    My favorite weekly listen!
Love love love Annie and Nick, have been a reader since the xoVain/ITG days. They’re brilliant, kind, creative, and have a lot of thoughtful reads on current beauty and business trends. They should really start a beauty crisis PR firm. This podcast is as educational as it is entertaining, and I hope the work stays joyful for them! Thank you!

    Annie is not okay
This podcast used to be my favorite to listen to - so much that I now pay to listen. That said Annie needs to take a break until she is well enough to participate in thoughtful conversation. Her support and promotion of Kanye is shameful - going so far as to threaten to buy his merch because she is “poor” Nick could handle this podcast on his own with guests while she takes a much needed break and isn’t so “sleepy” that she cannot speak properly

    Beware
This podcast hates diversity of thought and the majority of Americans that voted in the most recent American national election.

    20/10 no notes
This is hands down my favorite beauty podcast. It’s a sort of dark / dry humor you have to love in order to understand and appreciate. Nonetheless, this podcast is witty, funny, and educational. I’ve been an Art Director in the beauty industry for 7+ years, and it’s my go to to make sure I’m in tune with all beauty news. + love that this ties in arts and culture! All of my interests wrapped into one!

I wanted to update my review after some strange woman presumably in Ohio commented. I listen to so many podcasts and have been listening to EB since the start. I can’t believe I am actually on an online forum to defend two people I haven’t met but these two know almost every ingredient, sources, manu practices, component types, etc. Walking into a Sephora where some girl who loved YouTube and does contour does NOT know more than these two. Just saying. I am a big makeup/skincare lover and my husband is in manufacturing so I find them enthralling sharing their insider info. I seriously don’t want this pod to end so people who have nothing nice to say, should just simply say nothing at all. My original review: I love Annie’s voice and timing it’s super soothing. But that’s not why I love this podcast. They are actual insiders with so much knowledge. I appreciate the honest reviews being a skincare/makeup/pop news/basketball fan myself.

    Excellent
I never thought the beauty industry was that interesting before listening to this podcast. Now I find it fascinating and I love Nick and Mizz 💎💎. Thank you for introducing me to Jeremy Fragrance 🤣🤣

    Is this a joke???
The two hosts come across as juvenile uneducated shallow wannabes who have nothing to say. They're not experts on beauty, are awkward with each other, and completely unrelateable She has an eating disorder, he is a petty and catty whiner and both are unlikeable. They don't know the first thing about real beauty. If you're looking for beauty advice, you would be better off walking into any Sephora store and getting help there. These two are a waste of time.

    What happened?
This used to be an interesting podcast about the beauty industry. Of late, it seems like they’re phoning it in on that concept, and now it’s just wealthy people complaining about their lives for half of each episode. The hosts recently announced that they are looking for crowdfunding / volunteer labor. I get that people deserve to be compensated for their work and podcasts cost money, though why that doesn’t apply to their “volunteer” editors and producers I don’t know. And when that ask comes after all their talk of buying designer clothes, luxury beauty items, expensive vacations, and prime New York real estate it just seems like these people want to continue spending lavishly for a bare minimum of effort. They’ve become deeply out of touch.

    five stars
Loved the new episode so figured it’s time to finally post five well-earned stars…Annie is very funny, hilarious. Both are incredibly intelligent, I’d listen to their takes on most anything. Eye Witness is an underrated pod y’all 🙂

Annie is the most annoying podcaster. Is she high? drunk?
  • Purtakeinlife
    One of my favorite podcasts
Annie and Nick give off very “cool kid” vibes in the best way. The topics are interesting. I’m obsessed with the lack of ads. I hate the product recc sound effect because it interrupts the calm sound of the rest of the episode but also love that it feels really out of place/weird. (Also, why is Annie called Diamond?) Five stars.

Your voices soothe me. I could listen to you talk about anything

    Fun Beauty & Culture Pod
Discovered via the Fat Mascara cross-over episode and I’ve been binging since. I love that they cover beauty and pop culture, something different than the other beauty podcasts I consume.

    Loosing the plot
I LOVE this podcast and I’ve listened since it’s inception and found this duo through my love for Necessaire the brand that Nick co founded However as the pod has blossomed I find it less and less insightful on the points that the pod brands itself on BEAUTY I’m all for hearing their thoughts on pop culture but I dare to say I only want their thoughts on culture as is pertains to beauty because I do see them as an authority on the matter. I find myself skipping over the new episodes as of late because the of the amount of fluff and the lack of beauty substance. Mascara runs down face as typing***

Love their chill but interesting vibes
I love this show. Discovered them from the crossover episode with fat mascara and have been binge listening ever since. I love the laid back but informed perspectives that Annie and Nick have.

I just learned about you two when you were on FM (mission accomplished!) and I wish I started listening sooner- I could listen all day. ♥️

    The Best.
Funny, smart, quirky in the best way…feels like a true inside look into the industry, unlike a lot of other beauty pods.
  • corybales
    Excellent Banter
Goss & beauty news that’s funny, smart, and not politically correct (thank God!) it’s my way of keeping up with topics like movies/ shows, the Ozempic factor, what’s good in LA and New York, reviews of beauty procedures and products, raising small children snippets, etc. etc. The best!

    Fun Smart Pod
This podcast is so fun to listen to. The two hosts are business savvy and very knowledgeable. They have a great dynamic. All the potential to be a huge pod but I kinda love that it’s niche. I don’t mind the inconsistent posting but will be bummed once they finally give up on it!

Love the pod wish there was more!

    Weekly Beauty Group Chat
My favorite pod. Annie and Nick perfectly balance each other — it’s like chatting with friends about beauty and pop culture every week. This podcast got me through quarantine and I’m so happy that the weekly episodes are back.

The Who Weekly of Beauty News
Annie and Nick have a lot of insight to offer as veterans of Glossier. Their takes on beauty brands, industry news, etc. are objective and told in a way that’s easy to understand and doesn’t favor any particular brand. Also they’re hilarious.
  • dmds540
    Big Fan.
Love this podcast - This podcast always makes me laugh, and its valuable information coming from two beauty industry founders. Love that it is also personal and unfiltered, doesn’t seem bias towards getting brands to like them or pay them like a lot of other beauty podcasts out there. Respect that Nick and Annie have worked hard and both built things from the ground up. Looking forward to future episodes:)

    Privilege
If you are into listening to two very privilege people who complain about not getting free stuff then this podcast is for you. Nick likes to complain about being so busy with his 2 children like the rest of us haven’t been doing this without the help that he has. Also talks about being able to use the “weight loss” drug that us regular people need to survive. I wanted a podcast that was about reviewing and talking about the beauty industry. They do about 25 minutes all about themselves and 5 minutes of news. Wish them the best but this one is not for me.

    Annie’s personality………………..
  • 1837252
Out of touch but more honest than some
It’s eye opening to hear someone be honest about using their privilege and money to use a drug meant to treat actual diseases to lose a few vanity pounds. I know people who would benefit from using Ozempic due to their pre diabetic status who are unable to access it. The people who write for the beauty industry are living a life that most people can’t relate to. I do like that they addressed the Tarte press trip. It seemed like such an out of touch trip filled with excess in a country with so many human rights violations. I don’t often review podcasts but something about the Ozempic experience struck me as really wrong. The healthcare in this country is indeed broken. Those with money will always have access to whatever they want. Tarte continues to live in the 2010s with their excess but their displays in stores look like tumbleweeds are gonna blow though at any minute.

Interesting for people who like beauty
I really like the content of this podcast. I enjoy Nick’s informed opinions. Annie’s energy is just not for me. She comes off condescending most of the time. Still, the topics are interesting to me.

    my favorite podcast
as a long-time annie stan i love this show and look forward to every episode. i didn’t know nick well before eyewitness but now i find myself really interested to hear his takes on current events and trends, and he’s an excellent interviewer. annie and nick are both thoughtful and funny people who aren’t afraid to give a hot take and disagree with each other but are joking and laughing the next minute. their conversations feel honest and informed by their experience in the industry and always give me something to think about, but still lighthearted and not too heavy or negative. 10/10 my favorite podcast to listen to!
  • Vanwnb
A touch insufferable but mildly interesting
Apparently we’re here to learn about Uggs, Hailey Bieber, and Ozempic.

    Love this Duo!
Annie and Nick tell it like it is! Love their POV and insight.

What is up with these other reviewers
I'm a grouchy elder millennial who doesn't really know or care about what "pick me energy" is, I'm just here for some fashion/beauty industry gossip and to be actually influenced by product of the week (e.g. byredo incense - love!). The best episodes are the ones without guests, some guests are hit or miss. Production feels high quality. I tore through all the eps within a week and then mourned their hiatus and so glad they're back. Update: influenced to buy the france luxe clips!
  • kmtrent

    meh overall
I’d find a different podcast to listen to, this has racist pick me girl energy and boring commentary.
  • ohhhhhdanny
Omg - I love you don’t go away
    That break was awful
  • becoming cringe
    Cringe
Annie has such high Pick Me Girl energy it’s becoming unbearable. We get it, you believe you are the originator of all things innovative and cool. Low slung mini skirts! Body care! Pretending to care about environmentalism and shaming consumerism while starting a redundant beauty brand! Breaking point for me- calling the Pharrell-brand bar a “knockoff” of yours is rich considering hers is a knockoff of Glossier. 2 stars because Nick is a pro at being proud and knowledgeable and is opinionated without arrogance and is actually funny. Update- knock off the Dasha impersonation it’s insanely weird

    Please never leave us again!
I am so happy you are back! If you love beauty, and an unflinching look at the industry, this is the podcast for you. Nick and Diamond (Annie) will give you the honest truth about what is going on with skincare, beauty products, and everything that is going on in their lives. Never change!

Love to Hear the Hosts Opinions
This podcast provides an insiders perspective on beauty news. I like Nick and Annie’s banter and they always have really great interview subjects on the show. They also give great product of the week tips.

Long time reader, first time reviewer
Obsessed w this podcast, I truly look forward to listening to it every weekend. I have never left w review On a podcast EVER (I think) but I feel guilty every time Nick and Annie ask and I don’t do it. I love the level of conversation you have about beauty. I feel like I’m getting insider secrets and higher level information, simultaneously it feels like a conversation between friends. I also have used so many of the recommendations. I don’t have time to deep dive as much as I used to, but I still like being ahead of the pack.

    Simply the best
Reader from day one. First time reviewer, you guys are THE best. The pod has given me so much entertainment with your guys’ banter and mastery. Your limitless knowledge and precise recommendations are such gems. I feel like I’m listening in to a juicy conversation that has me bursting out laughing and simultaneously googling for more. I started listening in from my lame job to feeling inspired, and now to graduating Esthetician school next month. Thank you for everything! Enjoy your summer. Can’t wait for you to be back!
  • SkiFamily33
    Smart, entertaining, useful
Please come back! I love this podcast. I don’t even work in the beauty industry (just a devoted/obsessed product user) but there’s something about Nick and Annie that keeps me coming back week after week. The recs are great and really useful. And I think the industry news is fun and fascinating. I guess I work in a sort of adjacent industry, so it feels like fun, low stakes work gossip & intel. Something that I’ve missed over the past few dull work from home years. I know the podcast is a lot of work. I appreciate all you two do and I would sign up on Patreon etc if you ever did that.
  • Jill M P
    Thoughtful beauty coverage
Annie and Nick take the beauty industry seriously, but they don’t take themselves too seriously, which is the perfect balance for a beauty podcast. Eyewitness takes a critical lens to the industry, not just for the sake of being critical but because Nick and Annie have actual insights and opinions on developments in the industry. They’re funny and thoughtful and pay attention to the nuances of the beauty in a way that a lot of current coverage of the beauty industry doesn’t. I can’t count how many of their product of the week recommendations I’ve tried but I can tell you that I’ve loved all the ones I’ve bought and that I wouldn’t have found or thought to try any of them on my own. If you’re looking for insightful coverage of the beauty industry and pop culture, this is the best podcast for it.

    Favorite Beauty Podcast omggggg
This has quickly become my #1 favorite beauty podcast. I feel like other podcasters rarely share their real opinions bc they want to stay on good terms with brands/founders but Nick and Annie have a perfect mix of friendly banter and well thought-out analysis that is super refreshing. Even if I may not always agree with everything being said, I always appreciate the unique industry perspectives you guys bring. Keep it up!!! Xoxoxoxo ❤️ - Maya C.

    Mis presidentes
I don’t really care about or consume beauty products but I listen to this podcast every week because Annie and Nick are so smart and charming and I love to hear people nerding out about an industry even if I’m not a stakeholder.
  • Triscuit21
    Horrible
A friend recommended this podcast to me so I decided to check it out. Boy do I wish I hadn’t. Annie comes off tone deaf and out of touch. Wasn’t she one of Emily Weiss’s OG girls? Have you read all the stories and press on the bullying and racism behind the scenes at Glossier. You just know this girl was apart of that. Annie if you’re reading this, podcasting isn’t for you. Oh and her buff bar gave me a rash.
