Being an avid fly fisher woman and love the diversity of fly fishing for many species, I find Wet Fly Swing Podcast covers it all! From local legends to far away places, this podcast is valuable to me planning trips, catching different species and listening to some VERY interesting and informative fellow fly fishers. Where’ve You Been all my life?

I only recently discovered the Wet Fly Swing Fly Fishing Podcast and am sorry I’ve been missing out. There’s not enough time in the day to catch up on what I’ve missed so I have to pick and choose. Great stuff. The giveaways are a big draw too.

Binge worthy!

I’ve been listening almost daily for a month and barely scratching the surface, it’s great to hear from the legends of the sport and the history of Spey and skagit. Really great recent episodes with Dec and Tom, keep them coming Dave!! Hope you keep working on Ed Ward to round off some history 👍

An improvement over early days

I listed to an earlier episode when Dave interviewed the host of the New Flyfisher. It was extremely irritating on the number of times Dave interrupted the guest mid sentence. There’s much less of that today but hopefully Dave reads this and is mindful of that.

I think this is the most well produced podcast about fly fishing. Dave is a great interviewer - and such excellent guests! Like #290 with the great Harry Murray! I have really enjoyed listening to past episodes.

Teaching an old dog new tricks

I started tying flies when I was 9 and learned how to fish them when I was 10. Dave brings great information and personalities to my commutes that used to take days for me to digest through magazines and books 40 years ago. I love all of the crafters of boats, nets and rods he includes on the podcast. Keep up the great work Dave.

Dave brings in people to go over every aspect of the fly fishing experience! I wanted to fish for bass, listened to a few bass guys Dave brought on, and caught 35 fish my first day! Also, he brings on lots of Oregonians which is of course a plus!

Great Guests

The interviewer has great guests. He interrupts them incessantly to add comments like “uh yeah” or “right” he then asks two or more questions at once that are unrelated to each other. You can hear him googling away what to ask next while the guest is talking. His lack of comprehension is obvious and rather distracting. Great guests though.

Informative show

Dave has lots of interesting and knowledgeable guests on. If you don’t live in the PNW, some of it might be a little irrelevant, but even from Colorado I find many of his episodes interesting. My only holdup is that I wish there were less fly tying content. Nothing against the guests or fly tying in general, I just feel like it’s a hard topic to cover well via audio. Other than that, great show!
