For Future Reference

Whether at work, class, or in our relationships, women are always faced with the challenges and pressures of doing it all and often having to be the first or only one in the room. But it’s just a little easier when you’ve got someone else who’s been there, has your back and can share advice on how to tackle things. On For Future Reference, hosts Tori Taylor and Ambar Calvillo-Rivera bring a weekly dose of balance and real talk with women who are in the same boat. We’ll dig into topics like modern-day mentorship, building authentic relationships, doing it all… or not, and what it really means to survive and thrive in this world. It’s advice and food for thought - that you can use now or just keep around for future reference.

    Refreshing
It is refreshing to hear how I am not the only one who has struggled when it came to finding a mentor and guidance. The interviews reflect many instances I could relate to myself. Looking forward to more interviews!!

    Lifting as we climb
I’ve been retired going on six years now, so some would say I have no use for conversations such as these. Wrong. First I’ll say I had a mentor who was key to my successful 38-year career with the DOJ and key to a successful 42 year marriage. I didn’t do it alone. She was my sounding board, my advisor, my trainer, my go-to person in all phases of my life. I didn’t know all the answers, I still don’t. In listening to today’s conversations, I wanted to shout out to everyone out there, pay close attention to all these four brilliant ladies. Take it all in, because more often than not, you will remember their words and apply it to yourself. Or you should. Everyone needs someone at different phases in our lives, for different reasons. I’m still living and learning from others! I am so looking forward to the next episode!
