    Best Podcast
This is one of my favorite true crime podcast. Joel is a great host plus the best guest I listen everyday.

    Now unlistenable
Original Addelson case coverage was good Now everything is a total repetitive reach. The host is completely unprepared and not paying attention, so guests just ramble and repeat themselves. A guest will be talking about children getting murdered then suddenly the host will say, “Hey is that a Yankees poster behind you? Are you a Yankees fan? Who’s your favorite player?”The host needs to stop grunting after every comment.

Rob D’Amico is an American HERO!!
His stories are unbelievable! We need 20 hours of podcasts broken so that he isn’t rushed and can stay focused on the story. The details are the best part. Thanks Rob!

    Just: why?
Why are you discussing the Scott Peterson case when you did absolutely no research? It matters the condition of the bodies; the boat was not purchased “in secret…” - the house invasion is not “new” and no one mentions SP worried about child support…. had to turn it off lest you attempt to fumble your way through Amber F. (Who was not a gf, she was a booty call) (it matters) plus she HAD A KID. No one wants to hear you wax unpoetic about any of this. Get a grip.

    Great Show!
I quite enjoy the show and find it improving all the time. It’s evolving into a great place for true crime info. I love the regulars and the new guests you bring on. Joel, you’re doing great! p.s. To the ppl reading reviews, ignore the folks rating a single guest rather than entire show.

    Professional GUESTS
Joel, no one wants your uneducated guess and speculations. You interrupt and distract from your guest’s expertise.your opinion in the LA police department being to blame for Hannah K. Father’s unfortunate loss, was outrageous and based on NOTHING as your expert guests reiterated to you. Talk less.

    This has great potential….
This YouTube/podcast has great potential, but Joel STOP please with the constant complaining on every single show. I understand that you have ADHD, however, the constant complaining, the interruption of your amazing guests that have great insight to offer. I truly want this to be a success. Yet, too much complaining about such simply life events. You are covering True Crime, the cases are sad, horrible. Put things in perspective, so to hear you complain every single show, multiple times throughout the show. The WRONG PLACE, THE WRONG TIME. The show with Detective Phil’s interview was great, but you interrupted with things that were absolutely off subject. Retired detective Phil”s interview was interesting, however, Joel -you complaining about basic life stuff, the interruptions about things that had zero to do with the interview that was being played, is off putting. As I stated, this show has great potential, but please stop complaining and interrupting the flow. Maybe the COE should do the interviewing.

    My Most Favorite Podcast!
These are so good I usually listen to each of them two or three times! Joel is a master at his craft as he guides his guests through all the important questions and most interesting details of topics. Joel is warm and genuine. His relationships with COE and Karm are endearing and his guests really *are* the best! My favs are Tim & Jo, but all of them are winners. Joel has the perfect personality for this format and adds just enough personal tidbits to allow his listeners to feel we are all friends. How do I get invited to Tim’s Christmas party?

    Do thes reviews go anywhere?
Love Joel and carm. Find coe irritating Joel, you lick the boots of your guests then completely disrespect them through the episodes. The interrupting is out of control! If I never hear about this book again it’ll be too soon Can’t really take coe’s voice or commentary. Please stay behind the scenes! Stop badmouthing fisher price. Just because you have cheap equipment don’t disparage a company that has delighted our children for decades I just keep adding to this post… just watched the crumbly sentencing. What’s with the constant calling the attorney “brother counselor “. Boot licking? Dr Makayla doesn’t have a voice for podcasts. Sorry but I can’t get what she’s saying! Why do you use the ridiculous phrase “unalived”… A- not a word, B- its a true crime podcast, are you trying to sugar coat suicide? Why not call a murderer unaliverer? Perhaps because it sounds ludicrous? Rediculous that you continue to use “r’d” and “sa’d” but use murder, crazy and psycho. If someone is listening to true crime podcasts they should be prepared

Hands-Down my favorite podcast. Joel is intelligent, funny & a fantastic interviewer! The guests are intelligent & personable; the topics timely & relevant. Jaymi

    Karen Read
I enjoyed your coverage of Adelson case but, your coverage of Karen Read is awful and dishonest. Sounding like Turtle Boy is stupid and not what the evidence is.

    On and on and on......
These stories could be told in fifteen minutes. Never ending and so random. They could take lessons from Dateline stories. #cliffnotes. This pod has jumped the shark!!

    Decent Podcast Host is Annoying
The podcast has great guests and is usually interesting. However, Joel gets off topic frequently, to talk about himself and it’s very annoying. I don’t understand why he thinks the audience is more interested in his life rather than the cases he is covering. He also shamelessly plugs his book multiple times in each episode.

    Can’t do it anymore
I used to love this show for true crime interviews and guests. Now you have to fast forward through the first 10 mins to avoid the host complaining about his life, his wife, COVID, he’s so tired, he has a headache and on and on. His guests even try to distract him so they are aware also. I can’t do it anymore, sorry.

One of the best podcasts ever
Joel Waldman and his amazing mother Karmela are one of the best podcast duos I’ve ever encountered. The amazing guests, the excellent topics, Joel’s wit and humor, the humanness of both of them, the COE (Chief of Everything) who makes everything work, the overarching kindness and goodness that permeates their show, the way they never fail to remember the victims…I could go on and on. I look so forward to their shows. I also happen to know that they are all awesome in person. Thank you for all you do.

    Great show, great family!
I’ve been watching for about 4 years now. The show has really grown but it still has a family feel. I love that the whole family is involved. Karmela rocks!

    Love STS
Discovered STS during the Addelson trial. Then to my great surprise, discovered the host is Joel Waldman. As a Waldman myself and having an uncle named, Joel Waldman, I was immediately hooked. Learning of Karm’s story further asserted my love for this show. Her advocacy is one of strength. Joel working with his mother and sharing her story is quite honorable. I enjoy the laughs, sarcasm, and even the mild manner complaining. I find it all to be relatable. And of course, they truly do have the best guests!
  • thedaisycomplex
    Big fan! Best guests
Love the guests. Keep it up Joel & Karm!

    Waste Of Your Time
STS has plummeted quickly during the Karen Read trial. Joel is clearly not listening when even on pretending to follow the trial. He made friends with some true YouTube grifters at Crime Con and is looking more and more like one himself. If you want to catch panels that have guests that haven’t been watching the trial either that are biased except for a few great guests then this is where to go. Waste of time if you want accurate information or an unbiased viewpoint.

Awful coverage of Karen Read case
Not sure why you were so off on this

    Stop saying “Um”
I love the show, but Joel says ‘Um” too much!

    Informative while entertaining
Love Surving the Survivor! Just bought the book and am looking forward to Karm's story and insights joined with the intricacies of the dynamics of family. Hope to someday be one of STS's Best Guests. I'm a NY Attorney that focuses on the legal complexities of true crime stories. Keep up the great work Joel, Karm and amazing team (especially the hard and seemingly effortless show production of The COO). And Kudos to you Joel for finding a way out of the world of traditional broadcast! I believe many of us (me especially) need to find a way out of the "traditional" paths dictated by our occupations in order to be our best selves and live our best life. Inspiring!

In spite of Joel’s past association with Faux news I still like him.

    Great show!
Even though Joel’s whining is a little much sometimes, I still love the show! Scott Duffey is my fave!

Terrible overview of the Karen Read case.

    Phil is a Jerk
Phil Waters may be one of the worst people I have ever heard. He is rude, arrogant, and selfish. I bet he considers himself a Christian but is against the principles of Jesus. I will never waste my time listening to someone as soulless as he.

    Used to really enjoy
I started listening to this podcast about a year ago. Don’t even remember how I found it, but gave it a shot and really enjoyed it. The tagline is true, some of the best guests. However, about a month or two ago, the ads became incessant! I get using your show to plug your book, but if you are going to talk about it multiple times during the pod, limit the additional ads for it. Getting multiple adds in less than 5-10 minutes, not just for the book, makes it unlistenable. The adds cut the guests off mid-sentence and it breaks any momentum. Sorry to say I won’t continue listening.
  • ACliff3RN
Joel and Carm are a hoot
Informative, great guests, stays on top of all the big cases. (I can’t do the one about the kid though). Their book is a great read. I don’t know where he finds the time and energy to produce so much timely content…..but I’m here for it!
  • Irishtom11783
    Joel’s ego constantly needs stroking
Eye roll moment every time Joel goes into one of his self facing diatribes. Needs to learn that he isn’t that interesting. And enough with the book. Torturing the listener is not a sales technique
  • Tiffhang
    Wonderful!!!
Wonderful podcast and great host!!! Joel brings on amazing guests who will argue both sides of a case. There’s no bias from this podcast!!! Guilty or not..you’ll get guests explaining why they think one way or another. Sometimes things can get spicy and go off the rails..but hey..that makes it interesting. If you don’t like what the guests are saying there’s always a fast forward button 🤷‍♀️ Every episode of STS is unique in its own way. I really enjoy Joel, Karm, the COE, and STS Nation..listen and support this podcast!!!

    Decent
I am obsessed with Markel / Adelson case and they have some great coverage of it, especially when they have ex friends, co workets spilling the tea. The shout outs to audience members in the middle of interviews does get annoying though.

    STS is THE BEST
Joel always has the best guests and awesome conversations about current and upcoming trials. In addition, I love being able to watch live trial drama and to discuss with others in the chat. It’s a great group of people and Joel has the best moderators and followers!

    My go-to for True Crime!
I found STS via Apple Podcasts and listened here for a long time before I moved over to YouTube for the livestreams (where I have met some amazing people). The thing that first drew me to this show is the amazing amount of respect and care that Joel shows for the victims of these crimes. He does not simply treat these cases as entertainment. He names the victims, works with their families, and always promotes justice. I can tell how much he sincerely cares about these people and you can’t find that just anywhere these days. He also works hard to be fair and as unbiased as possible. I LOVE the best guests and all of the varying perspectives they provide. The COE and family element to this show also adds a layer of enjoyment to being part of STS nation. They work so hard to bring quality content, and I am grateful for that. And for what it’s worth, I am very excited about Joel’s book and happy to hear him talk about it. I would, too, if I had written a book! Thanks STS! -superplannergirl 💜

    Excellent Coverage
Big fan of Joel and STS. Interesting and informative guests daily. Joel is a great host and very entertaining. Karm is a wealth of knowledge and adds a perspective to the show’s subjects that you won’t find anywhere else! Keep up the great work. Love your entire team.
  • Koliebug
    Filtered skewed misleading information.
The main investigator of the case is an embarrassment to all Law Enforcement. Trooper Proctor’s ‘investigation’ did not search the home of the lawn where Officer O’Keefe was found murdered. That same day, he sent private text to his high school buddies that he hoped KR would unalive herself. He also said he was looking for nudes on her phone that he did not even have a search warrant for. When asked NG his buddy about the homeowners being a focus he said ‘Nope.’ ‘because he’s a Boston cop too’. The vague mention of this info in your podcast is disingenuous to say the least. The prosecution opening was complete word salad. Leaving out this vital info when providing an overview of the trial means your not being honest.

Found out about the podcast when I went down the Markel case rabbit hole. Really love the content! Definitely my favorite discovery!

Attention to detail, great analysis but…
Keep the homophobic bigot off the show. The number of offensive remarks he has made is incalculable.

So much fun and real deal
I get so much joy from this podcast - Joel his COE wife and Karm his beautiful mom and the team all do an amazing job reporting on these cases, adding some humor and lightheartedness at times and very relatable. Love the guests -give it a listen now!! Nikki Kuds

    Commercial Breaks
The commercials are abrupt and placed while someone is in the middle of a sentence.

i'm a victim of a violent crime MD office then NYPD crimes
i'm tuning in because of the Sebastian Rodgers case, and if he was harmed, I can tell you that if he was the perpetrators never imagined there would be such interest. I'm a victim of violent crime at a doctors when it comes to perpetrators some can be quite cunning about who they pick and I was targeted at a doctors and then NYPD don't like my act activism from the first precinct they were willing to break well falsify, police reports, downgrade, threat of bodily harm, as caught on video posted to , second-degree, assault, sexual assault (forcible touching) menacing of false cross, complaint, etc. I protested, Joe Tacopina, and his partner, Chad Seigel, comparing NYPD rate Victims vagina to Venus. I didn't post the YouTube until a couple days later my attacker began stalking me online, and someone on her behalf posted a lie that I threw the first punch when it was a one-way attack. I had a whole punched in my Retina cervical damage. I'm still having fallout all these years later a cataract stage four is now developed in. The eyewear had to have emergency retina surgery and I must be false arrested by NYPD detective john Vergona -- well I'm suffering new fallout from the surgery. He is now in Netflix NYPD homicide hero, but he should be in. I believe federal jail for lying in federal court and he detective Andrew Dwyer and their bosses withheld a letter threatening me.. I had a famous lawyer Ron Kuby, but I never got to meet him. I had emergency surgery for my eye Friday I was to be false arrested Saturday at 4 PM. I asked false arrested you on the sabbath. Are you anti-Semitic. Detective john Vergona refused to meet me except a false arrest me he told me he didn't care about two black eyes to keep my head down.... he told me he did not want to hear from me except to false arrest me if I didn't drop charges, he yelled at me over the phone you were gonna drop charges or I'm. nypd Det John Vergona on the threat posted on youtube I believe Joe Tacopina used fake account on YouTube Bob Dobalina . threatened me October 7, 2012 with retaliation if I took any action, use the C word of hatred for women called me Professional troublemaker. The corrupt NYPD detectives, bosses, IA 01 detectives corp counsel bosses withheld letter, my attacker submitted threatening me that I believe Tacopina drafted because of my opinion only he could be that stupid and aggressive and yeah confident he could get away with it?

    Simple
I love this podcast, sometimes Joel effects the flow with his quirkiness, but sometimes that makes the show. The COE does a great job behind the scenes, and I feel that’s her best use.

    Great show
SIMPLY THE BEST! I used to listen to many true crime podcasts. Found STS and it’s my go to. Always. Joel, Karm and the COE are top tier! The guests are always so amazing and so informative. Fil and Scott are the best on Fridays. And you can’t forget our very own Tim Jansen!!!!

    Too many Interruptions
The actual content is constantly interrupted by Joel’s personal anecdotes, shout outs, and pleas for financial support ( in addition to ads.) It is hard to reach any depth in conversations because of the constant sidetracking with comments about the physical appearances of the guests and other topics unrelated to the subject of the episode.
  • Lillog2
    Way too many commercials
Too many commercials and why do they come on mid sentence????? Annoying. Please don’t have guests on with a major lisp. It’s really hard to listen to. I’m listening for the coverage of the adelsons but I can’t stand all the YouTube comments. The questions are fine but all the random comments are annoying and the super stickers or whatever they are just take up time. Also, Dan was kind of a jerk to Wendi but none of that gets discussed. One sided coverage.
