    Top notch
Downtime always has the best guests and info, also avoids getting stuck in one sector like dh, enduro, etc. Love heading out for long rides and getting into a Downtime podcast.

    Give it a listen…
I highly recommend giving this podcast to listen. It provides great insight into the sport. One of the most impressive aspects of the Downtime podcast is Chris Hall’s interview style. He asks good questions and then lets the interviewee respond His style and cadence are very easy-going.

    Overt sexism
During the Lenzerheide pre-race show Chris Kilmurray said that a lot of women rely on speed to get through features because they don’t have slow speed skill… that it can be quite noticeable that they lack basic bike riding ability. Excuse me what? A majority of women in the downhill WORLD CUP don’t have basic bike riding ability? I was disappointed Chris Hall didn’t speak up to defend all of these phenomenal top athletes with AMAZING bike riding skills. Overt sexism like that should be shut down immediately. I’m usually a big fan of this podcast but this was a huge disappointment and very offensive. I hope that in the next episode Chris Hall apologizes for that or I will be telling all of my friends to not listen.

    Casual Sexism
Generally love the show, but really disappointed to not hear any push back when Chris Kilmurray made the assertion that most women in the DH World freaking Cup are lacking “basic bike riding ability”. Would love to hear more female representation in the podcast, rather than a round table of men giving less time to the women’s category and when they do bring it up, often talk down their riding abilities.

The definitive Downhill and Enduro podcast
This podcast is the best produced and most informative look into downhill and enduro racing. All the biggest stars and racers appear on the podcast along with the top manufacturers. The podcast is excellently produced and has no real rival in the areas that it covers.

Outstanding and can’t wait for the next episode!
Absolutely my favorite podcast by far! Informative, entertaining, interesting and addicting. The combination of interviews of individuals from all around the industry, male or female, racer or engineer, to trainers and coaches, comparisons of equipment, state of the sport and industry, it’s all covered. Not to mention it gets topped off with the Downtime EP print!

Among the best MTB pods available
Its difficult to justfy the value here just because its so saturated: UK based, Euro heavy but US commentary from Neko & Eliot: its kinda global. A wide range of interviews & input from riders, coaches, male & female, and it takes me 3-4 listens per pod to soak it up. Easily among my most droolingly awaited pod downloads of the week - even more so when there are extras!

    Amazing, well curated content
Chris does an excellent job covering all aspects of Mountain biking. Everything from gear design, production and testing to mental/physical training and coaching. All along the way there are bits of history sprinkled in from all kinds of guests that bring perspective to the sport that anyone can enjoy.

    The best
Without a doubt the best bike related podcast out there. Always top quality content and great guests. Always looking forward to a new episode drop. Especially love the ones with Neko and Elliot during race season. Thanks for the great listening material for the long drives and days at the shop.

    Great Podcast!
This is my favorite podcast! I especially like the more technical episodes about new products and technologies. And the episodes about wind tunnel testing were very interesting. I wish we could have more details about the results. Keep these technical podcasts coming!

Best maybe podcast I’ve found yet.
The production quality, questions, and content is the best there is for mtb podcasts.

Makes my commute an opportunity instead of a drag
I have come to really look forward to this podcast and it is a welcome surprise whenever a new episode becomes available. Chris provides a nice structure and keeps the conversation moving in a way that reveals a lot about the unique personality and experience of each guest while also keeping it topical. Every episode has something that a mountain bike enthusiast can take away and think about or put into action. It is not easy to interview people. It takes research, hard work, and talent to make it happen in a really meaningful way. Chris is definitely making it happen and is improving his craft with each episode.

Made by a Rider, For Riders
This podcast has been a great way to bridge my less frequent rides as a newish father. It is a struggle to get the stars to align sometimes. I’ve also made some purchases based on the interviews which have definitely made riding more enjoyable. My wallet hates me, but my bike does not! Also it’s always interesting that most pros pick skills coaching as their “if you had 150 quid, what would you buy” so I think I might try that as I’ve hit a wall skills wise. Trouble is where does one find a coach that is reasonably priced and worth my time away from my family? My buddies are firmly in the, “just ride your bike” camp. Maybe it’s a New England, USA thing. Hopefully further listens will provide an answer!

    Great Podcast!
Awesome interview with Bruni - excellent questions, great convo, really in-depth. Good stuff, thanks!
  • Endurohase
    Borderline great.
Good guests, intelligent conversation, useful information but the host is like listening to wallpaper paste dry. If the guest is entertaining, the episode is great. If the guest is not that charismatic, the episode can be a struggle to get through - despite the good information being shared.

    Great Podcast
Thanks for putting out great content to help get me through my work day!!

Finally a quality podcast for mountain bikers!
Great variety of interviews and topics, from top athletes to technology all focuses on gravity oriented riding. Please keep up the great show!

Great interviewer and solid lineup of guests
Chris Hall is a really excellent interviewer; each episode he comes prepared with excellent questions, always including a few that stretch the interviewee a bit and get at something that's really specific to their career, interests, personality or history. And he asks his questions and knows exactly how long to step back and let the guest speak without getting rambly. Obviously MTB-focused, but anyone who's interested in doing interview journalism could genuinely take a clinic on this show.

    Let’s The Guest Talk
I love the smooth flow and patience of this podcast. All too often the host steam rolls over the guests before they can get their point across. Not so here. Good pace and smooth flow to each show. Love it!
  • Derek Theil
    Enjoyed every episode
I really like to hear how somebody got involved in the sport or how they prepair for an upcoming event. It's nice to find out their backstory and not just what they have accomplished. Chris keep up the good work! Cheers from Portage, MI

    Genuine Podcast
Chris does a great job at asking unique questions that separate his podcast from some of the other mtb podcasts out there. Thanks Chris for doing such great work, a Downtime Podcast shirt is in my very near future!

    Mr.
Been into the mountain bike world for a long time...back to the John Tomac days. My son is a pro downhiller here in the USA. The mountain bike community has always felt like family to me and in many ways it has been and continues to be. Your podcasts have been such a gem of a find, I feel I am even more connected to my Mountain Bike Family because of your podcasts. Thanks Brother for putting this out into the universe. Keep on keeping on!! All the best!! ET

    One of my favorites
Downtime has become one of my favorites! The host, Chris, is curious and smart and leads the conversations in an interesting manner. The guests are diverse and the topics they cover are usually a little different compared to the routine media interviews you’re used to. Keep up the good work!

More quality Mtb podcasts like this one.
Downtime Mtb podcast is an excellent well done podcast. As a fan of Mtb that came to it later in life. Podcasts like downtime are a great resource for educating yourself and for fun. I listen at work and just soak it all up. Great guests and great info. Keep em coming!!

    Best MTB podcast I’ve heard!
Been listening to podcasts for almost 10 years now and for some reason I hadn’t stumbled across this gem! As an avid mountain biker I enjoy this podcast a great deal. Chris is a great interviewer who is well prepared and knowledgeable and asks insightful questions that I think the guests appreciate (I know I do!). Cheers from Central California 🍻

Best MTB podcast, learn something in every episode
I love mountain biking and I’m also a podcast junkie so it shouldn’t be too surprising that I’ve repeatedly tried every biking podcast out there and Downtime is definitely the best. Here are a few reasons why: The guests, they range from big names like Jerome, Greg M., Tracy Moseley, and Aaron Gwin to experts like Jordi (at Fox) and John Hall. Next, Chris (the interviewer) asks insightful questions and I learn something from every episode. There have been a few guests that I thought “why listen to that person” but listened anyway and afterwards thought “wow, I really like that person” and/or “that was very interesting”. (That is a sign of a good interviewer.) Chris also lets his guests speak and doesn’t interrupt them. (This occurs regularly in another certain mtb podcast.) My only critique would be that I would like longer episodes but to be fair does an addict ever say they want less?
  • KFYork
    A proper podcast.
Many podcasts - ironically - don’t let the interviewee say much. Rather, the interviewer often interrupts and goes on with drivel. The Downtime podcast allows for the interviewee to say what they’ve to say. Then, properly thought out follow-up questions ensue. Job well done. Give it a listen if you’ve not yet!

    Weekly Bike Nerd Fix
What a great podcast for those of us who love the sport. I especially love the personal stories of the top pro’s and how they got into the sport, and how they stay at the top of their game. I look forward to a new one every week.

    Cheers from Panama!
Loving this podcast! You guys should do something along the lines of not overdoing things like fancy drivetrains or looking up to the finest carbon for casual riders, The MTB rabbit hole can drag you in so easily that we forget to be grateful for what we have
