The Remnant Radio's Podcast

190

The Remnant Radio educates and equips believers in God's Word & Spirit, exploring Christian theology, church history, and the gifts of the Spirit in a manner that is engaging, relatable, and inspiring. Weekly, we bring together Christian influencers from various denominations to explore theology, church history, and the gifts of the Spirit. We don't always agree with the views of our guests. And, we don’t expect that you will always agree, either. But we are brothers and sisters in Christ, and we agree to humbly approach God’s Word so we can better understand it together.

In each episode, we strive to offer constructive dialogue and healthy pushback without veering into argumentative or combative territory. Expect each Remnant Radio episode to be not only informative but also encouraging, entertaining, and, hopefully, inspiring. Our ultimate goal is to help every individual break out of their theological echo chamber and engage in the conversation.

    IHOPKC
I am disappointed with how they handled the crisis at IHOPKC. From an insider’s perspective, it seemed they only platform one side of the conversation and disregarded a whole other side. I used to trust their takes on issues in the Body that need correction. Now I don’t feel I can trust them anymore. If they handled the crisis at my church in this manner, I cannot trust that their views are thoroughly researched and fairly reported for ANY other issue. Remnant, you have contributed to much strife and division in the Body of Christ by bringing your biases and past issues in houses of prayer to this discussion. You have no idea how harmful your content has been in bringing reproach and a false lens over a community that has been trying to pick up the pieces and move forward in a healthy direction. Love believes all things. Stop putting us in Christian jail.

    Disappointed
I’m so disappointed. I used to be such a fan, Patreon supporter and follower of the show for many years, but how they’re treating the IHOPKC situation is wrong from my perspective. They have a narrow scope, a lack of due diligence, and have a total disregard for the collection of incredible saints who are still serving in IHOP’s prayer room because the Lord is still asking them to! Remnant is actually perpetuating division in the body and saying things that are false, and I just didn’t expect this of them. I think maybe one of the hosts is still dealing with his own pain and projecting. I understand that and have a lot of sympathy for pain from the church… but it’s not okay to do that so publicly when you have a lot of influence.

    Informative
Information these gentlemen provide is historically sound, reassured my decision to leave churchianity and pursue God with scripture rather than doctrines of men. May the Father bless and keep them.

    Religious extremism
Sounds like these people have too much lead in their diet.

    One of my favorites!
Great podcast! It’s refreshing to listen to a charismatic podcast that is Biblically founded and that avoids heresy like the plague!

    Favorite 2 podcasts!
This episode about the Law and Gospel distinction was so good! My 2 favorite podcasts together in one show was already amazing but then the discussion by all 4 pastors about the Gospel message of rest in Jesus’ work vs pietism was incredible! I recommend The Remnant and Theocast for well researched theological discussions that anyone (not just well educated theologians) can understand. Always thought provoking!

    Incredible
This show is absolutely phenomenal! It’s so refreshing to hear an eagerness to dive into different theological perspectives in order to truly comprehend what Scripture says!

Worth adding to your regular podcast list
Good discussions from a younger generation of pastors who met in college and continue in friendship and fellowship. I listen frequently. They discuss important issues in a thoughtful and God-honoring way. On rare occasion youthful wisdom and inexperience is displayed, particularly when they criticize more seasoned pastors and teachers. But I still appreciate their honesty. Questions are a good thing.

    Not heretical, but not great
I originally started following them because of Heiser, but they’re not very solid. They have a clear bent towards the supernatural, which is fine, but they’ve defended people and churches that deserve full condemnation like bethel church and Bill Johnson. Their view of prophecy completely ignores prophetical requirements found in Deut 13 and 18. They also aren’t very critical about how gifts should be exercised, in violation of 1 Cor 14. They believe the true gospel, but they’re far too willing to let people with heretical ideas just keep talking. Not a place for critical thinkers. You won’t learn anything useful here. Those listening on around you might even be fooled. Very little rigor here: they’re blind leaders of the blind.

Great listen for reformed church folk
As someone who leans towards reformed theology, I appreciate the biblically sound perspective of these guys. We are all the church, and I will not stay siloed from charismatics or others who may have disagreements with my church leaders. We are all the Church, and I don’t think any one church or denomination has it all figured out 100%.

    Solid Source
These guys do a great job of bringing solid Bible teaching and doctrine to the charismatic world. We really need that.Holy spirit, experience and deep solid teaching are a great combination. In the Christian community, those two are separated, all too often.

    Decent Conversations
Worth a try. They’re younger than my usual listening taste, but they seem ok for making sense of the chaos out there. Michael Miller you are easy to listen to. Speaking Truth and Spirit isn’t always fun, but I appreciate that you do it. You should have your own show.
  • ForHisKingdom3
    Humility
I so appreciate the way you guys have handled the IHOP KC situation. Instead of trying to make excuses or justify what was going on, there’s only been a willingness to repent for supporting the ministry, and a brokenness about what has been going on trying to navigate following the Holy Spirit has been a very difficult and beautiful journey throughout my Christian walk, and sometimes it is genuinely hard to figure out what visions or words or dreams are truly from God or not. I know God is able to lead me and guide me, but that doesn’t always make the discernment process simple. Maybe you guys are already heading in this direction, but it would be wonderful if this same humility could be added to some of your other content about following the Lord and discerning the Holy Spirit. Sometimes the hosts or speakers speak as though it is easy to discern based on a feeling based on a thought, or a word, or a confirmation, whether or not something is from the Lord. But but for a lot of people myself included it isn’t that easy, and even when things seem so clear, like the prophecies and words related to IHOP, things may not be as they seem. Just some feedback and good for thought. Praying for you guys.

    Great Podcast
Learned (and unlearned) so much from this podcast. The hosts are theologically grounded, gracious, and humble.

Thank you for bringing a balanced and scriptural view to topics even very hard ones. We need more of this in the body of Christ.

    Biblically-sound, Jesus-like hosts and teaching
I can’t say high enough things about Remnant Radio. I grew up cessationist Baptist and then was a missionary for 6 years under calvinistic teaching, and I’m not a very intellectual person, but this podcast is like sitting with friends while they externally process lots of ideas through a biblical lens with Jesus-likeness in their character so it’s not cringy or angry or arrogant. RR opened the box I had put God in and through their kind, passionate, gracious, biblically-saturated hearts and teaching helped me have a much more accurate and beautiful and powerful theology that I can’t help from bubbling over into every aspect of my life. I’ve seen so much fruit in and through me from their teaching! Listening to RR is like being refreshed at a spring of fresh water in my Bible-Belt desert community. I did their course in fall 2022 and went to their healing and deliverance conference in spring 2023. 10/10 recommend!

What a testimony. Not only encouraging but very enlightening about our heavenly language!

Love but ask more open ended questions
Can’t say enough good things about RR. A point to improve on would be your interview style which is many times full of leading questions, elaborate yes or no questions and overall sounds more like cross exam than conversation. Giving more space for guests to talk would improve these interviews!

    “Leaving a church” episode
Hearing Josh say “shots” in the background as Miller lays down a hard truth 🤣. Really appreciate this ministry and commitment to Christ and the Word also your love/respect for all whether they agree with you or not. Very good listen. Engaging and enlightening

    The Remnant Radio
I’ve been listening for around 3 years now and I love this podcast. They handle issues in a very balanced way with a gracious Christlike demeanor. The Michaels on the show are awesome co-hosts bringing great theological insight with interesting and relevant stories. And Josh Lewis is a great host who has really grown in his speech and knowledge over the years.

Great Podcast But Losing Its Original Purpose
I have listened to this podcast for a few years now and have really enjoyed it. The hosts seem like good guys and are very knowledgeable about theology. I have learned so much. My only criticism is that it seems like the episode topics are becoming pretty skewed towards debates about the gifts, prophecy, revival, healings, etc. While those topics are important and interesting, they are only one topic among many that Christians can tend to get into an echo chamber about. It was nice to hear a Lutheran’s view of communion, and an egalitarian v complimentarian, etc. It just seems like the show is becoming its own echo chamber instead of exposing listeners to positions they might have never heard.

    Must Listen
I absolutely love that what I’m learning about spiritual gifts, church history, and all the “ologies” (ecclesiology, christology, etc.) on this show is not just staying in my head space, but I see fruit in my day-to-day walk with Jesus! I recognize and respond to people and situations with greater biblical clarity and God is glorified! Hallelujah! Thanks for the time, effort, and obedience to the Lord in doing this show.
  • Doty Rock
    Balanced and well thought out
I love this show, how they strive to see both sides and seek the Father’s heart on all things discussed.

    My favorite.
The only podcast/ YouTube channel I’ve ever financially supported- because I just love it so much. I just wish you guys were more consistent in updating the podcast version. 🙃

    Love chu guys
I appreciate what these guys are doing. Much of their content is helpful. I have to say that their focus has changed a bit in the last year. I really liked when they brought clarity surrounding certain ministers. Michael Rountree’s attitude kind of comes off as condescending sometimes, not always. Kind of the same thing with Josh. But overall good podcast/ show.

    Great show!
This is a fantastic podcast. Very encouraging and instructional.
  • TanyaLynn5
    Absolutely INCREDIBLE content.
This podcast blesses me so much. The hosts and speakers have a posture of humility and a hunger to seek God’s face and His truth in the most pure way. As a “charismatic” lover of Jesus, these episodes have challenged and taught me many things and have allowed me to have greater context for things I’ve seen and experienced, and read in God’s word. Could not recommend this enough!!

    Where’d do you go?
I need more of these please don’t stop putting out more content. I watch you YouTube channel, but most of the time I listen while I’m driving so I need an audio only podcast. Your doing a great job. Love the show.

    The BEST podcast
I am so thankful I found this podcast. I have learned so much. I really appreciate how balanced their perspectives are and how respectful they are of their guests with opposing views. They don’t have to jump out and offer up their own opinions. Humble guys. Love Josh and the Michaels. I feel like I know them. I’ve changed my views- was a cessasionist and now am not after hearing them on the subject. Keep up the good work of Honoring Christ.

    So Refreshing
I am so glad to have found this show! The way the hosts discuss various views with grace and respect feels like water to a dry plant given all the fighting and division among believers today. We need this and more content like this!
  • Mt.6:24
    Jesus’ most neglected teachings...
More people & podcasts are talking these days about the things Jesus taught (in the 4 gospels), but there are a few of his teachings that almost never get serious coverage. Several references (EXCLUDING the “rich young ruler”) are made in Luke about selling all of one’s possessions & giving to the poor and then this teaching is shown to be taken seriously by the time we get to the book of Acts (end of chapters 2 & 4). Another powerful & often neglected paradigm-changing (IF taken at face value) teaching of Jesus is found in Mt. 6:24; Lk. 16:13-14). This has been called the “Two Masters teaching”, one being God/Love and the other/opposite one being money. What would Christianity look like, both inside its confines and to the world at large, if these teachings were given much more serious consideration and application? Take a leap of faith and dive deep into these teachings! ✌🏼

    Life Giving
Top 5 one of my favorite podcasts/YouTube channels. I have learned so much, I cannot put into words how much the Lord has transformed my life - through the wisdom and knowledge of these men, and their guests. I am so thankful! I cannot recommend this show more!!!!!!

    Ken Fish podcast
I love RR! Listening thru 52 min. Comments: 1. Folks, when we go from BC to AD, we ADD a year. Ken subtracted. Check all Dan9 commentaries about adding. 2. Dan 9’s decree was to build the City, not the temple. Cyrus and Darius 1 both gave the temple decree, but that doesn’t start the 490 years. It is either 458-57, or 445-44 under Artexertes. Sp?. 3. Still, his 1290+1335 being understood by Hebrew scholars is a good thesis and jibes with many ppls understanding of an involved Islamic end times situation. Please ref by Wordpress blog, the Un-Reformed Disciple.

    Great!
As a podcast junkie I have to say this is my favorite! I love the theological discussions and the focus on the ongoing work of the Spirit.
  • aallen554
    Solid Biblical knowledge
Solid theology . The guests can be sketchy and squishy in their theology though. I enjoy their efforts at ecumenism but Francis Chan is misrepresenting the Catholic Church/pope: I am a red pilled ex-Catholic and his comment that the Pope is trying to make Jesus the center of the church is a bald faced lie. I specifically left the Catholic church because of this heretical pope who worships the earth and the created. NOT the Creator!!!! Read his encyclicals. They are humanistic!!!!!! He is a Marxist liberation theology heretic. Please do NOT believe the Pope is Christ Centered. He IS NOT! Read what he has written. Please!

    I’ve learned so much
I love breaking beyond different traditional barriers and learning perspectives from all types of Christians! I’ve learned so much from this podcast. Love it!

    My favorite podcast
I seriously enjoy every episode of this podcast. They’re fun to listen to while taking on the serious task of bridging theological differences that often cause divisions. These simple conversations are accomplishing a great work in seeking to bring more unity in the body of Christ. Glory to God! Keep up the good work brothers.
