ace-is-my-nameSo helpful!Teaching can seem like a real dead end. After 18 years of teaching in a very underfunded, problem-riddled district, I will be transitioning into an edtech coach role with a private school. I don’t know if I could have done it without the course and podcast encouraging me on. Not accepting the position I was slated to teach in the fall was a huge decision: at the time, I was considering early retirement. I’m so glad I bought the course and followed the advice! Here’s to new beginnings!

Shelley HigginsFeeling Hopeless and Overwhelmed- This is for You, Teachers!Thank you Daphne for creating this wonderful tool and resource for teachers. This was my light and ray of hope during my last year of teaching. I listened to every episode - feeling more confident every day- believing I am capable and worth more. I secured a corporate job making more money, way less stress, with professional, caring co-workers and mentoring leadership. I don’t think I realized that it truly is possible to transition out of teaching into a new career. People do it all the time- thank you for showing me, it’s possible!! This was the mindset shift I didn’t know I needed. I recommend to every teacher considering their options!

Bakes1224Great for any teacher considering a new path!Daphne does such an amazing job helping teachers to consider their options. She gives great advice, asks her guests the questions we want answers to, and offers the best tips on figuring out how to transition out of the classroom or if it makes sense to stay in education. Incredibly worthwhile and a great podcast every week!
-

ZiifurhjFinally!10 years ago I was looking for something just like this, support and guidance for how to leave teaching. I stuck around for another 12 years and finally found this Daphne’s podcast and course. I’m now actively looking and have a final round interview tomorrow. All I need is one yes! I love searching through all the episodes and finding the one or two that are relevant to my current circumstances. I listen to/from on the way to work and always get at least 2-3 good nuggets from each listen. Thanks for what you are doing!! I am one of many many who took the risk to move on because I realized I was not alone!
-
SemperFi1224Amazing ResourceThis podcast and Daphne’s course were a game changer in my process of leaving teaching. I successfully transitioned careers, and don’t think I could have done it so smoothly without this. Loved listening to the episodes on my long commute to school knowing I had options and could make a change.
-
linslove0528Love this podcast!!!!This podcast has made such a positive impact on my life. So many great topics and helpful advice.
-
afozarkGodsendThis podcast was a godsend. By listening to most of the episodes and reading the TCC emails (I suggest enrolling in the course), I made the leap of faith into behavioral healthcare. From the latest episode (02/15/23, 105): “…especially if you have 10, 15, 20 years left, that is too long to stay in a profession you are no longer happy in, if you feel you do not want to retire from teaching.” I begin my new career next week. I can’t thank you enough.
-
TaushaS1786Very informative and helpfulI’ve listened to the podcast for the last year and it has helped me manage my feelings on leaving the classroom!
-
vjteachTransitioned teacher that still listensI have listened to every single episode and it has helped me through some tough times. I finally transitioned out of the classroom in August but still listen. Great content and who knows where I’ll go from here? I recommend the podcast to all my friends who are considering the leap as well.

KristinSuzyQMust-Have PodcastThis site & podcast is everything for career pivoters. Daphne Gomez doesn't even know how she became my therapist-in-a-podcast when my teaching career got to be too much for my soul. How do your skills translate? What careers would be your best fit? How can you adjust your mindset? What details should you be considering? I just made my pivot (It took 2.5 months) and I can add one more role to the list of careers for former teachers. I’m now a Litigation Paralegal.
-
Network CareerI cannot thank you enough! You gave me the courage to leave education. It was not working for me and I’m in a much better place mentally. I went back to school and have a new job in tech. Thank you for being courageous enough to be the voice for many teachers who are struggling. Your resources have been more than helpful.
-

Trim thee hedgesIt’s my safe placeThank you Daphne and team for creating a podcast that teachers can come listen to and be understood.
-
James PNWGratefulI'm super grateful for you and others like you who remind me that my life and time are valuable and I should not feel bad for moving on from a career that doesn't value me. There's no shame in being a teacher, but all teachers, happy or not, should expect more from their careers. Pay does matter. Support matters. Keeping unhappy educators stuck in education through guilt is a terrible idea. This podcast helps us realize our value.
-
PlodishLOVEThis is one of the most helpful resources for teachers looking to transition.
-
KGarg4Life ChangingThis podcast (and then course) opened my eyes to the possibilities that were out there for me. I successfully transitioned from an elementary school teacher to being in the Ed tech field, and I truly have the TCC to thank for everything I learned in order to get me to where I am today!

-
JoliecurlzPositive & InformativeI’m so grateful for The Teacher Career Coach podcast. I religiously listen to Daphne’s episodes every time I’m in the car, doing chores or in need of some positive energy. TCC podcast was just what I needed to learn about the many ways to transition from teaching into another industry.
-
pixie27dustHopefulDaphne gives me hope. Her outlook and amazing demeanor truly breathe life back into my crushed teacher soul. I don’t have to “consume myself to light the way for others.” I’m important, my life is important, and just because I’m a great teacher doesn’t mean I have to be miserable working in the profession any longer. This podcast, Daphne, helped me see that.
-
maryellenishappyPhenomenal Resource for Transitioning TeachersI knew Jan 2022 I wanted out of teaching but I didn’t know where to start. I listened to all of Daphne’s podcasts to learn more about the process, interviewing, learn pay scale expectations for each industry and how real educators are doing in their field. If it weren’t for this podcast I probably would never applied to a career in education technology sales. I’m happily transitioned into a sales career at a leading Edtech company and I couldn’t be more thankful for this podcast. You showed me the strength and confidence I had within myself to leave a toxic situation.
-
MarissasumireInspirationalI’m so thankful for this podcast. I am still a current teacher but I’m planning to leave the career soon and this podcast has been so helpful in helping me navigate that long process of change.
-
manda.91Thank you!!I am SO grateful for this podcast and your website. I also plan to take the course. I am only a third year teacher, but very ready for a career change. The podcast is extremely helpful, and makes me so excited for all of the possibilities outside of the classroom. Thank you!!!
-
emmyp_njStop everything and listen! This podcast changed my life. Other career paths change fields all the time, and Daphne carefully shows how that’s possible for teachers, too. She is respectful, compassionate, and incredibly motivating. The episodes are so informative… I learned about other careers, finances, and so much more. Thank you for elevating the voices of former educators and providing endless hours of support for teachers in general!

Time waster extraordinareWonderful podcast for teachersGreat podcast full of useful information!
-
chdbebcThank You!This podcast is so helpful and encouraging to educators struggling with the many challenges in education. Daphne (and her team) has so much experience and wisdom to share. She does so with honesty and positivity - she does not sugarcoat things but is not negative about the challenges in teaching and leaving teaching.
-
simplydeliciouslyhealthyThis podcast is excellent, and great teachingDaphne is an excellent teacher. She’s a good example of the value of teachers and the obliviousness of school administrators who don’t understand the difference a great teacher makes in the lives of the little minds who will be leading the next generation. I’m inspired and still learning. Thank you for people like you!
-
Frances129Nothing but gratitudeThis podcast opened my eyes to the possibilities that exist outside the classroom. Listening to this podcast, the former teachers that Daphne interviews, and taking the course feels to me like seeing color for the first time. I had no earthly idea that the skills I have cultivated after 24 years in the classroom would be sought after in the corporate world. Now, I’m finished with the course and continuing to be an avid listener… while I wait for my one “yes” so I can write in with my success story. Thank you Daphne.
-
Poor plannerSo helpfulAs a former teacher I needed some time to process what I was leaving. Daphne’s tips and tricks have helped me translate my skills from the classroom into corporate world. It’s great to know that I’m not alone in the struggle of exiting the teaching world and also to normalize being a career changer. Most adults have 2 or more career changes and move when the profession their in isn’t working for them anymore. The same should be true for teachers. Great work Daphne. Thank you for being a light at the end of a very traumatic tunnel.

PopinfrehI Found So Much Help HereIt’s like Daphne is a mind reader. There is a podcast that addresses every single one of my concerns as a long time teacher leaving the profession. There are resources, she brings in people to talk about benefits/retirement, former teachers who found success in various fields, etc. Now that I have moved on to my new career, I am feeling longing and sadness some days because I miss some of the good times as a teacher. Then lo and behold, she comes out with a podcast about dealing with the grief of leaving teaching! Everything about this podcast resonates with me. This podcast is where it all started for my job seeking adventure. It showed me possibilities beyond the classroom, and it encouraged me to dive deeper into taking her course. It took me a total of 4 months to secure a new and higher paying job. Thank you, Daphne. I seriously couldn’t have done it without you.

Honest+SaltyThe Most Helpful Podcast for Educators Who know They Deserve MoreDaphne is truly one of a kind. She produces podcasts and materials that help us educators either 1) find ways to make teaching more sustainable or 2) exit the classroom and find a career that values our time, energy, and multitude of skills. I have personally used the podcasts and the Teacher Career Coach Course to leave the classroom gracefully while still supporting my educator friends and the students in my community. Can’t thank you enough Daphne!

michelle43017The inspiration I neededDaphne’s podcast was the inspiration and motivation I needed to search for opportunities outside the classroom. I highly recommend listening if you’re a teacher, even if you aren’t considering leaving the profession right now. It’s important for educators to know the value of their expertise and experience, both inside and outside of the classroom.
