    Must listen for golf addicts
I can’t say enough great things about this podcast. Ev and Cerm make it such a fun and easy listen and - unlike any other golf podcast - they make the show about the listener. Each episode gets me more and more excited about my next round and elevating my game to the lowest handicap possible. Highly recommend!

Thanks for what you bring to golf
So, today I broke par for the first time. I’ve had a few chances and I choked a couple of them away in pretty miserable fashion. Today was different. I was 2 under headed to 16 and hit a couple bad shots and then 3 putted from 25 feet for a double bogey 5. I could feel my body deflate for a second. But today something changed. I embraced the challenge. I made it fun for myself. I treated it like 3rd and 9 or having the ball down 2 with 20 seconds left in basketball. Hit 2 great shots and birdied 17. I laced a 4 iron to about 145 out on 18 and then felt my body get tight. Despite my best efforts to calm down I flared a pw into the sand right of the green. Instead of dwelling, I stuffed the long bunker shot to 3-4 feet. I lined up the ball, stood over it and it didn’t feel right. I backed off, fixed my line and pumped it in. I say all that to say this… Your pod is helping a lot of ppl play this silly game better. Instead of falling back on the same ol stuff, I embraced the nerves. I didn’t dwell. I didn’t pout when a putt lipped out. I didn’t fight the nerves. And I really don’t think I’d have done that without a little help from the pod. So, if you’re ever second guessing the pod or the message or the impact, just wanna remind you that you’re helping a lot of us.

    Great mental game golf pod!
I am a newer listener to the show, and I have been in a real battle with golf for what feels like a while, not scoring how I want, getting angry during rounds, negative feelings towards golf for a while now. I listened to couple of episodes, and one in particular about shifting focus to ensuring people in the group are having fun, and it worked wonders in my last round. Definite “A-ha” moment mentally on the course. Already seeing the benefits in my game, and there are a ton of good takeaways from this show. High high recommend!

Game changing - Life changing, great podcast!
Listened to this podcast every day to catch up on episodes during one of the hardest years of my life, the thought that goes into the topics, the life lessons, and of course the golf insight is next to none! I can, as someone who struggles with severe anxiety, the focus on mental health and the mental game means so much! A must listen!

Great content and even better team
Had always loved the podcast and content all over the place. But the people are involved are the real differentiators here. Truly care about their listeners and want them to be involved. Any time I’ve had a thought or question they’ve responded with real feedback. Love this crew!

    Speech patterns
Love the content. Way too many sentences end with the word….right? Everyone does it makes pods unlistenable. Similar to a valley girl saying like. Language endemic ending all sentences with right. Love the show though.

    Great pod!
Found this pod very helpful for the mental game in ways we can all relate to! Even helps with life lessons- such as when our day gets off to a tough start going into damage control mode and getting out with a “bogey” instead of making double or worse.

    These guys get it
This pod might not teach you to hit great shots, but it will help you shrug off the bad ones. If you can learn to smile through bad golf, you can smile thru anything. I love what y’all are doing. Keep it up!

It will change the way you play
As a 10 handicap I was struggling to refine my game after 3 rounds in the 90s including a 96 at a private club in Orlando. I listened to a dozen or so of these and it completely changed my mindset as well as gave me confidence and strategies to hopefully bounce back. Now my last two rounds have been 81 and 82 which was in a 20-25 mph wind and from the tips at a course I rarely play from the tips. More importantly my love for the game has returned! If you’re a golfer whether scratch or no clue what your handicap is this is a must listen podcast.

    What an enjoyable ride!
A must listen for the weekend golfer to single digit handicappers who mind *%#* themselves during the round. Straight talk and various guests from all sport disciplines that give you countless insights on how to appreciate the game, and free your mind. Ultimately resulting in more enjoyment on the course and as a side benefit……. lower scores. Sometimes you just have to take a leap and try something new , my suggestion hop on board !

    ‘Enjoy it’
Evan, I’ve been following your stuff for some time now and recently started putting the mental stuff to the test. A buddy of mine went out today to prep for a trip to Bandon in 2 weeks and wanted to play as much as we could. We were talking about the trip and how excited we are about what’s coming up, barely thinking about the game we were playing. We laughed a lot, drank a little, and just flat out enjoyed the time out there. Somehow along the way I noticed that I was focusing deep only while over the ball and striking it clean mostly all day. Putting.. was almost mindless.. going a stretch of 9 with only 11 putts. I hadn’t broken 80 in probably 5 years and I pulled a 74 off, basically stress free. Then we played the next tees back and I felt like the wheels fell off.. still never had worse than bogey. Score aside, the mental shift matters. Thank you for the work you’re putting in to help us be better, mentally. Cheers bro.

    New fan!
There are few golf podcasts that talk about the mental aspect. Which I believe is the hardest obstacle to overcome. I throughly enjoy each episode and relate to a lot of their content. Highly recommend for any level of golfer
  • d.a.neal
Always look forward to tapping play
Alex and Evan do such a great job of helping listeners like me unravel the mental mess that comes with the game. It may or may not help lower your handicap but definitely confident it will remind you that enjoying the game is the most important thing. Thanks fellas!
  • Dangos327
    Great content for every headspace!
No matter your headspace about your golf game, there are plenty of episodes that will help! I just did a 10 hour road trip and listened to the pod the entire way!

    Get out of your head!
Evan and Matt are great hosts and bring you an interesting show. Either talking from their own experiences or interviewing guests I’m always picking up valuable nuggets while my commute seems to fly by.
  • Boonesdad
If only I found this years ago
Negative self talk and unrealistic expectations were preventing me from enjoying the game and playing to my potential. Within the first few episodes I was hooked and still can’t get enough! One of my favorite takeaways has to be counting your “anyway shots” and negative self talk. I was blown away at just how many times a round I was horrible to myself and took shots when I shouldn’t have. Do yourself a favor, get on the TRAIN!
  • Dobbs1023
    Golf is fun again!
This podcast has been so great for my mental when on and off the course. So many great tips, tricks and guests on this show. Being able to take these tricks straight to my golf game has been so amazing and really did bring the fun back in to the game. 5/5!! Mike D

    Many thanks!
The mix of Ev and Cerm are great. Ev has more relatable issues and thoughts but expresses those as we would hope to communicate the mental roller coaster of golf. Cerm equalizes it out with his massive experiments of D1 golf. Great team, you can tell how enjoyable what they do as evidenced by so many big names wanting to share their stories on the pod. Thanks for the content guys as the game continues to shine the light on importance of mental golf strength, your show is appreciated.

    My favorite podcast!
The Par Train has helped me so much! I feel like a different person on the course and in life. I want to share this podcast with my foursome… But I’m not, because I feel like the mental game training is giving me an advantage lol. Keep up the good work guys!

    I’m on board
I’ve recently returned into golf after several years off. I stopped playing because I felt my level of play didn’t match my perception of how well I could. I found I was getting too wrapped up and obsessed with improvement which led me down the frustration path. Now coming back, I’m starting to fall back into old patterns of negativity. Enter Ev and Cerm. This pod cast is just what I’ve been needing. Not only am I learning a lot about golf mentality but also how I can apply these lessons to my career and other areas. It’s a fun show, good humor, and very knowledgeable guests. All aboard!

    Mental Game Masters!
My name is Seth Graber and I’ve arguably underperformed my whole golf career simply due to the mental game. A few months ago after being upset with myself and playing poorly in a nationals event, I searched for something to make my game better. Somehow I stumbled across Thepartrain and boy did I get lucky. I set a goal at the beginning of the fall season to win this years nationals. The first two out of 3 events I won but still felt like there was a void missing. Then I started really listening to the par train. I began to really evaluate my mental game and train it to let go and accept of what happens. Not only did I feel more confidence with my game, but I felt like a better person. Short story short, the third regional event I played, I finished tied-2nd but felt better with my mental game. I didn’t feel like I just fought a war. Fast forward to nationals this year, I played my practice rounds and at the end of my second practice round I almost panicked but the par train helped me understand how to keep my nerves in check and I was able to shut that down quickly. After the first round, I felt I played too conservative and was 6 shots back heading into the second day. With the conditions super cold and windy, I felt that i had to play aggressive but be patient with the results and I could come out on top. After making 10 straight pars, I was talking to my girlfriend and told her “I need to make something happen.” I’ve never been in a situation where I really had to go and get the win, so the nerves were through the roof. I proceeded to birdie the next two. Then with 2 to play, I was 3 back. Instead of playing 16 conservative and reverting to a comfort zone, I kept the petal to the metal. I proceeded to hit driver and got lucky that I even found it; hit one of the greatest wedges of my life and birdied 16. 17 I made a crazy 30 foot putt to put me to one back. Fast forward, I parred the last thinking I hadn’t won the tournament and I was okay with that. I played how I needed to and was happy with my round. I came to find out that the guy ahead of me doubled his last hole and I won the event. That was the largest come back I’ve ever had and I couldn’t have done it without the par train. I learned to keep my nerves in check and I was able to stay aggressive and swing freely throughout my round. The par train taught me to let go and keep the petal to the metal versus trying to hold on to my round. I carded a bogey free 68 (4 under) to come back six shots in super harsh conditions. Simply by altering my mental game, I was able to succeed finally on a bigger stage. I’ve never had to worry whether I hit a good or bad shot anymore and I’m reminded by the par train to control the controllables. Long story short, the pat train has helped put it in perspective that our worst enemy is ourselves and we have to get out of own way. This was a surreal moment for me and I’m very thankful for the par train for helping me with my mental game!

    Best golf podcast.
I searched through a lot of golf podcasts to find something engaging and applicable to my game. This is it. This is the best golf podcast. Period. Great work guys. Already I’ve taken a lot from the mental side and applied it. It’s fun. I’m enjoying the game more and I know scores will follow. Keep it rolling!!!

    This Podcast is Excellent
Hey guys, just want to give you a big thank you. I played this morning, toughest course in my area and tee’d off just before 7am. 50degrees and range wasn’t open so no chance to warm up….5 over after the 1st hole 🤦‍♂️ Normally I’d spiral and think “Well there goes the round” but not this time. I tried to enjoy the ride, to stick to my plan, stay mindless and think of the glass of “dirty water”. After it was all said and done, I shot in the low 80s and my 2nd best round ever for that course. Love what you guys do🚂🚂
  • JoeDimes
    Great podcast with incredible content
I’ve been listening now for about 6 months, and it is amazing how it has changed how I think about the game and the results that have come from those changes… after many years of no success my partner and I recently won my member-guest tournament, and I honestly don’t think it would have been remotely possible without incorporating many of the things talked about on this podcast… keep up the great show and thanks!!

    Best golf pod!
Started following the par train on IG about a year ago. I started feeling sorry about myself and my golf game. After listening to a few episodes, I started to have fun again playing golf and posting lower scores! Been a follower ever since.

    Enjoy the Ride
What’s up boys! My buddy told me about the pod. Have been listening for the last few months religiously and it has made a huge impact on my golf game. Im a former college player who got burnt out mentally and lost my desire to play competitive golf for 5 years. Finally got the itch the play competitively again and have spent the last 8 months working hard on the game in preparation for a run on the mini tours. Have gone from a 3 handicap to a +4. Most of which over the past few months since I’ve been #EnjoyingtheRide. Really love the content on mental golf type. These tidbits have been helped me change my game.

    Changed my view
I consider myself a weekend warrior golfer but man I think about playing all the time. I used to get LIVID when rounds would go poorly, but why? This podcast help me learn to be like ehh I’m an amateur so I need to be less hard on myself, manage my expectations. Highly recommend to you learn to enjoy the rounds that are bad, but be in the right mindset to keep it going when they’re going well
