    It’s not about baking.
    Ok, technically it IS about baking. But even for a non-baker like me, this podcast is a treat. Host Mark Dyck is authentic, funny, knowledgeable, and kind. He asks great questions of his guests, and shares so many brilliant nuggets of his own. (The Mistake Cast was a personal favorite. The way Mark reframed his “goof” and vulnerably shared his foibles was heaven... and hysterical.) Give this podcast a listen! I keep coming back for more.

    Thoroughly enjoy these podcast
    I'm a moderately serious home baker. I have no plans of ever taking the giant leap of trying to open my own bakery. But I thoroughly enjoy listening to these interviews with all of these small bakery shop owners who have followed their passion. I've listened to about a dozen episodes over the weeks. Part of the joy is that each has focused on a different aspect of this world of baking and small scale entrepreneurs. I would higlly recommend the series, whether you are a serious baker, or someone trying to go in a new direction and follow your dream.

    I recently discovered this podcast via Bread magazine. As a small Breadery in our first year, we love hearing stories about how new bakers got started with their businesses. Please take note that there are no recipes or methods showcased in this podcast but rather it talks about the life of a baker and the day to day struggles and successes they face. Also importantly it speaks to the “why” these fine folks became bakers and shares what they love about fresh breads and pastries and the joy it brings their customers. So if you’re baking in the early dawn hours and want some inspirational company, tune into Rise Up!

    This is the kind of podcast I've longed for for ages! Mark provides a podcast with great conversations and interviews. Marks' enthusiasm and love of baking really shines through with everyone he talks to. I love hearing perspectives and experiences on bakeries and baking from others in the trade. Great listening. Some of the audio quality could be improved a bit, but the content is great. I look forward to all the episodes to come.

    So I first listened to this podcast while shaping 100 pretzels by hand at my bench. It's a great way to find out what goes on in other peoples bakeries without leaving your own!
