Pediatric Meltdown

39

Tune in to Pediatric Meltdown and listen to experts provide insights and strategies on a wide variety of behavioral health and mental topics anytime and anywhere that fits your busy schedule. Guests include published researches, primary care colleagues, therapists, educators, parents and even patients. Caring for children and teens with major meltdowns, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, school struggles to name a few along with a myriad long list of behavioral and mental health concerns is daunting and most of us did not receive formal training in residency to prepare us to meet this need. Access to child psychiatry nationally is limited and in some regions just not available at all and as a result we must often provide what can only be called psychiatric care for our pediatric patients. In an effort to increase our understanding of behavioral and mental health assessment and treatment, we attend conferences, read articles, and participate in webinars. You can now add Pediatric Meltdown; the podcast dedicated to children's emotional well-being. Providing behavioral health care at its best is collaborative and connecting with others across disciplines enriches and enhances the care we provide. In the words of Maya Angelou "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." Let's do better together!

    Insightful podcast
Dr. Gagino’s podcast is insightful and engaging. She creates a comfortable space to have important and meaningful discussions with her guests. I’ve gotten connected with many helpful resources through these conversations as well. This is important work and we need all hands on deck to address how we care for youth and teens!

    Wonderful Work
I had the pleasure to train under Dr. Gagino and Sloane in Kalamazoo 1989. I remember the Behavioral Clinic that Dr. Sloane started and in a few days I learned more about ADD then the rest of my career. Thank you so much for this space to learn more and stay informed. Dr. Herb Bravo MD

    Excellent
Thank you for sharing your expertise and bringing voices of clinical excellence regarding pediatric care right to our ears. The podcast model is great to be able to listen at my convenience and pick up a few ‘pearls’ for the day. As a pediatric nurse practitioner, I highly value the ‘whole person’ model of care you suggest. While you specifically address pediatricians, I think there is a broader audience interested in what you have to share. 4 stars given only as the audio /microphone quality does need improvement.

    Pediatric meltdown
This a great podcast. I would recommend that the host consider using some more inclusive language regarding the audience- there are Pediatric Nurse Practitioners that are also listening.

This podcast will be a stepping stone to achieving that. I’m thankful for the tireless work of physicians like Lia Gaggino and excited to listen and learn! See one, do one, teach one.
