    In the rocks
Great podcast with Charles Joly. Thankfully, the Aviary sell the glass and the slingshot for the iIn The Rocks cocktail. I just make my own ice spheres with a round mold that I freeze for 1 1/2 hours and then flip over and freeze for another 1 1/2 hours. That gives me a quarter inch shell which I’m able to then drain to put the cocktail into. Always completely blows everyone’s mind when they see one of those at a home bar. Keep up the great work

    Just plain bad
Sometimes not listen is way better than listening to the talking heads that drone on and on…

    Enjoyable AND Informative
As a home mixologist, I have learned so much from this podcast. Between the interviews with distillers, the history lessons and the deep dives into various corners of bar culture, I am never bored and I always feel smarter after an episode.

    My very favorite podcast!
I started listening to Modern Bar Cart in August 2019 and I haven’t missed an episode since! It’s smart, witty, informative, and an utter joy to listen to. I love Eric’s smooth, easy voice and the lovely way he tells a story. As a cocktail enthusiast, Modern Bar Cart hits all the right notes— what bars to check out, great information from industry heavyweights, how to mix an excellent cocktail, and new and different spirits to try! A few of my favorite episodes are: 109: Saint Benevolence Rum with Chase Babcock, 138: The Carmen San Diego of Food and Drink with Virginia Miller, and 135: St George Spirits with Lance Winters. Thank you for making this amazing podcast!

The Right Mix (pun maybe intended)
Modern Bar Cart is the right mix of practical advice, informative tidbits of knowledge, wit, and personality. Eric's natural talents as a former educator shine through as he works through the syllabus of the 100-level survey course on sticking your bar, buying glassware, and mixing your first drinks. As he delves into advanced classes on esoteric topics like herbalist remedies and gilded instruments from the literal gilded age, I feel confident taking the journey and learning, not through trial and error, but through the guidance of a trusted companion. Can't wait to see what he puts out next.

    Love it!
This is the perfect podcast for someone looking to dip their toes into the world of cocktails. Ive met Eric in person a few times and I love how he can distill (heh heh) complex topics down to a level even a newbie like me can understand. This podcast is the next best thing to sitting across the table and learning from the master in person!

    classin' up
so glad I came across this podcast. I've wanted to get into cocktails (and less rum n' cokes) but wasn't sure where to start without looking silly or making something gross. This podcast is a crash course to hit the ground running.
