    WHY
why does every podcast have to say anything about lgbtq it causes hate for them BECAUSE LGBTQ IS POLARIZING

I have been listening to your podcast for some time now. I do not have any personal connection to the LGBTQ+ community but was drawn to your podcast because of the genuine love that came from it. Through your podcast I have been able to see those around me through eyes of love. Thank you!

    An Interesting Podcast
This is an interesting podcast. While they mean well, they are trying to do the impossible, which is striving to live the Gospel while simultaneously ignoring fundamental doctrines. Gay members who want to live the commandments will walk away feeling more confused after listening to this podcast. And straight members who want to see the Church change their position on marriage will walk away confirmed in their erroneous thinking. While I am sympathetic towards my gay brothers and sisters, my loyalty is to Christ and His laws. ā€œWhile we are to emulate our Saviorā€™s kindness and compassion, while we are to value the rights and feelings of all of Godā€™s children, we cannot change His doctrine. It is not ours to change. His doctrine is ours to study, understand, and uphold.ā€ -Decisions for Eternity by President Nelson

    I'm not alone
I love this podcast. It doesn't stray away from harder issues, it shares real perspectives and stories in a down to earth, noon preachy way. Ben and Charlie let others know that there is room for everyone and that each person's story matters. Thank you.

Love these two guys and their myriad of guests
I truly think Charlie and Ben are doing Gods work with this show. As an ace lds girl with a lot of gay church friends this podcast makes me feel like I can keep going in the gospel even when I donā€™t have anything else to hang onto. Definetly makes me feel stronger knowing that thereā€™s people out there who want to look at things critically and spiritually when discussing the fragile relationship between the church and their marginalized members as well as the things that just come out of having a queer identity. Itā€™s such an important and amazing series that I would recommend to anyone whether or not theyā€™re gay or lds šŸ’œ

    Comfort
This podcast has became my comfort podcast just the idea that I donā€™t have to choose between my sexuality and religion is so comforting. Thank you so much
  • EJB2
    Unrealistic and sad
The Mormon doctrine is that gays will be fixed and assigned a proper spouse on the other side of this life if they are righteous enough. This show pretends that you can be Mormon and gay and happy. You canā€™t. You can chose live in this life or salvation in the next. Not both. (Charlie is now technically an apostate BTW) That is a toxic and dangerous message especially to LGBTQ youth. Just listening to some of these episodes shows how problematic this is. And all it does is allows cis het Mormons to point and say ā€œsee you can do it.ā€

    Amazing ā¤ļøšŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ
This is one of my all-time favorite podcasts. I love Ben and Charlieā€™s different personalities. This podcast has helped me to become a better ally, as well as brought me closer to Jesus Christ. I appreciate listening to perspectives from so many different people. Charlie and Ben are both so vulnerable and honest, it feels like Iā€™m listening to two of my friends. Iā€™m grateful to hear the things that are difficult for LGBTQ+ people so I can be aware and advocate, as well as the hope that can still be found through Jesus Christ. I always feel the Spirit when I listen to this podcast, but not really in the ā€œconfirming and comfortableā€ way. It stretches my mind and heart. Definitely give this podcast a listen! (P.S. Charlie is a Swiftie which makes it all that much better. šŸ«¶šŸ»)

    Grace and wisdom
I have learned so much listening to your podcast. Your faith in the midst of uncertainty is so encouraging and beautiful. And the way you talk to each other is an amazing example of a friendship/relationship full of honesty and charity. You are pioneers showing me (and many others) how to love others and let go of judgement.

    Thank you!
I just recently discovered this podcast. The few Iā€™ve listened to have been amazing. The early episodes about Patriarchal Blessings and the Family Proclamation were especially helpful and timely for me to hear. They provided me with hope and peace. Thank you Charlie and Ben!

Making Being LGBTQIA+ and LDS a little less scary
Iā€™ve enjoyed listening to the conversations that are had in these podcast. Especially when they are about questions I have myself. I really enjoyed the episode about asexuality because itā€™s nice seeing that some people are just curious and want to understand more about my identity. You guys are informative and funny and it makes the world of being both feel a little less scary.

    Uplifting Podcast
Love how Charlie and Ben have created a podcast that is so real, compassionate and just uplifting. Not only am I learning, but Iā€™m cultivating understanding for my LGBTQ brothers and sisters and feeling the Spirit and laughing in equal parts: thank you for the work you are doing!

    Healing
like a balm in gilead. whatever youā€™re carrying around, chose one episode and lay your burden down. you wonā€™t be sorry, and you just might find less doubt and more promise in your relationship with Christ. bless these men for their transparency and vulnerability. I needed this.

    I LOVE CHARLIE AND BEN!!!
I love these guys! Iā€™ve gained a lot of understanding and compassion from listening to these and other voices in this space. Iā€™ve laughed, cried and learned a lot from them. I love their willingness to be open, vulnerable and authentic. I love their friendly banter and think they are hilarious and fun to listen to. I feel like we should be bestiesā€¦next time youā€™re in Phoenix come over for chips and guacamole.

    I now have better understanding!
I have several family members, members of the LGTBQ+ community, that were not included or treated like everyone else in the family, I didnā€™t learn to associate with them in the healthy way, I had no role model for this, I wish this podcast or even any option of learning to love everyone like I have learned by listening to this podcast, had existed in my time. Thank you Ben and Charlie, I have become a better person and member of the LDS church by listening to you. It is never too late to become a better disciple of Jesus Christ.

    Like a warm blanket
Two of my children have come out as members of the LGBTQ+ community during the last 18 months, and I have had so many questions and some concerns. My kids talk to me, but what this podcast has done for me is exactly what Ben & Charlie say they wantā€¦give me another perspective. It always gives me something to ponder, and frequently brings me so much comfort. Iā€™d give it 6 stars if I could!

    Fostering a relationship with God
I loved this episode and listening to Tami. She is so open. I never thought of having a secure attachment to God. I studied child development and learned a lot about how damaging it can be when children donā€™t have a secure attachment to their caregiver when very young. Now I can look at God as a being who loves me and that I can have a secure attachment to him through studying the scriptures and praying. It was neat to hear Tami talk about how her relationship with God has changed from this knowledge. I have a lot to work on and pray about to get there. I love your show and listen every week. It has taught me how important it is for me to be an ally for LGBTQ people.

    Conference
I love the perspectives about listening to hurtful things at conference. I love what Ben said at the end about an Apostle cutting off the Roman soldiers ear and Jesus performing his last miracle by healing that ear. Apostles do think they are doing what is right but in the end may hurt but Jesus will heal. Jesus will always heal.

Ministering in a Higher and Holier Way
As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a mother of 6 (3 of whom have come out as LGBTQ+), I thank God for this podcast! Iā€™ve been in low places on this journey, places of heartache, confusion, anger, fear, etc. and these guys have ministered to my soul. I recently felt healing through their episode 2 of season 6 about conference. Neil L. Andersen used Thomas L. Kayā€™s poem in his talk /article ā€œMinistering in a Holier Way,ā€ and it perfectly describes how I feel about Ben and Charlie: ā€œThank God for all who give relief for those who really care Who put their arms around the weak and plead for them in prayer Thank God for those who hear the heart and listen to the words Who know a look or gentle touch mean more than all the world Thank God for those who lift the hands and strengthen feeble knees Who go about restoring souls in quiet ministry.ā€ Keep up the good work, the ministering, and may God strengthen you to do so. šŸ’•

    A Valuable Resource!
As someone trying to understand the LDS LGBTQ experience, Ben and Charlieā€™s vulnerability and courage to talk about this subject has really opened my mind to more understanding and my heart to more love. Thank you Ben and Charlie!!

    Amazing podcast
As a young person who has been coming to terms with my sexuality my therapist recommended me this podcast. And it has helped me so much even though I still donā€™t really believe in the church it has still helped me find my way and be able to see other perspectives on this stuff.

    Mighty Change of Heart
My heart and mind have completely changed. First, I feel closer to God and Jesus Christ as I understand and see others more completely. Second, my perception of LGBTQ was wrong. I was only paying attention to headlines where people with heightened emotion were condemning each other. Charle, Ben, Ty, Ryan, and others have helped me to see Godā€™s love in a more expanded and Christ-centered perspective. Thank you for being a vehicle for the spirit to teach me. Dan

    Listen and take action!
This is in my top three favorite podcasts. Every member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints needs to listen to these messages and ask the spirit what they need to do next. Not just listen but take action. This is Christ centered, life changing, rawness and vulnerability in its purest form. I LOVE this podcast. It balances the hard stuff and the hopeful stuff so well! Iā€™m tired of being apart of an organization that isnā€™t living the gospel of Jesus Christ. Itā€™s one thing to build our pristine perfect gold temples and itā€™s another to kneel down in the dirt and do what Jesus did. These people are doing the work and need more people to join them.

    Uplifting, Christ like, amazing
Iā€™m a straight almost 50 year old guyā€¦who was introduced to this podcast by my wife. This has become one of my favorite things to listen to. I feel like I have learned to see people more like Heavenly Father sees them, and I have learned more about becoming Christ like. I thought I knew the scriptures well, but there are so many insights that Iā€™ve never considered before but have now learned from Ben, Charlie, and their guests. This is so uplifting, faith building, enlightening. I wish I had started listening way sooner. I am so impressed and admire so much the courage, resilience, faith, commitment, example and testimony of Ben, Charlie, and their guests. This just makes me feel so much more love for those around me. Thank you!

    Eye opening, heart softening
I want to be a part of a church both of you are apart of. ā¤ļøyou are both so amazing. I just listened to the ā€œCharlie falls in loveā€ episode, and it was so touching. Iā€™ve loved watching your relationship with Ryan and loved hearing the origin story. Your story is beautiful. Enough random ramblings, these stories are so needed, and I am very grateful for your vulnerability.

    Humbling
Growing up, I was taught that being homosexual was something you chose, and later when I deconstructed that belief still believed that celibacy was the only way to be ā€œtruly happy.ā€ It makes me sad to think that people use Ben and Charlieā€™s experiences to push that belief onto other people who need unconditional acceptance, love, and support. Fortunately, that hasnā€™t been my experience with the podcast at all. The first couple of times I listened, it was honestly scary, but I kept listening so I could know how to best support my queer loved ones, and I donā€™t regret it one bit, Iā€™m hooked! I now have a much stronger relationship with a queer cousin which I had missed out on for years. I identify as a straight woman who has always been both and am pretty sure I will always be this way, but Iā€™ve learned so much about my own sexuality and have learned to appreciate its unique jumble of ways I experience attraction, the spectrum of which those experiences occur, and itā€™s fluidity through the years. Iā€™ve been able to see things more clearly spiritually and have been able to find my own answers to difficult questions as a result of its open-ended-ness. Iā€™m sure that as I continue to listen that I will learn and become so much more ā™„ļø

    Definitely brings people to Christ!
Ben and Charlie do an amazing job not only sharing their raw experiences on their journey with being outwardly gay but they are incredible living examples of 2 Nephi 25:26 ā€œAnd we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.ā€ Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your stories. I sincerely looking for ways in which I can give space to those who feel different and alone, much like our Savior.

    I just love this podcast
I have learned so much about different wonderful beautiful members of the LGBTQ community from this podcast. I feel like Ben and Charlie have put themselves out there in a really vulnerable way, and I appreciate the bridge that theyā€™ve made between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the LGBTQ I a community. I know itā€™s got to be hard for them sometimes, so I love every episode that we get! The conversations are so beautiful and honest and vulnerable, I always appreciate the questions, and itā€™s great that it comes from two qualified therapists! I love them so much.

    Good queer Latter-day Saint talk
There is still a lot of pain at the intersection of the LGBTQIA experience and the beliefs and cultural customs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ben and Charlie do a good job at probing that intersecting space, in a way that is supportive and nonjudgmental for the variety of voices surrounding that intersection that they invite onto the show.

    Exactly what I need
As a bisexual member of the Church, Iā€™ve struggled for years to find a space where I can feel comfortable. This podcast is that space. For a while I lurked online in a few places to see what kinds of conversations I could join, but I ended up finding a lot of negativity against the Church that really weighed on me and didnā€™t feel helpful to me in my journey. I longed to find people that would affirm to my identity both as an LGBTQ person and as a disciple of Jesus Christ and a committed member of the Church. And thatā€™s what this podcast does! It has exactly the level of nuance and balance Iā€™ve been looking for. I am incredibly grateful to Ben and Charlie for being willing to be vulnerable and share their stories and go out of their way to elevate other peopleā€™s voices too. I appreciate how they are completely honest about the difficulties of their situation while also offering a perspective that feels hopeful and inspiring. They donā€™t sugar-coat the issues, ignore hurtful comments, or pretend like things are better than they are. But they also donā€™t focus on the negative so much that it weighs you down instead of lifting you up. Listening to this podcast makes me feel validated and supported in the things that are most important to me. It challenges my perspective in the best ways. It fills me with peace. Honestly, I think it makes me a better person. Iā€™ve been binge listening for the last few weeks, and even in that short time I think my capacity to love others has increased because of the stories Iā€™ve heard from people who are alike and different from me. It has helped me feel closer to God, and it makes me look forward with faith and hope for a better future for all of us. Thanks so much, Ben and Charlieā€”and every guest whoā€™s been so brave and open about their experience.

    Life changing
Absolutely incredible podcast! Itā€™s remarkably difficult to find perspectives on the relationship between the LGBTQ+ community and the church, and sometimes I feel helpless when trying to find answers or enact change. This podcast has brought so much peace as Iā€™ve tried to understand Godā€™s love and His plan for all His children. Itā€™s made me a better ally, a better member of the church and a better person. Thank you Ben and Charlie!!!
