I’m always on the lookout for new podcasts that analyze interesting and compelling films in an intelligent and entertaining way. So far this one really fits the bill. I’m enjoying the films selected so far. I have to be honest, the second I saw an episode about “Best of the Best” I knew I was in good hands. I really hope we get an episode in the future about Part II. It’s a lot more pulpy than the first one, but it’s just as earnest and just as fun. I like that the podcast approaches film discussion from a writers perspective. This differentiates it from some of the other film podcasts I listen to, and variety is always welcome. In all honesty I wish the episodes were a little longer. I do sometimes appreciate the brevity but at the end of most episodes I find myself wanting more. Not a bad problem to have I suppose. Overall, really enjoying it.

I’m really enjoying this podcast, I like the breakdown of the films, I’m also enjoying the fact that movies that you talk about seem to mirror my movie collection.

I’ve been looking for a positive, optimistic podcast and found this one today. I’ve since listened to about 20 episodes already and it’s already my new favorite. Dan is so insightful and knowledgeable about movies. And he loves so many vastly underrated movies I’ve always thought I was alone on. Keep up the amazing work!

He also has a gift for scoring incredible guests—and on top of all that he also makes for an incredible podcast guest in his own right as he did on our show Hard Out when he stopped by to talk about his all-time favorite flick THE DEPARTED!

Dan’s storytelling sensibilities plus top notch guests equals one of the most delightful and informative listening experiences. Three cheers for the under appreciated films out there!

There’s so many movies out there that don’t get enough recognition, thanks for shedding light on them

The perfect podcast for cinefiles in search of hidden gems. Each episode is a nice, snappy bite and while you may recognize a few classics (In Bruges, Eastern Promises, etc.) you’ll find a plenty of deep cuts here too. Needless to say, my “Must Watch” list has grown since starting to listen!

As a writer I’ve listened to a lot of podcast like John August’s scriptnote, 3rd & Fairfax, etc. Those are industry focused but I love how in depth this podcast is about the aspect of movies and it’s art in whole that’s just genuine and from the perspective of a real movie lover. Funny, insightful and deceptively smart, this podcast is now a regular event for me.

First, this podcast inspired me to revisit GONE BABY GONE. Luckily, It’s one of the only movies I still own on DVD, because I love it (but I hadn’t watched it In a few years). Then you reminded me how funny JUST FRIENDS was, so my wife and I found that on Netflix and rewatched it too. Your podcast also convinced me to try JACK REACHER again, but I can’t find it streaming for free anywhere. Do you know if it is? If not, I’ll just have to bite the bullet and pay the six bucks. Thanks for helping us remember (and learn more about) all these modern classics! Also, I’m amazed by the caliber of guests you’re able to get, especially considering what a relatively new podcast this is. Great work!

This show is a very enjoyable series of discussions about under-heralded movies. Dan’s knowledge and passion for film are clear, and he gets great guests to discuss a different movie in each episode. Highly recommended!

I’m really enjoying the selection of under-appreciated movies that this podcast has covered so far, and it’s really refreshing to hear these filmmakers get excited to talk about these (sadly mostly forgotten) gems. And Dan always has enthusiastic insights about each movie that makes me appreciate them more and start itching to watch them again!

Like getting beers with buds and shooting breezes. If you’ve already seen the movies it’s already up your alley, and if you haven’t treat yourself to each and everyone one and then enjoy the chatter.

Do you remember that movie you loved? That resonated with you, that you needed to talk about and share... make your friends watch it... which drives you crazy if they don’t. That movie that really smacked you in the face and that makes your day whenever you find kindred victims of its appreciation... others that loved it as well and share your penance? This podcast is about those kinds of movies. Bravo!

This show is great! Hearing from those in the industry talk about these movies definitely puts these films into a new perspective. A must listen!
