    Pronunciation
Shumita just pronounce ‘Colombia’ as ‘Columbia’. Ugh.

    I agree with Sammy Sosa
The podcast really needs a new name! It would be more accurate to call it Apple Opinion. “What family separations might look like under a new Trump presidency.” is opinion at best and fear mongering at worst. I listen for purposes of opposition research; how the sheeple inform themselves.

    Needs more balance
The production, quality, and professionalism is a 5 star, but as a moderate, I find the content to be left-oriented. They cover one side of transgender rights concerns while failing to acknowledge the risk and dangers associated with puberty blockers and permanent life altering procedures in minors. I noticed a similar one sided coverage on immigration today. Be more balanced!

    Great Show, Very Time Efficient
It’s a great way to consume most news you need to know in a short amount of time in the morning. Relatively unbiased reporting, when there is an opinion it’s usually someone they are interviewing and it’s clear that it’s an opinion. People who are complaining about it being biased don’t like that the facts aren’t lining up with their specific opinion of some pet issue. Unbiased reporting doesn’t mean not fact checking one side or the other when they are wrong for fear of appearing biased. Let’s grow up a little people.

    A good overview
This podcast does a great job of giving an overview of the issues. It makes it that much easier to get oriented at the start of the day.

    Pro-Hamas/Anti-Israel
Wish a more balanced reporting of the evils continually committed by Hamas and Hezbollah against its own population and innocent Israeli civilians were presented. You seem to glorify Palestinian violence, and reported the death of the murderous Nasrallah, who had blood of many Americans, Israeli and Palestinian civilians on his corrupt hands, you reported his funeral in exhausted and admiring terms, as if he’s a hero. That’s very disappointing.

    Daily Routine Worthy Show
The team at ANT does a great job covering current events and also adds interesting topics you don’t hear from other sources. There’s little to no political bias in the writing or presentation of stories which is important to me.

    Detailed Review
Overall, Apple News Today is a well-structured and professionally produced podcast. It has become a staple of my morning routine, as I regularly listen to number of news outlets, in an attempt to broaden my perspective on the reality of current world events. While the podcast covers a wide range of topics, I believe it’s worth noting that its tone leans moderately left. The information presented is not overtly biased or extreme, but there is a noticeable agenda that listeners should be aware of. This isn’t necessarily a drawback, as I believe, all news outlets have their own unique, perspectives and biases, but it’s important for audiences to understand the context and framing of the news they consume. One area for improvement lies in the balance between fact and opinion. Statements of fact are often followed by speculative commentary or opinions from the producers, with little evidence or alternative perspectives to create a more well-rounded analysis. This approach can sometimes leave the listener with an incomplete understanding of the issue at hand. Despite these critiques, the podcast remains a valuable and engaging source of information. For those seeking a concise and polished overview of current events, Apple News Today delivers—just keep in mind the editorial slant when forming your own conclusions.

    One sided opinions.
Some episodes good, most bad without opposing views to show both sides. I’m done after they spent 4min telling outdated scary lies about Bitcoin and no perspectives of what may be positive about it. Nice take 👎🏼

    Meh, to far left
I’ve enjoyed her show for quite some time. Until politics came into play and instead of reporting the news without bias, you’re reporting “left” per your own opinions. I don’t like the trump bashing, even though I’m not saying I’m a supporter of his, it just seems unprofessional and geared toward your personal agenda. Thumbs down on that behavior for me.

Apple News+ Guy: ANT is Goated
I’ve been an Apple News+ subbed for like two years, and Shumita/ANT have been a big part of my everyday. I love hearing a 10 min summary of what’s going on in news today. Also, the inConversation eps are awesome too. I highly recommend subbing to Apple News+. Not only do you get the things I mentioned, you can also read lots of newspapers/magazines for free.

    Format is Amazing
I love having this as one of my news sources. It does go extremely left at times and I wish it would stay more centered. Moderates need good news sources without being pressured to accept extremely left views. Again the format is amazing and I love listening.

Very underrated news program. Provides a different spin on traditional news stories. Gives the audience something to think about on a variety of topics.

    Great for me!
This is the most easiest way for me to consume my news for the day. It’s only once a weekday (minus holidays), isn’t monotone, they space out the stories a bit in sections so you don’t feel like you’re just being drowned in worse and worse news, and seems more well-rounded to cover more stories than like just 3 headlines. Thank you for making this show!

    My daily morning show
    Love it good information

    A good centrist news source
I really enjoy listening to ANT every morning. Reporting seems pretty unbiased to me and they report on stories from multiple different sources. A good length for each episode as well. Longer than something like NPR News Now but shorter than a morning news spot on TV. The hosts are informative and nice to listen to as well!

Pretty left leaning, pretty disappointing, just give me the news without your blue, no matter who bias!

    Essential for starting my day!
I absolutely love the Apple News Today podcast! I always start my day with it. The duration also makes for a perfect “shower” podcast! 😅 Shumita and the hosts deliver important, relevant news in a fair and balanced way, and I always feel informed about current and US events, which is useful in conversation with others!

    Love Apple News
I’ve been listening to Apple News for about four years now, and this is the best short news podcast you’ll find—unbiased and straight to the point.

    Great news morning update
I love the length and the news they cover. If I want more info on a specific topic I can find it easily. Great coverage.

I’m tired of the Trump sane-washing
Donald Trump is an insurrectionist and a traitor to the United States. His supporters are the cancerous rot that is destroying my country. I’m tired of pretending both sides have issues, because even if that’s true, that rhetoric only serves the side that is very clearly much worse. The media has a responsibility to never make excuses for a man that tried to subvert the results of a legitimate election. I like that the host seems to recognize this, and honestly I wish she was meaner about it.

One of the best news podcast sources
Apple News is an essential part of my morning routine, it has a good balance between good and bad news, and I find the news choices relevant and as informative as it can in a short morning podcast. They do well delving into specific stories on their other podcasts like AppleNews narrative. Also I love Shumita’s voice, it’s not as “anchory,” she has a very sympathetic tone. It’s hard for me to understand anyone complaining the news is “far-left”LOL, then it makes CNN seem off the chart left. Any news source is limited in its own way, if you want perfect news compilation, the perfect interpretations, and that which should resonate with you, you might need to do your own research. If you don’t go to one store to do all your shoppings, I suggest you also explore other news sources to compare their different narratives.

    My favorite morning diagest
This is such a great podcast. I’ve been listening to it for months. Great work. I started listening shortly before the original producer when I’m maternity leave. It was great while she was gone and it’s great when she’s back such a lovely production. Keep up the great work.
  • WISETEAM
    Articulate and insightful
An enjoyable and informative way to stay on top of the relevant news of the day. This show keeps me out of the doom spiral that can be triggered by a lot of other news sources these days.

    Honest Reporting
I trust the integrity of Shumita and team. Unbiased reporting on current events that are important to know, both domestic and global. What’s not to like?

    Soothing bad news
Lately the news has depressed me, but something about this show’s format and Shamita’s voice manages to soothe me while digesting news tidbits. It’s now a regular part of my day.

Shumita and her team wrap up daily news magnificently. Great tone and quality of content. It’s a must to start the day.

The core of my weekly news routine
I love the 5-15 minute news summary every weekday morning! I listen to it right after my shower, as I get ready for my day, Mondat-Friday. It gives me a good overview that avoids the extremes of our polarized world, but also avoids obscuring the facts in the name of neutrality. I also especially love Shumita Basu, the host and editor. She keeps the focus on the news, but her example in her maternity leave for the first 6 months of 2024 was perfect in its execution. If you want to know the facts of what matters in the news, follow Apple News Today!

    Pure PROPAGANDA
This is not a news source.

    Succinct
I enjoy listening to Apple News after I drop the kids off at school each morning. It’s a great way for me to keep up with current events and politics while being able to avoid the endless 24-hour news cycles. The stories seem to be well-researched and fairly presented.
  • False Equivalence
    Excellent production quality and content.
Keep up the good work. Brevity without manipulation or whitewashing.
  • J.Lavalle
First thing I listen to every morning!
She sounds great, it’s pretty balanced on politics, it’s not drawn out. It’s like a daily dose of the news and what important.

90 percent speculation 10 percent news
They tell you a news snippet and then provide the speculation of what they think it means while quoting some sketchy sources. Pass.

Clearly unbiased, “reviewers” just prefer right-wing bias
Seriously, grow up. Apple News is as centrist as it gets. Sincerely, a leftist.

    Great show
I listen to Apple News Today in Overcast almost everyday on my way to work. The length and topics are a mix of important news and some fun stories at the end. I always feel like I’m well aware of what’s going on in the world and Shumita is an outstanding host. She makes the whole show worth listening to!
  • timebox
    Biased opinions on everything
Except for cribbing about Republicans and Trump, she doesn’t have anything to talk about. Accept the verdict and move on. Why continue to push your propaganda? I had enough and finally unfollowed the show.
  • Marc Sommerset
    better news bites
better than npr, better than news, better than local radio - short, to the point, fresh and refreshing.

Great unless it is election season
I love the format of this podcast. Shumita is a great personality and in general the topics are the right balance of important and interesting. That said, during the election season it has been very hard to listen to, and I frequently don’t. I am an independent who has voted for both parties through my life (primarily based on policy choices), and it has been hard to hear a program I generally like so much degrade into a manipulative one-sided “news” source. Apple, as a company I admire, can do better than that. The election results indicate less than half of your potential listeners agree with your political positions, and if you choose to be a strong voice on one-side, you’ll be consistently offending a large part of your audience.

    Excellent News Summary
Apple News Today rounds up major headlines and combines them with other interesting articles to form an easily-digestible bite of early-morning news.
  • Classic Baller
Used to be a great news catch up show
Used to be a great news catch up show that covered a wide range of the main national and international news that was going on in a time I could listen to my way to work. But turned into left biased media garbage, not covering both sides anymore and spends the entire show gloating up Kamala and threading the right and trump. There is two sides to cover at the minimum or be less biased. And please cover other things than just Kamala and trump. There is more things that go on in the world, especially now that the election has past and trump is not in office.
  • CPUGenuis
    Far Left News
Disappointing to see such a politically heavy handed approach to daily news from Apple. Apple News should be “for the rest of us”, not just for those ideologically aligned with the American political far left. Maybe the recent election will encourage the tone and bias of this show to be reconsidered.
  • Tkotoo
    Democrats regroup after crushing loss
Why the tears??? … Like Kamala said … it’s time to roll up our sleeves!! That was just one of the battles … not the war! Had I had a house and car or family w/kids and a dog, and felt threatened, and intimidated if a President did not win an election, and I was a black man, I may well have voted for Donald Trump myself.
  • Neutral listener CO
    No longer unbiased
I’ve been listening to Apple News Today since COVID. I was drawn to it because in our increasingly polarized country and liberal media, I found it to be one of the only unbiased news stations remaining. I’ve been extremely disappointed with more and more liberal supportive stories as we’ve come down the stretch to the 2024 election. Each day it was pro Kamala stories and anti Trump bashing with the clear goal of using a new podcast to propel popularity and votes for Kamala. Then on the day after the election, rather than stay neutral and congratulate Trump, it’s immediately speaking about him being a “felon” and further biased reporting. I will continue to listen but ask that Apple News Today try and return to its unbiased roots. It’s this type of reporting that gave uprise to the silent majority that has elected Trump. Thanks.

    So biased it’s embarrassing
I just wanted a basic review of recent events and this is so left wing. You’ll only hear one side the facts
