    This is really good
I see a lot of the reviews are saying that you need to know words to understand all of it, while that’s true just being able to listen to them speaking in Japanese will help you being to recognize patterns etc. the way you learn a language is like a child, you need to listen and recognize patterns. So while you might not learn how to speak like Shakespeare from this you’re learning how to recognize patterns.

I think you need to know some Japanese to really understand it at all, even if you’re supposed to be learning. I’m doing some Japanese on duolingo, and recognize a few words, but not enough to understand what the rest of them mean, though the idea of this podcast is great!

What a great time for a train ride
I ride the train to work and this podcast has made my commute so much better. I am really impressed with the structure and the care put into helping language learners. Highly recommend!

    Great way to study Japanese
Thanks so much for this podcast!I listen to every episode and love them. But could you please increase the volume of the podcast? It’s always too low and I struggle to hear clearly even when my car stereo volume is at max volume. Thanks!

    My favorite podcast
I don’t understand a lot because I’m a beginner but it’s helped me recognize words even if I don’t remember what they mean. It’s also a super fun listen, I really enjoy hearing them talk which makes the learning process enjoyable. Thank you for an amazing podcast, please make a patron so we can support you.

    The Best!!
I absolute LOVE this podcast for practicing my Japanese listening comprehension! I’ve learned so many great words and phrases from them that have really improved my conversational Japanese. A friend and I who are studying Japanese started a similar podcast (but with English for Japanese speakers) that was in part inspired by this one (AustinとEmilyの英語). Can’t recommend enough!!

    Great for listening practice
This is such a good podcast for listening practice and vocabulary building. The hosts are very charming. Their personalities come through as they cover a variety of topics. I first hear lesson 76, I went to the first one and am now at lesson 21. I wish there were two guys that would do the same thing. I would like to hear small talk of men and the topics they would cover in this type of format.

Wow, this podcast is fantastic, seriously!
I listened to #77 and it was so good, I started back at#1. I have made it to 49 now and will finish and do it all again. Why? I want to review the vocabulary list first and then relisten!! I watch lots of Japanese dramas using a VPN so I can pour over the japanese subtitles and expand vocabulary and reading. With enjoyment. But the level of dramas is quite high (Doctor X, great drama, but seriously hard vocabulary). Here in this Podcast, you get two very fresh, excited, amiable, compatible young girls talking about everyday topics. (not 上級裁判所の裁判 or not 膵臓癌) Kay"u"ko is reserved, serious, patient, providing color commentary, while Mizuho provides the bulk of conversations with here machine gun talking :) But it works! You sprint when you listen to Mizuho's broad explanations and catch your breath with Kayuko. You will certainly find yourself laughing with them as you follow their bantor. It is a great way to broaden your knowledge of everyday Japanese, history, tips and vocabulary. Great job guys!

    A Pleasure to Study
I listen to a lot of Japanese podcasts but this is by far my favorite. The pacing is easier to understand than native Japanese podcasts, but it never feels like they are speaking in slow motion. I appreciate that the hosts smile laugh and joke throughout the podcasts. It feels like I am listening in on a fun conversation instead of attending a class. Keep up the good work!

    So helpful
Being half Japanese and moving to the States as a kid, I’ve lost a lot of my Japanese. Now as an adult this podcast is super helpful to help me remember and keep practicing my original language! 💖💖

    Love this Podcast So Much!
The pacing is challenging enough, but still understandable. I love hearing casual banter and fun topics. Keep it up girls! - J

    Excellent!!!!!!

The best podcast to learn natural Japanese
I'm so glad to discover this podcast. It's one of the best ways to learn Japanese from natural conversation. The hosts are so charming! They talk about different topics in every episode so my vocabulary grow in many areas as I listen to them. The vocabulary list at the end of each episode is a great recap.
  • Digitaladdictgal
Most helpful podcast for learning Japanese
Love the conversational nature of the podcast, supported by the vocabulary list posted on their blog. I find it especially helpful when they mention the English translation for certain key vocabularies during their conversation - please do more of that in future episodes.

Just what I was looking for!
This is wonderful podcast which features the real Japanese conversations of a handful of young college-aged students. This podcast allows me to listen to Japanese and re-tune my ear as a way to get reacquainted with the language sounds, phraseology, reflections and patterns. There are several challenging words but the hosts are very mindful to sprinkle in a bit of English vocabulary to help you while listening. The conversations also have a very helpful list of vocabulary words that are explained and translated at the end. I should also mention that the fun and lively personalities of the speakers make for some fun listening as well.

    Very fun
I just started listen to this podcast last week and have been listening everyday!! Very fun to listen to and it improves Japanese listening!! And just want to share how much I like it!! Thank you ❤️

Helpful for learning commonly used Japanese
The speaking is fairly natural, my only complaint is that they translate words far too often. During some episodes, almost every other sentence has a word that they feel they need to say in English. It becomes very distracting.

    Improved my Japanese
Listening to this podcast has definitely improved my Japanese language skills. Timely, fun topics. Lively, charming conversations.

Excellent listening practice, love the vocabulary lists. I’ve noticed that the Patreon link no longer works, I would be happy to support the content otherwise. Thank you for creating this podcast!

    Perfect listening practice!
I moved back to the U.S. from Japan and was afraid of forgetting my Japanese being away. I’m so happy this podcasts exists, as I can still feel immersed in everyday casual conversation. Thank you so much for making this!!!!

    Easy listening for Japanese Immersion
Appreciate the clear, easy to hear production of these podcasts for Japanese immersion. I look forward to using this to better understand casual Japanese conversation. Thank you for your hard work ありがとうございました

    Very helpful
Natural, casual, spontaneous conversation is an effective way to improve your vocabulary and listening. This podcast is a good supplement to Japanese movies, music, and variety shows.

    Too much English
Stop translating everything into English. I don’t want to hear ジューン I want to hear 六月... I’m trying to improve my Japanese listening...
  • scaly_dragon
    Great listening practice
This podcast is so helpful and enjoyable! I appreciate that episodes are long (about 30-40 min) because it’s important for the intermediate learners to listen to natural speakers for extensive periods of time. This podcast fulfills that requirement easily. Plus podcasts are very interesting and informative. I really like that the hosts have different way of speaking, this doubles the language exposure, and it’s fun to listen to their interaction. 笑え声も好きです♡

    Great way to improve listening
A wonderful podcast! Not only are the hosts delightful, but the content is fun and interesting. They speak very clearly and make it easy to improve your Japanese listening. The vocabulary lists they provide make learning even easier. If you are learning Japanese or if you already know Japanese (it’s fun to hear what’s going on in Japan) this is a must listen podcast!

Best podcast for natural listening !
After my beloved Hiikibiiki podcast was canceled I didn’t find any other podcast that was a casual conversation about various topics. All the topics are interesting and easy to listen to with good sound quality and using real language (not “educational” or formal language learned in school). I listen to each episode many times for pronunciation practice as well. Thank you for all the amazing episodes !!
  • nsuthe09
    最高の日本語のポドキャスト!
This is the perfect podcast for improving listening comprehension. It’s very important at a certain point in your studies to frequently listen to conversations like this because you begin to hear words more clearly the more you listen. These girls speak casually at a speed that isn’t too fast, and they explain things in English at parts, with review of the vocabulary at the end. お疲れ様、ありがとうな!
  • sllimaraik
The ads are annoying and too often!
Content is good but playing the same ad every few minutes with her annoying voice takes away from the content

    たくさん勉強しました
Thank you so much for this podcast! This is very useful for the intermediate learner and helpful for hearing natural Japanese dialogue. Many other Japanese podcasts are for beginning learners, or speak too much English, or speak too slowly, and I can't find anything else like this. Please continue to make these, and please don't stop laughing! It's not loud at all.

    ありがとうございました
This has helped me sooooo much! Just as I was about to give up learning. I finally feel like I’m getting better! 本当にありがとう😊

    Super HELPFUL!
Thank you for the causal and natural podcast! Really appreciate the natural chat style and extensive vocabulary list :)

Finally I found waht I;ve been looking for.
Thank you for this pod cast! I have been looking for years for exactly this kind of language learning tool. When I lived in Japan it was always so hard for me to listen to natural conversation at natural speed. THis podcast is perfect for me and many other I am sure . Keep up the good work!. Only suggestion: during vocabulary list time, please speak more distinctly.
  • ezekiy
    Excellent work!!
The amount of work they put into each episode is really amazing - the vocab lists and blog posts are super helpful. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their Japanese listening skills and learn new vocabulary. よくできました!
