v-up75Too much mouth and breath soundsIt’s quite distracting to hear the mouth noises and nose breathing. Just trying to give feedback it was very difficult to focus on the exercise. Thank you for being so willing to help and serving others!!

HugsandberriesHelps my fibromyalgiaI love Melissa’s classes! I’ve been doing them every other day for the past 3 months and fibromyalgia flare ups have greatly dwindled and my emotional state has elevated. I feel more and more like myself and less like I’m trapped in someone else’s painful body! So thank you Melissa! Don’t ever stop!!!

32707meI can do this!Twenty years ago I could bend like a pretzel but now I’m stiff as a board and 30 lbs heavier. Every other beginner yoga is too difficult. I tried Dr West beginners and I could do all the positions and I feel so relaxed. This is a great first step to gaining back my health!

Lorane 98Yoga with MelissaI am so grateful for this yoga practice. Melissa always helps me practice yoga both on and off the mat! 🙏

FitmegsAppreciate it, but noI appreciate that Dr. Melissa takes the time to do these, I really do. But there is SO. MUCH. TALKING. I think, in a 60 min. class, there was only about 15 min. of yoga poses. The back and forth with the camera guy, the tangents, the commentary...it's all so frustrating. There was no flow, not even poses that make sense together, and it felt very contrived. For those who say there are not other yoga podcasts out there, there are, and they are better.
-
RavenAppleFavoriteI have tried many many yoga podcasts and this is by far my favorite. It is the only one I use. Thank you.

Lydiaann10Yoga for Everyone!I have been doing yoga (off & on) for over 40 years. I have taken various classes, followed teachers on TV, practiced with DVD’s & books, but…Melissa is the best! She has the perfect flow or timing to her postures - that gives enough time for your body to adjust or relax into the posture. I have tried to follow teachers that seem to go as fast as they can, making it an aerobic exercise, rather than a time to stretch into the posture. I just feel better doing it at Melissa’s ‘therapeutic’ pace. Whether you are a beginner or long-time practicer, you will benefit from doing yoga with Melissa! Thanks so much for your thoughtful practices!

conselerSuch a generous and Well thought out programWorth the time, much more than other yoga programs. Her content makes daily learning enjoyable and exciting. Nice vocals and background noise, which is not the most important part of sharing wisdom, but it is a nice touch!

BeeOnederfulLook no further.Excellent yoga classes! I’ve been following Melissa for about 6 months now and as an experienced yogi, I feel right at home. She manages to be both calming and thorough in each of her classes. It really is like having a personal instructor there with you. She actively listens to her audience/students and makes yoga applicable for everyone. Great for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students.

Cka141Melissa West is the best!I love Melissa's approach to yoga. Real yoga for real people. Each class is better than the last. I use her membership site, as well as her podcasts from iTunes. So easy to access, anytime, anywhere. I recommend her classes to anyone who wants to broaden their understanding of yoga and deepen their practice.

IdahoMonroePerfect for all of us “real” people...I love Melissa’s style of teaching yoga. I always learn new poses, even though I have practiced for years. Her sense of humor adds to the delightful quality of her presentation. The allegorical stories helps to get the teachings across and apply them to the postures. I have been a member of her site for two years and learn something new from her every time.

ElectricSweetieI love Namaste Yoga!I used to attend a yoga class in my city with a teacher I really loved. However, the studio closed and I couldn't find another class I liked so my yoga practice fell apart. Thankfully, I found Dr. Melissa West's Namaste Yoga classes online and have rejuvenated my yoga practice! Dr. West is a great teacher; she explains each posture so that the viewer does it correctly without sustaining injuries, she goes at a perfect pace, and also offers insights for focus and relaxation. I also now really enjoy my home practice because I don't have to travel to class! Thanks, Dr. West!

KLCameronMy Personal Yoga InstructorTHANK YOU! Namaste Yoga and Dr. Melissa West came into my life a few weeks ago, after my yoga instructor moved away (and she was my first). Namaste Yoga is the PERFECT fit for me, as my other instructor taught exactly the same way - love the "Real Yoga for real people" concept. I am now doing yoga 6 days a week, and feel like I am in a personal class with you. I am challenged when holding the poses longer, but this has also helped me to gain core strength. I thoroughly enjoy the special themes for each class and how you guide me to reflect and apply this to my life. I've begun to set up a calendar of your classes so that I don't need to spend so much time choosing, and keep my week flowing with your lessons. THANK YOU again - I look forward to spending an hour each day with yoga.
-
vvvcvcvdfddfgWhat a gift these classes are!Melissa's classes are accessible for beginners, fabulous for long-timers. I have done yoga for almost 15 years, and yet Melissa's classes got me to be a yogi - practicing almost everyday because I love it so. The classes also inspire my higher self, so I can practice my yoga on the mat and in my life. Truly an incredible gift to the world. Thank you Melissa!
-
LDP32176Thank you for the workout. I did fail at the plank with twists. I think I will do it again after my shoulders recover. Why is it that I did feel like a 'spaz' in my own room? Keep up the great classes. I am a beginner.

OmyogaGreat PodcastNamaste Yoga with Dr Melissa West is easy to follow no matter what your level is. She provides modifications if you need them. It feels like you have your own private yoga teacher. Thank you!

TheDemskesRenewed loveThank you for renewing my love for yoga! I just found your podcast and I am so happy to start practicing yoga again. After I had my son I stopped practicing. With all the chaos, I wasn't able to find time to practice at a studio. Being able to practice in my own home is amazing. Thank you!
-
DebDertLove this Podcast!I have been practicing yoga using Melissa's podcasts for about a year now. She is a fantastic teacher and I feel like I'm in her personal studio when I settle in for one of her classes. Her podcasts are the perfect length and she addresses the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga. I've shared these wonderful podcasts with many friends and family. Thank you, Melissa, for sharing your gift of yoga with so many!

ArtisticDrama JoyeauxMy FAVORITE yoga teacherMelissa West is so wonderful. I tell everybody about my yoga guru in Canada. She means so much to me. I love being able to do my yoga with such a wonderful, lighthearted woman. She is down to earth, very funny, and so sweet! She provides yoga for real people and I love when she'll say "yoga is not a spectator sport!" I feel like her yoga is a safe place I can come when I am having a crappy day. Her classes have a lot of variety. I feel like I am always learning something. And she goes at the PERFECT pace for me. I am SO grateful that Melissa decided to follow her calling to provide such beautiful yoga classes for free so that people like me who can't afford yoga classes can join in on the fun. Thank you so much!! Namaste, Joy.

Brilliant-and-BeautifulSO Thankful for NamasteI am SO thankful to God for Namaste Yoga! :) The way that it soothes my body, mind and soul from the inside out is amazing. It's like being able to squeeze out all the toxins from the day or past and just being able to feel free, calm and totally brand new. As a person who has dealt with anxiety for most of my life, I am thankful to God for any little calming thing that can actually WORK for me and Namaste Yoga is one of those meditative and spiritual practices that works for me better than a therapy session or other things that I've tried. It is a true Blessing to be able to practice Namaste with Dr. Melissa West, and she feels like more than just a teacher, but even moreso like a close friend. Give this a try and see won't your life feel refreshed after even just one class. :)
-
diviyogisoothingI love to incorporate namaste into my weekly routine-i try to do different styles each day flow, hot, restorative yin and kundalini. ADeliciousMessThank You5 years ago I found out I had uterine fibroid tumors and I had to have a hysterectomy. 3 years ago I found out I had Celiac so I had to give up all gluten. With all this change in my life I lost my inner Goddess and smile. Thank You so much for helping me to find them again.

VJoyHeinOne of the best ways to bring yoga into your daily life!At the beginning of the year, I stumbled upon Namaste Yoga, and to say my life has completely transformed since then would be an understatement. Melissa's classes have allowed me to reconnect with my mind, body and soul. Every time I complete a class, I feel refreshed and ready for anything life has in store.

thefathenTruly Yoga for REAL PeopleDr. West appreciates that everyone is different. We have different body types, limitations and face different challenges from day to day and week to week. Her instruction accommodates all levels. She offers modification for differing medical needs and body types. She enriches each class with a story or yogic philosophy - giving us something to take off the mat and incorporate into our daily lives. She has taught me how to respect my body and to really listen to it. I cannot recommend this podcast enough!

West knows BestFirst 30 Episodes?I used to practice yoga regularly. Studied abroad in India, came back with a chip on my shoulder about American classes, fell out of practice, blahblahblah. This podcast has brought me right back into practice. It's not the most physically intense series out there, but it is the most comfortable, accepting, and meditative. Dr. West's narration is open and honest and considerably less distracting than all those people who take themselves so seriously. She has a sense of humor that makes you feel more comfortable with yourself; let's be honest, bodies are funny! You can tell she takes great joy in producing these episodes and you leave your mat feeling joyful, too. I'm addicted. I look forward to these videos every day. I keep finding more and more room in my life for yoga. There's just one thing I'm wondering: why aren't the first 30 videos on iTunes? I'm dying for the first 30 episodes!
-
LoJ56A Meaningful PracticeI appreciate the approachable style of these yoga videos. There is a lot of variety in positions and great insight into the practice of yoga. I finish a video feeling relaxed, healthy and focused. Namaste Yoga will continue to be part of my daily routine because of the amazing benefits I receive from it!
-
DamnMedusaCalming and mindfulI often find myself looking for a quick fast paced 10-30 minute yoga podcast to try and wedge a "yoga fix" into my day. And today I decided to tame my ADD and let my attention span linger on an entire hour of yoga. Now this is asking alot of my brain, but both my body and brain made it through the whole show. I only took one break. And I am grateful. I realized that Im to focused on challenge and exertion in my yoga practice and that I need to take it slow, be mindful, meditative and have awareness of the precepts of yoga too. This was very grounding and i will be back for more. Thank you :)
-
Alison BranconeI love these podcasts!I discovered these videos while I was recovering from abdominal surgery, and they were a lifesaver. Although I am now fully recovered, I still practice them 2-3x/week. The combination of poses, breathing and philosophy is absolutely wonderful, and my understanding of yoga has been deepened. Each video is very well thought out, creative, and has an important message to convey.
-
sick if IHMAmazing instructor!I have a chronic pain condition and love to stay as active as possible. I have a move it or lose it policy. I started doing these videos in the summer, at the same time I also took classes at the local sports club. Melissa has this way of not only explaining what and why you are doing but also easing you body into positions you could never imagine. My cousin is a very experienced yogi and teacher for well over a decade. She couldn't believe that I could get into lotus. I told her I owe it all to Namaste Yoga taught by Melissa West. I travel a bit and love that no matter where I go, I know I have an awesome yoga instructor with me. It keeps my body limber and my mind balanced. It truly is yoga for real people...and the only podcast of it's kind!
-
Jewel in the LotusExcellent Yoga ClassesYoga, to me, is far more than physical exercise. It is a way of life. Dr. Melissa West's Namaste Yoga videos address all aspects of yoga ... body, mind and spirit. Her friendly, intimate teaching style makes me feel as if I have just taken a private lesson in the comfort of my own home. She offers so much variety in both theme and asana that each class is an adventure. That she offers these classes at no cost is amazing and I am grateful. Thank you, Melissa!
-
JenK47Insightful and supportive practice in my living roomI love Dr . West's themes, flows, and guidance. I learn something new about my body, yoga philosophy, and myself with every class. It's so cool to have this resource (and for free no less!) to practice at home. I am a yoga teacher myself, and have a hard time finding classes in my area that resonate with me. Melissa to the rescue! Thanks for making this great resource available to the public!
-
ReneeClaireYogaGreat way to deepen your practiceDr. Melissa West is one of the most thoughtful and knowledgeable teachers I know. As a fellow certified instructor, I appreciate her vast knowledge of yoga philosophy, and how she takes the time to weave mindfulness and meaning throughout her classes. Each sequence is carefully thought out and executed, and I always learn something new about myself when I take a Melissa West class. Yoga is more than stretching and sweating. These classes are true yoga in action - connection to breath, body and the "what is happening" beneath the surface. I would recommend these to anyone new to yoga, and those looking to deepen their practice.
-
Sara FroniusInspiringAlways been intimidated by yoga but your classes are extremely helpful and instructional. I also love that you can do them in the comfort of your own home and on your own schedule. I appreciate that you hold the poses long enough so you can feel if you are doing them right or not and it allows your muscles to stretch out completely. I've seen so many videos where they fly through different poses and it's hard to grasp them so thank you for giving us time to learn. Keep up the good work. Namaste.

Gennifer5430Excellent addition to your lifestyle. If you're looking for the kind of yoga that makes you really break a sweat and burn calories, try a Bikram class or other heated yoga or a great vinyasa class. However, this is an excellent selection of hatha yoga routines to create more peace and well being in your life. I'm a college student at a crossroads and Dr. West has changed my life in a few short weeks. I take these practices on almost every single day. Sometimes I repeat my favorites, sometimes I change it up. Dr. West is gentle, patient, and very soothing. She encourages you to create your own practice, and really tune into your breath and your body to fuel your practice. And sometimes you DO sweat. Every now and then she'll throw in a sun salutation or a different flow that really energizes you. What a great experience.

Mblackable6 STARS I TELL YA!You Melissa-are truly a blessing in this "hi-fi", web enthused world we all live in....THANK YOU. Words cannot express how awesome you & your style of teaching are for anyone & everyone that is willing to watch. I stumbled across your series on a random Google search about, let's say 4 months ago & my personal yoga experience has reached new heights & i continue to be enlightened every time I watch your show. When I watch your show it's like going to see an old friend-I look forward to my yoga sessions with Melissa! I dunno, I probably sound like some crazy lady just rambling but I do hope you get to

IBI3Thoughtful and safe yoga classes for home practiceThis is the best yoga podcast I found on Itunes It´s thoughtful, well structured and safe to do at home by yourself. The measured pace suits early morning practice (when everyone is a little stiff) and Melissa often teaches variations which can make the pose a little more challenging. Melissa is a great instructor: she´s gentle, well read and, although she gives a lot of background information on yoga, she keeps it light with her sunny personality. It´s a good way to complement other classes or to regularly engage in yoga practice at home. Try it!

sandysjccaGentle and challenging; highly recommendedI love these gentle, but challenging yoga podcasts! Melissa pays a lot of attention to form, and manages to get me into (and out of) poses that I have never been able to do well before. She also includes a lot of poses that I don't see in other yoga classes. There are alternatives given for many of the more difficult poses, making yoga accessible to those of us that are not as flexible or strong as we'd like to be. I have been doing these classes a couple times a week since the spring, and both my flexibility and strength have improved because of them. The quality of the podcasts has been improving as well. I highly recommend this podcast!

Third degree nurseDr. Melissa West's podcastI first found these when i was scrolling through yoga podcasts on Apple TV. i was look ing for a yogi with intelligence, grace and who could model good technique. I also wanted to watch more than just 10-minute podcasts, which so many others do. I've found these to be substantive, informative, safe to practice and well-shot. I enjoy learning a bit more about the history of yoga as well as practicing it. If you are looking for a wide variety of good, safe, yoga podcasts that will stimulate you to do your best and grow in your practice, these are for you. Hope she continues making them for a long time.
-
KathrynA2012This is my yoga practiceI've been watching this podcast for about a year now, and following the threads to books that Dr. West recommends, stories she tells, etc. I love the format, love her, feel relaxed and educated after every episode. Some of the poses are difficult, but overall I would say it is more of a restorative, educational experience, and at that, the best one I've found. Love her. Thank you!
-
Owl_81Yoga on and off matGreat yoga podcast! It is excellent for beginners and long-time yogis who are looking for a practice that not only incorporates postures, but also includes yogic philosophy. It provides viewers with ways to maintain a yoga practice on and off the mat.
-
alyson keaneExcellentComplete class with excellent instructions. For the serious student of both yoga philosophy and asana practice who I'd looking for a mindful practice. The poses are held longer to deepen your understanding of alignment and being present.
-
MarrajessLove this yoga podcast!!I am so grateful to Dr. Melissa West for creating these podcasts. They are the perfect length. Throw in an inversion and a longer savasana and you've got an hour and fifteen minute practice which is just right. I like how she begins the practice with some gentle strecthing to slowly warm up the body and then she gradually gets into more challenging poses. The music is great too-very relaxing. Best of all-it's free!! It's true that this podcast may not be enough for some yogis, but I think anyone would benefit from them and be glad they did at least one of her podcasts once a week. They are relaxing and rejuvenating. I've been doing them three times a week for the past month. It has been wonderful. Thank you so much Melissa! Keep up the amazing work! I will be happily donating to the production of your podcasts soon.
