    Reassuring ethics in sobering times
A very compassionate and honest listen. Talal and Alexei have a great chemistry who bounce off of each other discussing fair takes on current politics, but with great banter. What’s touching is you can feel they’re great mates and good for each other. Going weekly has been a much needed addition, keep up the great work, Gents! x

Quite left wing despite being the conquer of Abyssinia and former dictator of Italy
As a 1980s era Socialist Scot exiled in the USA I sometimes like I’m going crazy surrounded by working class people who think their liberation is with the oligarchs or “lefties” more obsessed with demographic labels rather than class & capitalism being the root cause of the country’s failures. It’s reassuring to hear a voice from back home who is still fighting the good fight and being funny, sardonic and sometimes biting with it. Talal has the unenviable but laugh out loud job of keeping Mr Sayle (and Wilf) in line.

    Film Club Suggestion
Please do a review of Children of Men; a film which portrays a dystopian future in an incredibly nostalgic way and which becomes more and more prescient as the year in which it is set looms ever closer. One of those films which is like a changing relationship and has aged beautifully. And it’s only recently and it took someone pointing it out to realise that it’s a nativity as well. Many thanks, keep up the good work

    More Young Ones Please!
Loved the ep with Lise. Brilliant stuff. How about podcasts breaking down each episode of The Young Ones?

The man is a legend and as funny as ****
I have been a fan of Alexei for decades. His perspective is always unique and very funny. Definitely not everyone’s cup of the blackstuff but if you like comedy from the UK this may be worth a go. Also, check out his writing. His books are excellent!
