Been listening for a few months now and have to say, this is the best football podcast out there.

Been listening to you since you were with Guy. Been enjoying both of you solo, and glad to see you get national attention! Keep it up, enjoy your takes. Also don’t know if this idea has been crossed but I was listening and thought about doing a segment called punt or go for it. Thanks for the great listen.

I know you gotta make a living but dude.. It's 1:1 takes versus ads. Yes, I realize I can fast-forward but I find myself fast forwarding more than listening. I've listened to you for years but I am moving on.

You were rattling off places that listen to the pod: add Vietnam to the list. Your pod is a lifeline for football fans. Now, why do we get this other stuff we don’t ask for?

You have a golf Pod. Do that there.

Great insight on the game of football, if you can make it through the mindless and endless advertising reads. Seriously the ratio of ads to actual content here are out of whack.

To avoid crazy amounts of commercials and sponsored stuff. Great content but the commercials are just insane.

Dont mind some advertising for good content but the amount of commercials in a typical episode is horrifying. Content is normally good similar (sometimes too similar) to cowherd’s pod. If you handle nonstop ads this pod might be for you.

He has some good points, but it’s h possible to listen to when the podcast literally starts with 8 minutes of ads.

I’ve been listening to Cowherd as my main sports show/pod for over a decade. Switched to John. Love it, keep up the good work (Colin is way too big of an Aaron Rogers Hater)

When this dude can stick to sports he’s good . When he’s on with Colin he knows to keep it to sports . But every episode on his own he just has to bring his political thoughts. I listen to sports to NOT listen to political radio. He said he had to leave the Bay Area to stop being angry all the time . You still are man. Let it go . Talk about football. Sheesh

But, despite the insights and perspective, the show has a primarily negative tone. Very cynical and the cussing doesn’t help. I would suggest taking cues from Cowherd and bring the facts without the sarcasm and cussing…dive deeper into player eval and the GM lense.

I live the content, but please fix your saliva, drinking and other gross sounds right in my ear. Please, please find a way to fix this, do you listen to your own pod? Please do and you will lot be happy. Besides that it’s a great pod.

Not a bad podcast, but can this man go one podcast without mentioning bill parcells? Makes a lot of very obvious statements and the first 10% of the podcast are entirely ads

Being a former scout/front office personnel gives John a great perspective on how teams operate and run their business. He’s worked for one of the best. He’s very concise and confident in his answers and takes. He has great guests and puts out a lot of content without being repetitive. I wish he could fill in for Colin Cowherd’s when he takes time off.

I’ll start with that actual content is great. John has a unique perspective on the NFL But minus one star for 12-15 minutes of ads and live reads during the show. This is part of what killed the Sports Talk Radio universe. I understand some, but they’re overdoing it And learn to pronounce “fugazi”, watch Donnie Brasco again, the Sopranos, or even ask Italian.

Terrific podcast to add to your NFL podcast playlist. Short, sweet, to the point. Very knowledgeable with great takes. Must listen!

6 minutes of commercials to start the show is insane. Not to mention the many in between. Not on my regular rotation cause I’m not dealing with that on a daily basis

Brock Purdy has a better rating by over 10 points more yards and crushed the Cowboys head to head and you want to say Dak solidified being MVP after beating the Eagles? What planet are you living on? Please give more intelligent takes. Brock Purdy should be MVP or has just as much of a case as Dak for MVP, please back up what you say with numbers not “he has been in the league longer” huh? I am glad you don’t vote for MVP.

John is great, but this podcast has become a cesspool of advertisements. The show often doesn’t start until the 5 minute mark. Even then, there are routine ads throughout the show. They will even be mixed in with the actual content. This has only gotten worse since he joined Colin and The Volume, which is a shame becasue John is really talented. I wouldn’t be surprised if more than half the show is advertisements at this point.

The guy does zero homework, much like is idol Cowherd. If you’re not terribly intelligent this is a great podcast for you. Even though John isn’t very sharp with respect to football, he is fun to listen to when he’s talking about gambling. BTW, John is proof that anyone can work in the NFL.

John is a great voice to listen to when it comes to college and pro football. When you listen just keep in mind that there will ALWAYS be a segment on the 49ers. Doesn’t matter the topic.

Been listening to John almost 2 yrs love his takes n knowledge of the league I’m not into golf so I skip the GOLO EPISODES

When he talks football it’s a good podcast between the tons & tons of commercials UGH! The other issue is that some episodes are golf REALLY! If I wanted golf I would listen to a golf podcast.

Way too many ads. First 5 minutes of show is ads. Plus lots of long ad interrupts. I get you’re trynna make money but it takes away from the product in my opinion.

Been a loyal listener since day 1 when you first got on Colin’s feed. Now I listen to you (and Middlekauf) WAY more than Colin. Stay in your you lane with the slurs, my friend. You started your 6/1 podcast with “I’m not a teacher! I don’t take the summers off!” Unnecessary. You wouldn’t be where you are without teachers.

Quickly became one of my favorite podcasts. Enjoy the content and the point of view.

I have been listening to your podcast the past couple years and lately it has been the same amount of content as there have been ad reads. I know you moved and have to make your money but you have to find the right balance. It’s frustrating pulling out my phone every 5 min just to skip 2.5 min.

John has an awesome personality and provides great insight into the NFL. 95% of what he says is on the money and usually a breath of fresh air. That said - two gripes with the pod. First, John needs to stop drinking water in the middle of his talks… you can literally hear him drinking and swallowing the water which is super weird to listen to. Second, the ads needs to be spread out more or cut down. Understand it’s a business and you gotta make money but it’s truthfully getting ridiculous. I’ve been a listener now for 4 years and it’s gotten progressively worse and worse.

Great show, been listening for 3 years. You’re pre-content ads and announcements are almost 7 minutes these day! Ridiculous!

Listen consistently, but would love if he could at least stagger his ad reads. “Can I tell you about my friends at game time?” Is getting OLD. Just switch it up a bit, would make things refreshing

I’m willing to put up with the 4 1/2 minute opening that is mostly commercials because I find your football insight to be very strong. I also think percentagewise you blast more commercials than the average podcast during the main body of the show? Your content is excellent and you’ve got to make a living! However, mixing in the golf with the amount of commercials versus straight up football talk has me in a bunch of fellow sales reps ready to walk from the show. We don’t need to hear about the quality of Phoenix area golf courses and don’t care about this country club sport. Otherwise, thanks for the best inside scout’s view of football available.
