I randomly came across this podcast while looking for a Superman-centric podcast and while I’ve just started listening to the podcast I can definitively say that this podcast is what I’ve been looking for! Anthony’s willingness to cover ALL things Superman from comics to TV shows to movies means that I’ll be listening to this podcast for a long time to come.

I love all of the detail in each episode! Thanks for sharing all the content! But can we also have a counter for how many times Anthony says “and again” per episode? Haha

Anthony’s passion for Superman is there from the get-go. It’s great he gets so much enjoyment from discussing everything about the man (and boy) of steel. The only reason I didn’t give this podcast a 5 star review is because each episodes spend too much time at the beginning where Anthony and his guest keep telling us what they are going-to-talk about, rather than just talking about it. In a recent episode they spent 21 minutes telling us what the episode was going to be about before actually starting. I just wish they’d get to the point faster.

Hi Anthony, I love your podcast. I got back into comics recently and your show was the perfect one to get into. The way you approach discussion of Clark and Kal-El’s character is really engaging. Rather than go page by page, you opine on what were the most meaningful beats in the story and what that means for the characters as we follow their journeys. The first Superman story I read was All Star by Morrison at the beginning of 2023 and that hooked me since. Your show has been great reference for which runs/series to get into. Your appreciation for comic shops as a community is also well-taken. Anyway, I’m writing this by a waterfall in the woods in a rainstorm so I better get going. I’m not a huge Superman fan (he’s kind of a blindspot for me), but the passion expressed on this show MAKES me a Superman fan. I love how it’s across all types of media and how it explores his place in the wider DC universe, diving deep into his impact both in comics and culturally.

I found this show a few months ago and have plowed through the back episodes. I really enjoy both the discussions about content I’ve read/watched and have not. Can’t recommend this show enough. Such a great show!!

There is something in this podcast for Superman fans regardless of their preferred era or medium. “Digging for Kryptonite” covers every comic book era from the golden age onward, as well as screen appearances ranging from the old Kirk Alyn serials to Superman & Lois. Interspersed is coverage on other things related to the Man of Steel, from the radio show to the “The Death and Return of Superman” video game. Whether you are just beginning your Superman fandom or whether you fell in love with the character while watching the first airings of the George Reeves' “Adventures of Superman,” you will likely find a discussion of “your” Superman here.

but this show has really ignited an excitement for me to delve back into my collection and relive some of Clark’s most amazing stories. thank you. love the podcast. hope you live to one million so you can keep reviewing forever.

This mostly weekly Podcast dives into different eras of Superman’s Rich and illustrious history. Rotating co-hosts not only keeps the podcast fresh but also allows people with a passion for certain eras to really shine. If you like Superman, you really should give this one a listen.

I’m not a HUGE fan of Superman, but certainly have enjoyed many of his stories told across different mediums and eras. This podcast has done a wonderful job of documenting these stories. Host Anthony Desiato has done a wonderful job exploring Superman content and sharing his own love of the character with listeners. The podcast has been a true education on Superman and has opened new doors featuring the character that I’ve greatly enjoyed exploring. Can’t recommend this podcast enough even for the casual Supes fan.

If you’re new into the comics world and specially the Superman world like me or a long time fan of both this podcast is for you! It really helps that the host is very knowledgeable and a cool dude!

By far one of the best Superman podcasts there has ever been. Anthony is chronicling his journey exploring the various aspects of Superman’s 80 plus history. I have been a Superman fan for decades and this is the best podcast I have heard on the character! The host and his guests provide a fun and informative discussion. They cover aspects and eras of Superman from throughout the 80+ years of the character. I always learn a lot and cannot recommend the podcast highly enough!

Superman is one character I haven’t dove too deep into, but listening to Anthony talk about Superman has me wanting to read a lot more! Great podcast with entertaining content and guests.

I came across this show and quickly binged all the episodes. Anthony and his guests do a great job of exploring the history of Superman and it's made me re-evaluate some of my own Superman opinions. As an example, I never had any intention of reading the Golden Age Superman comics, but after listening to the episode on it, I decided to check them out.

This is one of my all-time favorite Superman related podcasts! I look forward to the commentary and insight provided by the host and his varied guests. It helps me rediscover portions of my own fandom for the character. I had the opportunity to be such a guest and I was so ecstatic and honored. I’ll be listening to this podcast for the rest of my life.

Anthony Desiato, a Superman fan, explores and deepens his perspective on the most important pop culture icon of all time. Listening to Anthony and his guests takes you into a fandom filled with passion and love, not only for the character, but each other. It’s a beautiful thing to want to interject or find yourself laughing along with these relatable, thoughtful individuals. I have never listened through a podcast without skipping an episode here or there before this one. You won’t be let down. Some of the podcasts can be lengthy, but it’s not a detriment, the content quality is there— plus that’s what double speed is for! Sit back, relax, drive to work, have it on at a cosplay cocktail party and take yourself into a hero’s journey like no other. Also— don’t forget to leave your own review and rate it!

I’ve been a lifelong Superman fan, and as a fan of Anthony’s other podcast (and documentary), I couldn’t wait for this to drop. It’s a great dive into what makes the character great, and what ultimately inspired me to become a comic artist. Great show, can’t wait for more episodes!

I found Anthony on accident a few weeks ago, his 80th anniversary article about Superman. I became a Superman fan in 1989 at age 14, John Byrne’s Man of Steel tpb. This was like listening to 2 of my friends discussing my favorite character, two friends who understood my favorite character. Love it. I’m hooked. So glad I didn’t have to wait until 2021. Bring on the next episode.
