From the day my friend shared this Podcast to me, I have not put my Bible down. I feel like I’m learning about God for the 1st time in my life. I enjoy reading my Bible then listening to T.L.C. break down what we read and point out things I missed. The show notes are wonderful. The YouTube videos to introduce a new book are Fantastic!!! The readings for each day are short and manageable. I love God so much more than I did before. I definitely recommend. May God bless your journey!

I found this reading plan after hearing about it on Alisa Childers’ podcast. I was constantly listening to podcasts and consuming content about theology and apologetics, but that small voice inside was still asking why I wasn’t reading His word. It was intimidating to me, I was still having a hard time understanding. I prayed that God would motivate me to read his word daily, and read through the Bible in its entirety. That’s when I heard Tara-leigh saying these exact things in her interview with Alisa on her podcast. It was like she was speaking directly to me and sent an invitation I just couldn’t ignore. I’m on day 324 and reading through the Bible in its entirety for the first time. I can’t thank God enough for this reading plan and podcast!!

It helps you understand and go through the Bible

I am so appreciative of this podcast. It has encouraged me as I am reading through the Bible. Before finding TBR, I would sometimes find myself feeling guilty for not getting out of scripture what I hoped to or I would get caught up on small details in the passages. I love having this resource after I read to break everything down, and I not only no longer feel guilty after reading; I feel refreshed!

I love how DBR looks at related passages from different books to give a historical context that shapes how we understand the passages.

Absolutely love the Bible Recap. It has transformed my Bible reading time and I’ve grown increasingly passionate about really digging deep and getting into the Word every day. I love hearing Tara-Leigh’s voice and how excited and emotional she gets about God’s words and goodness. I get emotional right along with her. It’s also extremely helpful when you’re reading passages that are a bit dry and/or hard to understand. SO grateful for this study and my only regret is not starting it much sooner.

It wa so great to read Gods Word and then listen to Tara’s podcast to go deeper and understand the time and background of what was happening during that time. Highly recommend. I enjoyed it so much I will probably do it again.

I started this middle of year three. Listening as I work, clean, drive and shop. I can’t wait to start year 6 and have my study guide, journal and maybe God Shot. TLC makes learning the Bible in a busy world so easy!

The Bible Recap is informative and inspiring. The host does such a great job of sharing her personal insight as well as some historical facts about that passage that brings it more to life. She holds everything with a loose hand and corrects anything that is found to be wrong later. I love that. She inspires people to stay in God's word. This is great to use as a part of your daily reading plan, I'm sure she would encourage you to be in God's word on your own as well as in community. And her love for God's word is evident and infectious!

Tara-Leigh does an incredible job summarizing what happens in scripture and also provides many articles and resources to further enhance your Bible knowledge. I have learned so much about God through this and I appreciate the approach she takes with challenging you to reflect on what God is revealing to you about Himself every single day you read His Word.

I’m a lifelong Christian, but I usually only read the Bible in chunks, which doesn’t help me get the grander story. Tara-Lee does a great job of telling the whole story of the Bible as you walk through it together. She doesn’t shy away from some of the tougher concepts brought up, and she provides great strategies for keeping your habits consistent and getting more out of the Word. I recommend TBR to every single Christian out there and even non-Christians who get confused by seeing things online from the Bible out of context. If you want the full story of God’s Word from beginning to end and to grow deeper in your faith, this is your podcast.

I love God’s word and have read through the Bible doing a reading plan several times before, but this one is special! I’m loving the emphasis on what we see about God and His character - every day, in every chapter, in every book!

I have learned more about the Bible from the Bible Recap than any other Bible study. It really helps you understood the Bible conceptually from a larger lens and put everything together. For the first time, the Old Testament was not boring! I have truly loved everyday of it.

I have been a Christian since I was 3. I had read through books of the Bible and been in Bible study. I didn’t realize how wonderful it would be to understand the whole picture of the Bible story and how the Old Testament points to Christ and the New Testament points to a need for Christ. It is beautiful what God has done and is doing for us. Reading through the Bible and having someone to walk through it with me has been awesome and has helped me to understand more deeply God’s love for us.

I enjoyed my Bible study with Bible Recap. It gives me a new perspective on God whenever I engage in my Bible study. I wish this Bible study was available in Hindi for people who can't speak English. I also want my family to have access to this Bible study material and be blessed by it.

I’m actually excited to start my day reading the Bible! To understand the chronology of God’s plan and where I fit in helps me to share the Gospel with clarity.

Love TBR! I purchased the study guide to go with it, and it has been an amazing tool. As someone who’s been studying God’s word intentionally for almost 10years, highly highly highly recommend. TLC is also a great and humble leader taking you through the readings.

I’m very thankful for the content, which has helped bring new awareness and appreciation. Selling merch feels really weird and dishonoring to the content and process. Probably not a great fit for people who have struggled with the “nice” quality of sone evangelical churches. Really small details here - I appreciate the chronological approach to reading with two exceptions: 1, reading 10 Psalms in a day is challenging, even with the content highlighting each one (I’d apply this to the Proverbs as well); 2, I would prefer to read the Chronicles scrolls at the end of the Old Testament (TaNaK) which is how the Jewish people order things - reading the same account twice many days was less than ideal.

Great for assistance on keeping up Bible reading. However, the host is a strong Calvinist so that worldview is presented as truth/fact. It will be 100% better if she presented the “regeneration precedes faith” as ONE view among many others, but until then I have to give it a 3.

This podcast has become a add resource in my Bible study I also have the Bible Recap book and the clarity and understanding it brings is like no other. Thank you so much!

I’m beyond thankful for this podcast to help me understand the context of what I’m reading and the stories I’ve heard my entire life. The more I read, the more joy is discovered!

Most inspirational of Daily Reading of the Bible Plan for a Year. Exposing GOD's plan for His people who are rebellious but He loves and disciplines. Tara-Leigh and staff gives her GOD SHOT for each day so I'm encouraged to deeply study the Word with eagerness. Also knowing that GOD has the perfect plan for me.

It has always been a goal of mine to read the Bible in entirety but it always felt overwhelming on where to start and understanding what I read. The recap along with the daily readings have been amazing and I have learned so much already.

I’m currently in US Air Force tech school, and had been feeling incredibly overwhelmed by the Sodom and Gomorrah type atmosphere of the military and had even begun to question whether I could continue to do what God called me to do: serving my country. And then I started listening to this podcast. I will forever be grateful for this podcast. It’s helped me remember that Christians do still exist, and that God is still with me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the work y’all do! It’s truly a blessing to the world.

I am seriously thankful for TLC’s recommendations to simply look for God’s character in each day’s reading. I admit I read 2 chapters a day rather than all the reading, so it helps me not feel overwhelmed, but even in those portions I find something. Slowly but surely, I’m building a Bible habit, and this is the first through the Bible series I’ve truly been able to stay dedicated toward finishing. From there, I plan to continue doing it over and over again. Thank you guys for producing all of this!

This podcast & reading plan make the Bible make sense. Reading the story of God’s plan chronologically & with this podcast have made me understand God’s purpose with the owner’s manual for our lives (aka the Bible). Tara Leigh and her team have done an amazing job with their research. You can tell God’s hand is in this work to get His Word out to the masses & make it just as living and breathing today as when it was written.

I am not exaggerating when I say that I have often thanked God for this podcast. It has helped me to read the Bible in a new way, to not get discouraged if I fall behind or don’t understand something. Tara Leigh does such a great job of explaining things that are difficult to understand - and also helps us see the larger story in scripture. How everything connects. I have recommended this podcast to so many friends and family members. So thankful!

I love this podcast and I’m on my “3rd trip” as TLC would say. Sometimes as I listen to the day’s episode I think, “Did I just read the same passage? Because I did not understand it at all until I heard this recap!” She does such a great job of pointing out the micro and macro elements of the passages. I love that the daily episodes are short but deep and I also love the monthly summaries of the “big story” of where we are in the overall narrative. This reading plan and podcast companion helped me get through the entire Bible for the first time ever. Nnow I am in my 3rd year, and Bible reading has become such a habit that where I used to struggle to find time to fit it into each day, now I look forward to it every day and can’t get enough! I do other reading plans along with it because she has taught me how to read and understand God’s Word for myself. This podcast was the door that allowed the Lord to change my life and relationship with Him. Highly recommend!

I do not mean this as an insult to Tara-Leigh Cobol, but rather a constructive criticism. As much as I love hearing the word of God, I have prayed for tolerance about the vocal fry. I realize speech patterns in societies change over time. For example, listen to how radio announcers talked in the 1930s, 1940s, etc. Old TV commercials or the old news reels that played in theaters before the start of a movie. Over the last several years, I’ve heard vocal patterns among women gradually change. Specifically, ending sentences with a growl sound. This growl has been defined as a “Vocal fry.” I have heard others attribute it to people of higher society. It has also been attributed to the Kardashians. It’s normal for people to try and emulate others in society Tara-Leigh has a beautiful voice as she speaks. However the growl as she ends each sentence shutters through me. I have been told, “That’s just how some people talk.” I say no, “That’s how some people talk NOW.” It is a learned and practiced speech pattern until it becomes a habit and eventually a regular part of their speech pattern. I enjoy listening to The Word as I relax in the evening. I will have to resort to reading The Word from this podcast instead. I apologize if this reality offends anyone, but please know that this is not simply my opinion, but it is a reality. Blessings to all. 🙏🏼❤️

Helpful to set what I’m reading /hearing in my daily studies!

I love the Bible Recap, and listen to it during all of my runs. I play them over several times to gain more insight and understanding of the Bible. TLC is awesome - funny and excellent at clarifying what is sometimes very difficult material to understand.

I am so glad for this podcast, it brought me back to love God first of all, I use to think I was a worthless, well, human. I though I wasn’t loved nobody cared about me, I was told about this podcast and realized I was cared about, and God loved me and always has. For I was found then lost again and I was found this year and now I remember who I really am. He is where the joy is!

I’m the kind of gal who likes ultra-academic Bible study and commentary, but some of it is incredibly dense and just goes straight over my head. That’s why I love the Bible Recap; Tara-Leigh provides well thought-out reading plans with thoughtful, fun, and enriching commentary that is relevant for every day life. I also love that it is not centered around building up knowledge about God but around knowing God and growing in knowledge of who He is and how He wants us to obey and love Him. The Bible Recap is a breath of fresh air; if you’re reading this, start today!!

“Hold with an open hand” is one of my favorite Tara Leigh Cobble expressions when discussing some scriptures. I think there is a fear that some commentators will be too fundamental, too liberal, too whatever, not enough something else. When we truly come to the Word with the objective to know God, He blesses us with new hearts. We come away better people of character. TLC keeps us on that pure path. No matter your “leanings,” you can read the word, pick your God shot, listen to the Podcast, and be transformed. Thank you, TLC, for the perfect format to keep me on track. I have never read the Bible front to back (despite studying scripture for years). I know I will do it now - though it may take me two years!
