    The most authentic running pod
Been here since the beginning. As many have said, Jonathan is the best host - genuine questions, but truly listening to the guests answers, love this one!

If you like LinkedIn posts, this podcast is for you.
This show is getting further from running and is a revolving door of humble bragging entrepreneurs that occasionally run. Sometimes they have someone cool on

    Superb and Necessary Discussions
Just listened to the episode with Molly and it has left me with tears of joy for her. Great job Jonathan creating space for her to talk about her journey—I just love her authenticity and grit. By far my favorite podcast ever.

Great human with a great pod!
I discovered this pod early in my running journey and it’s been in my rotation ever since. Although I mainly run ultramarathons on trail, the way Jonathan is able to interview and entertain allows me to be able to relate to all his guests. The style and the flow makes it easy to listen to whether I’m out on a run, in my car, at work or just about anywhere else I can listen.

A Must-Listen for Runners and Running Enthusiasts!
This podcast is an absolute gem for anyone passionate about running or curious about the running community. Jonathan Levitt does a fantastic job of diving deep into the stories and motivations behind why people run. Highly recommend!

Great questions = great insights for runners
As a long-time fan of For the Long Run, I never cease to be amazed at Jonathan Levitt’s ability to ask just the right question to make every episode full of real insights for runners of all abilities. This is no small thing, as running podcasts can easily fall into the trap of endless talk of crazy fast times and race results that most runners can only admire but not really learn from. FTLR not only gets the pros and other elites talking in ways that can help any runner, but the guests also include a WIDE range of runner types and experiences. If you are not already on board, you must give a listen!

    Great running podcast
I enjoy listening to For the Long Run because Jonathan brings on a diverse array of guests with multiple perspectives on running and life. Unlike some other running podcasts, these episodes feel relevant to me as a middle of the pack runner. I learn helpful tips but also just feel part of the greater running community. Keep up the great work Jonathan!

Why I Love “For the Long Run”
I’ve been listening to For the Long Run since I started running again on Dec 26, 2023. A few years ago, I was a fairly strong runner, competing in multiple races a year. In 2020, I was told I would never run again. Here I am, four years later, training for The Great Divide Ultra 100 miler. What I love about this podcast most is that it addresses topics that go beyond running. Jonathan interviews the elite and the non-elite, because their stories are equally important. I’ve listened to athletes from various ethnic, social and religious backgrounds share their journey. Whether I have an amazing run or an absolutely awful training day, I find motivation in For the Long Run. I have found that over the last few months, I have changed some of my perspective when it comes to running, racing, goal setting, and life in general, partly because of this podcast. I am also a single mom and deal with some guilt surrounding the sport, but then I listen to these episodes and I am reminded why I’m truly doing this. I need to be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy for myself and my children. Thank you, For the Long Run, for being part of my journey.

    Love this podcast
#1 podcast for runners! So inspiring! Jonathan asks such great questions and the guests he has on are such multi faceted people. Many of the guests share a love of adventure and a curiosity for LIFE!! Thanks Jonathan for putting this out into the world!
  • NotSoInvisible30
    Great guests
I enjoy the different guests on the show! The host himself definitely gives a vibe that he doesn’t care about you unless you’re Important or a Somebody (he loves to name drop) but I just ignore that and focus on the guest.

Fell in love at first listen
Came to the pod because I wanted to hear the interview with Sabrina Little. That episode was amazing and was such a solid interview with Sabrina (btw I’m devouring her book right now five stars on that too!). But after finishing he Sabrina interview I saw the library and was like “I want to hear this interview style with all these people” jumped into the David Roche episode and have listened twice. Such a positive and enjoyable pod

    Great Interviewer
I was recently a guest (Andrea Herbert of @goldivyhealthco) and LOVED my conversation with Jonathan. He is an insightful, inquisitive, and compassionate human that wants to help people. This podcast inspires me every week and I’m honored to be a part of it.

feeling like I am on a long run with you while listening to each episode
i've been listening to this podcast for years and just finally getting around to writing a review. Jonathan, you have such a unique way of getting your guests to speak to you as if your on a long run together, or sharing a cuppa coffee. I absolutely love everybody's stories of their why and a personal running journeys. Still trying to figure out my own way, but I guess there are too many reasons of why, especially now that I've finished another hundred miler.
  • Ezra Feig

I absolutely devour running content during my treadmill miles - which means I listening to >6 hours a week! This podcast is CONSISTENTLY one of the most excellent out there. I love when I see a new episode launched, and I immediately put it at the top of my queue. Jonathan is an incredible host and I love that he brings the “why” into every conversation. Great guests, takeaways and personal anecdotes-please keep it up!

    Learn something new every time
Love this podcast. Found it during the pandemic and listened off and on. This has been a commuting podcast since I returned to the office. Yes it’s a running podcast - ish. Learn more about how we are all similarly chasing the same goal and always leave the podcast feeling better about the world.

    Was a fan
I was a fan until I found out that the guy supports genocide, being Jewish doesn’t mean supporting Israel in their genoicide on Gaza there are many Jews that are against it and are protesting on what Israel is doing.

    Love this pod!
I just started running marathons this year & I've learned so much since I started listening to for the long run. Love how the host conducts conversation.

    Thank you!

    Long time listener leaving
Great running content that’s not just elite athletes. Unfortunately due the zionist views of the host I can’t listen anymore. There is nothing complex about the genocide of the Palestinian people. Who we support as listeners and the voices we elevate matter.

    Refreshing
This is such a refreshing podcast to listen to on the run or if you're on a off season like me! So much space provided by Jonathan to hear so many powerful stories that connects us all!

    For the long run
I’m a 67 year old distance runner from Denver with 39 marathons and have learned a ton from this podcast, been inspired, and have found a number of helpful supplements. Keep up the great work!

Totally enjoyed and related to this one
Thanks for the podcast with Bailey K. and addressing the issues around women and the running obstacles we face in the high school and college years, even beyond. Talking about the many experiences and hearing how we have all found our way back to running in very individual and soulful ways allows the weight and isolation to fall away. 🙌🏼 Pamela

    Thoughtful, insightful
I’m not very fast, but running is a constant and sustaining part of my life. This podcast, with wonderful, probing interviews that truly let the subjects speak (but which still have challenging questions) resonates with what gets me out on the roads every day.
  • doublefission
    Always something interesting
Jon finds the best guests and asks great questions to elicit some very thoughtful answers. I started listening as a casual fan of road racing and now I find myself tracking 100mile trail runs because I know some of their stories from this podcast. Truly horizon broadening for any type of runner or any level fan of the sport.
  • radiofreak08

  • BonniJean
    Great variety of topics
I have been a mid distance, amateur runner for about 20 years. But am now trying to vary my running and include more trails as well. I appreciate the variety of topics and guests. It has been interesting to hear the stories and expand my knowledge in the sport. I also enjoyed meeting you at Broken Arrow! Thank you!
  • Jbreff
    So appreciate this podcast!
Thanks for doing the pod with Martinus! As a 220 pound ultramarathoner, I know what it’s like to show up to packet pick up and the start line and feel like you don’t belong. With a number of finishes, a 100 mile DNF, and a Never Summer DFL, I have my eyes set on Leadville this year, and your interview today on my run gave me a bit more motivation and inspiration. Thanks for telling stories from the back of the pack too! Cheers.
