    Boooooooring…
I can’t believe I hung in there as long as I did… This lady drones on and on in a monotone voice like Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and manages to say nothing interesting or useful the entire time. She may as well be reading the ingredients on the back of a box of laundry detergent, because I learned nothing about training dogs, only that her husband needs to step up his dog-walking game now that she’s pregnant. It seems she’s using the podcast as a diary or family therapy session, and I’m not sure how I’m supposed to apply it to training my own dogs. I guess I’ll search elsewhere to find out how to stop them from pissing all over my house.

We get it; you don’t like Cesar Milan.
I love the content that’s actually about dogs, but there are so many episodes just devoted to hating on Cesar Milan. I don’t like the man or his methods either, but it just seems obsessive and it’s not interesting.

    Honest and insightful
Listened to the latest episode on the Treat Clincher, an informational analysis of new dog product with a realistic look at its value proposition and whether it’s worth its price tag. Helpful commentary for dog owners on a product that could make their lives easier and their dogs’ lives more enriched. Thanks for the deep dive!

    Helpful and informative!
I love how this podcast touches on different topics related to positive reinforcement dog training! Great for all pet parents and pet professionals!

Treasure trove of dog training insight
There is something here for everyone. Loved the episodes on how to teach a perfect drop it, etc. and insight on Caesar Milan. Thank you and keep the episodes coming!

    Actionable insights
Annie’s podcast is excellent because it provides actionable advice and information. I have been listening for a few years now and have implemented a number of her strategies with my reactive dog, Harry. Highly recommend this podcast to any dog parent!

    The Pawfect Podcast!
Annie dedicates herself to this beautiful platform at SFTD, providing a network where dog lovers, dog enthusiasts, and dog professionals can connect, learn, and grow. Annie provides her listeners with an infinite wealth of wisdom, expertise and reward-based clicker training techniques to help us cultivate better relationships with our beloved pups. Annie captivates her audience with her lovely presence, and deep rooted passion for dogs. Her podcasts are interactive, educational, and FUN! As a fellow reward- based dog trainer and graduate of the KPA academy, I cannot recommend Annie’s podcast highly enough!!! Thank you for all that you do!

Life changing applicable teaching for both me and my dog
These podcasts have been such a gift. First one I caught early on was about loose leash training, and it helped me teach my stubborn Frenchie mix how to walk well in the city from an early age. From there, I was hooked. Annie and her school do an amazing job of teaching proven, science-based techniques that work. These podcasts offer great real life tips and information that you can use to make life happier and healthier with your dog. (Maybe some human lessons too.) Highly recommend.

    Two paws up!
Intelligent, thoughtful, well researched, informative, and experienced podcast. Host Annie has empathy for her clients & their fur babies. Her calm disposition complements the positive reinforcement training techniques utilized at School For The Dogs. Podcast often includes a variety of guests, with discussions on the logic & reasoning behind why it’s important to properly train our dogs. A+

    Great show for pet owners!
Very glad I listened. Good advice, good banter, good dog talk. As a cat owner, I didn’t feel excluded, the chat was right for me and for all non-dog pet owners. Don't shy away.

Awesome podcast for new and experienced dog owners
I’m a first-time dog owner and was really nervous about getting a puppy. I started listening to this show a few weeks before I got my puppy because I planned on attending SFTD’s puppy kindergarten. The podcasts are fascinating, full of smart information that’s interesting for experienced dog owners, but accessible for newbies. She has some great guests on, too. Love it.

Orange man bad syndrome: another well-trained citizen
Ai ai ai, for a smart lady who gives good training advice, she has yet to see the President beyond the promulgated mainstream narrative of Donald Trump. Tis a shame, but not surprising as there are still many, like this host, whom buy into the caricature of the President as a “Bully-in-chief” 😭😂 sure he’s a little blunt, but that’s hardly a sin. I urge you to dive deeper, dear Host, and relieve yourself of this false narrative. Remember also, “the higher they get, the harder they fall” in other words don’t put all your coins into the Biden-elect basket ;)

    Libertarian Politics? No thanks.
Pretty appalled this show decided to highlight a third party libertarian presidential candidate in such a close and important election.

    Learning so much from this
This is a fantastic podcast that really helps me understand my dog better and contextualize her needs. Also just a helpful way to relax these days!
  • @gilbykriss
    Smart, logical and attainable.
I love Annie’s logical approach and find that everything she says makes so much sense. ...it almost feels obvious. Her real life examples and light-hearted approach makes dog training feel attainable. She’s definitely made me a better dog owner.

Actionable guidance you can use right away!
This is a fantastic podcast that gives you actionable guidance on how to train your dog. It's not one of those that only presents concepts and then asks you to buy something else to get the specific training steps. You can listen to a cast and then go do the steps with your dog right away. It also covers other items of interest to dog owners.

    Changed our families lives
Recommended by our vet, this podcast has greatly contributed to the quality of our families lives. The easy and interesting to understand dog and human psychology anecdotes are enjoyable and sometimes hilarious. It has also helped my partner understand how to train our puppy, and in his words has “made training a lot less stressful”. Their website and shop is also wonderful! We have gotten some life-changing things for George on there. Thank you for this podcast, our Shepard/Mastiff mix is very quickly picking up on cues now and is already sitting, coming, potty trained and almost leaving it in only a few weeks!!!

    My favorite!
I got bit by the animal behavior bug and listened to so many dog training podcasts this month. Annie Grossman’s recordings for School for the Dogs is the clear winner - I listen to an episode almost daily now. She approaches positive reinforcement training with a relaxed, clear & simple focus. The guests are usually great, too, and the podcast sounds/editing are pleasant without being overwhelming. Highly recommended.

    Terrific
As I was finding my path to becoming a professional dog trainer Annie came into my life and gave me such clarity. Her willingness to share all of the knowledge she has acquired during her career is the reason I am a successful trainer today. It makes sense, then, that she started this podcast! She is so relateable, explains things clearly, plus she's just fun and clever! Whether you're a dog owner, a dog trainer or anything in between, this is the podcast for you.

Incredibly Informative! Nerd out to dog training
I absolutely love this podcast! I was considering bringing home a pupper of my own, and as a researcher by nature (law school really drills that in haha), I started diving into all the research out there, from books to popular YouTube channels. This podcast is incredibly well researched (I read a lot of the primary sources too... clearly I need a hobby... or is dog training my hobby now?!?) and informative. One aspect that really make me trust Annie - she doesn’t demand you follow her way, just gives you the information on several different paths to help you chose the right one for you (which... come to think of it... sounds like training... although clearly as it resulted in trust it WORKS). I’m certainly not a professional, but Annie clearly is a bright and compassionate dog trainer who just wants what’s best for our pups. Highly recommend! I was so impressed by the podcast that my puppy is ABSOLUTELY going to be enrolled in the School for the Dogs. They are not the closest (although to be fair I do live in Manhattan) but I certainly trust them now!
  • Ferdie.k9
    Educational and compassionate
I’m a wildlife biologist and professional animal trainer. SFTD’s podcast is one of the few dog training podcasts around that promotes and educates people about reward-based training. This is a great podcast for dog guardians who want to learn much more about the science behind their dog’s behavior without being too technical with scientific jargon. I’m so glad that Annie is doing this.
  • citystrut
    Practical and fun!
As a trainer, I listen to Annie to stay on the pulse of the modern dog! Thanks for keeping us current!

    Best Dog Podcast
This is the only dog podcast I listen to, and I’ve tried several of them. Annie is so thorough and detailed without being boring - or maybe I just find dog and owner psychology really interesting! Best of all, I asked a question on her voice message because I didn’t know who else to ask, and only two weeks later, she had a detailed response on the podcast. Thanks for making me a better dog owner, Annie!
  • CherrieMa
    Thoughtful, educational, and fun...
Annie does a great job with leading topics and discussions that are relevant to all dog lovers. She puts in a lot of time for this to be a channel that is supportive of dogs and dog owners. You won't leave an episode without learning more than a few things. Clear audio, interesting topics, and fun, all wrapped into one.

    Encouraging and refreshing
I’ve struggled finding dog trainers locally that had the same philosophy as I do about dogs. This podcast has been amazing! I’m a huge fan of positive reinforcement and feel that the podcast explains various aspects of dog training in an easy to process and utilize format!! Huge fan!!

The Dog Training equivalent of the NYTimes Podcast
I love a well produced podcast. The music is original and quirky, the voice recording is clear and the content is well put together. This is a podcast that leaves me with no further questions. Annie picks a topic and takes a deep dive into the origins/history, the societal relevance, discusses root causes and explains the jargon-filled field of animal behavior and training into concepts we can understand. The information is well researched which can be difficult in an unregulated field. The arrangement of information provided in each episode is well thought out and flows like a NYTimes The Daily Podcast. Thank you!
