    Terrible researcher
Limited details and even then they are often incorrect. No cross referencing. Then the interpretation/analysis is on par with a high school research project.

    I wanted to like it
I wanted to like this podcast because i am such an avid true crime listener but I just cannot get through it. I listened to two full episodes before leaving this review. The narrator delivers every piece of information with a singular monotone voice and restates information he has already said 3,4, even 5 times. I get it. I get that the religious group was once called great thunder and is now called the almighty church of god. The repetition is like nails on a chalk board for me personally. Just can’t do it.

    Underrated!
Michael and his soothing voice adds so much to these gut wrenching stories. This is a truly wonderful podcast with highly researched and factual information, no ads or very few and not too long. Love it! Thank you for these stories. I pray for these Families!

    Enjoy the format and storytelling
I have enjoyed listening to Unresolved for a few years. The storytelling and format are unique within the genre of true crime podcasts and the overall production is great. One thing I have had trouble getting over is the occasional mispronunciation of various common words that make me wonder whether the reader knows his subject. For example , today’s episode about a man from Czechoslovakia. In the episode, the pre-1993 country name is consistently pronounced with a soft “ch” sound like “cheese”, however the proper English version is with a hard “ch” sound like in “character”. It’s hard to listen to the repeated mistakes.

    Creepy narrator voice!
I just started listening and cannot get through an episode, the narrator’s voice is so creepy sounding!

    Spectacular
I’ve been listening for a number of years now and really have noticed a huge increase in the quality of production. The content has always been five stars thanks for your hard work.

Amazing podcast with an intelligent host! I just wish episodes were longer!

    Amber Thurman
I appreciate your coverage of Amber Thurman. Thank you. I was already a listener, but now I’m a lifelong fan.

    Great Podcast
Great job covering the overlooked, uncomfortable cases that never get tied up in a neat bow. Thanks for shining a light on the societal and political aspects that can allow some of these crimes to occur or escape resolution.

    Thank you
Thank you for highlighting and bringing abortion back into focus with the upcoming election looming before us. I’ve always loved your podcast and I do so even more now. The permanent damage Trump caused by putting evangelical nut jobs in the Supreme Court cannot be forgotten and it’s imperative to keep him out of office before he can cause any more damage to an already damaged country. You were brave to put out this episode and I applaud you because the issue of women’s health care is also near and dear to my heart. I’m disgusted with these politicians and all the pain and suffering they have caused and hope to see them all removed from office before they cause more damage. Thank you again.

    11/2/2024 Episode
I was already a fan of this podcast but after the Amber Thurman episode I am now a lifetime listener. Thank you for being on the right side of history.

    One of my favs
This is one of my fav true crime podcasts. I love that some lesser known cases and victims who would be discriminated against by many others are not avoided.

    One of my faves!!
I’ve been listening to Unresolved for years. It’s one of my favorite true crime podcasts. Michael chooses a great mix of “popular” stories and lesser known ones. I greatly appreciate his compassionate and non-judgmental story telling. His episodes, while some are quite shocking or disturbing, do not focus on shock value but rather giving a voice to the victim. I very much his appreciate his condemnation and commentary on the known “bad guys” - often saying what I’m thinking while also advocating for the victims despite their choices in life. Unresolved is one of my “comfort podcasts” - when I can’t find something else to listen to, I can count on Unresolved.

    Love!
This was the first podcast I ever listened to way back in 2017, I had a newborn and listened to it on walks. Always look forward to new episodes! My son is 7 1/2 now and I let him listen to the Zuma episode recently (no murder in this episode, so I figured it was safe haha) and he absolutely loved it. :) I'm so thrilled there will be another season. Your podcast is a staple to me, thank you so much!

    Great Podcast
Listen to this on a bus trip at night.

    Good!
Very informative podcast with often lesser known cases. It’s a shame they (mostly) remain unresolved but it’s the nature of this podcast lol

Where has this podcast been all my life?
I was stuck in traffic on a long trip back from a trip and had listened to all of my “regular” podcasts. I was browsing and came across this one and decided to give it a go. I listened to 3 in a row and love it! Super interesting cases and the proper amount of creepiness. Try it!

    Thoroughly researched, and in-depth
*Update 6/2024: I like that it sounds as if you’re pronouncing LISK’s name incorrectly. He took away the names of 10-16 people, for far too long, and he doesn’t deserve to have his name said correctly. I came across this podcast after seeing a recommendation on Reddit. You can tell that Michael researched the victims, and their stories. This has become one of my favorite podcasts.

    Great podcast
Love this podcast. Micheal has stories I’ve never heard of and a different take on the more known cases. Keep it up, love it!
  • ReddFlagg
    Good podcast, interesting cases
Please stop doing the “this was recorded” voice to read quotes from participants in the cases. It’s obviously your voice processed through a filter. It sounds ridiculous, and it detracts from otherwise interesting and engaging content. … besides that quibble, keep up the good work.

    Best Podcast
I love this podcast, I’ve been listening since 2018, I would love if you could try to find a case in North Carolina again, my first time listening was the double murder in Durham of a nursing student and boyfriend

    Fellow PNWer
I just found this podcast yesterday and it’s already become a total fave. I started listening to the story of Aaron Christenson a few minuets ago without looking at what it was about, and was very surprised to realize this happened in the same city I live in. I listened more and learned about Aaron’s life playing music and was even more intrigued because I played in several bands when I was in my twenties, including one that played and toured often and was connected to a lot of other bands here. Then I heard the name of my former boss (and the person who got me the job I’ve held for the past 6 years) and quotes she made to local news channels, being a close friend of Aaron Christendom’s. I’ve not ever heard of this case, despite the connections I have to the area, the music and a friend of Aaron’s. My heart breaks for Aaron, his family and his friends. I am incredibly sorry for the loss of Aaron and Buzzo. Thank you for the stories you tell and the dignified and respectful way you tell them. I will be listening to this podcast regularly now. I am shocked that I learned of this case through a podcast, instead of our local news.

    Unfollowing
So not interested in your political views when I’m trying to listen to a podcast and tragic cases. Unfollowing!

    Fabulous!
Highly researched cases you never hear covered on all those other podcasts! Unique and interesting content with detail and audio - I recently found this podcast and all I do is listen to true crime podcasts so I’m a bit of a connoisseur, and I look forward to this one the most. I highly recommend you listen and keep listening! So intriguing!

    follow!
i’ve been following this podcast since i started listening to podcasts around the beginning of the pandemic lockdown and i really like Michael”s voice and the work he does on his episodes. great research and the content is often more overlooked by others/obscure. i appreciate him bringing these topics to light. and he does his own music!
  • Hi Micheal
    Listen to E1 before Reviewing
His voice must grow on you. If you listen to the higher profile Golden State Killer case first and then move forward from there, you will become addicted. I’ve listened to all episodes at least once. A must listen for any True Crime enthusiasts!
  • Klh398
    One of my favorites!
I think I’ve been listening since about 2016 and this has always been a favorite of mine. Micheal is always treats victims respectfully and often covers cases that I have never heard of.

One of the best ethical true crime podcasts
Unresolved is one of the earliest indie true crime podcasts and remains one of the best. It’s also so underrated for the contributions it’s made to raising awareness of now-high-profile crimes that were not well known when Whelan covered them—particularly LISK. Whelan is and has always been victim focused and ethical and he deserves a lot of credit for continually pushing true crime media to be better.
  • tonyprenticee
    Weird sound quality
Used to love this show as the host has a very relaxing voice. Recently he started using some sort of sound distortion for quotes and it is really awful through headphones. Don’t think I can listen anymore because it gives me a headache!
  • CristyAnnb
    Great podcast
Michael does an excellent job researching and delivering the episodes with professionalism. This is an easy top 5. Great voice makes listening easy. I have re-listened to all episodes a couple of times.

    Excellent pod
Loooooooove this show so much!! I always look forward to Michael’s episodes coming out. Thoroughly researched and presented in an engaging way - Michael shows lots of empathy towards the victims. I also enjoy the musical components. Please keep making episodes!!!

    Great Pod
Excellent true grime pod. Mikey Dubz is a good host with a unique voice

    Used to be my favorite
I previously voted five stars for this show, but things have changed. Starting in 2023 he just started getting lazy and uninspired. I know he has a kid and that comes first, but sad that show not good anymore.
  • Hoodoosart
    Music
Information in the podcast is interesting, but the music is so distracting and erratic
  • DumbMark

I like that he will take a stand and speak up against injustice.
Had to leave a good rating after listening to the latest case. Thank you for speaking up against injustice and prejudice. Still one of the best true crime podcasts, way better than most of the rest! 5-2023: I hope you keep doing this podcast. It’s one of my favorites, I like the way you describe the cases. You are appreciated!

    Too Political
I used to really enjoy this podcast. It was always well researched and informative but lately the host seems to have a real problem staying objective, often veering off into thinly veiled political rants. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t listen anymore.
  • Yesi1758
Enjoy the show but not the Andrya DeGhelder ep
The show overall is enjoyable, but I hated the A. DeGhelder episode. The police press conferences addd nothing and just congratulated themselves on how hard they worked at their job. It was useless commentary and annoying how long the cops talked about what a good job they did.

    Can't get past narration
I really wanted to like the podcast but I can't handle the narration. Bummer.
  • Theofficialreich
    Wow
I’ve listened to a lot of true crime podcasts, this one takes the cake. Fantastic narration method, immerses you into the story like no other! Amazing podcast. So happy there are sooooo many episodes!

    Delivery is everything
I wanted to like this podcast. It is extremely interesting and well-researched, but good Lord, the host’s delivery! How anyone can listen to the guy is beyond me.

    FYI mr host
I noticed that my feed ended Feb, 2021. On a hunch I re-searched for the pod, noted a new cover photo, Re subbed and unsubbed from the “old” Unresolved and I see all including new eps. FYI.

    Narration
Couldn’t tolerate the voice. Dragging the words out at the end of each sentence.
