listening to K&J lovingly push their first guest into the spotlight. The struggle of the guest was relatable, the bravery the guest exhibited in following the steps was exciting to see (hear?), and it was all really heart warming. I feel like a mush writing this review, but I don’t care.
  • HRN25
    Delightful!
I'm a fan of By the Book, but Jolenta and Kristen seem even more in their element in this fun and uplifting show! They are supportive, practical, and flexible--a refreshing change from many self-help voices.

    Cried right away
The first episode brought me to tears several times. It’s so lovely to hear my favorite hosts talk about self love. Cameron, have you ever done improv? I was listening to an interview with Marc Evan Jackson, and things he said about improv getting you out of your own head makes me think it might be something that will help you. Love you all!

    So GOOD
Love this. It could just be me, but I couldn’t help myself but to put all my insecurities along with Cam’s while listening to this. I thought he was so brave! Great job to all of you. Can’t wait to listen to your future shows.

Perfect Follow Up To By The Book
As an avid listener of Kristen & Jolenta’s other show I was excited to check out this new podcast. What a great first episode! Can’t wait for more. Introspection, crying, laughing ... the show has it all. I am a self help book junkie and listening to someone work through a challenge is fascinating and heartwarming because of how caring Kristen & Jolenta are.

    Magical!
So warm, funny, and kind. This show makes me feel all the feels!

    These ladies are incredible
If y’all haven’t heard By the Book, then you don’t know how amazing Kristen and Jolenta already are!! But you’re about to find out. And such a great concept to spread some of their love to the real world. It sounds like Queer Eye for podcasts and I LOVE THAT
