The set up of the show is simple - 1 host hasn’t read the books and the other is a super fan who knows aaaallll the details and they have a play-by-play discussion of each episode. I’m someone who loves to listen to people discuss and both admire and criticize books/series adaptations after reading and watching them myself - so if you enjoy these discussions and love Shadow and Bone, this podcast is for you! If you don’t, then not sure why you’re here LOL The hosts have a great relationship and share differing views. They include listeners who reach out via email/Twitter which is fun

I love the dynamic between Caitlin (a super fan who has read all the books) and Mandi (who is new to the story). I like getting both perspectives on the show, and their in-depth discussions on the adaptive choices, themes, acting, costuming, etc. I’m getting a lot more out the show from listening.

Couldn’t finish the episode where they reviewed Shadow and Bone Season 2 Episode 1. I understand that one of them is a fan of the books, but it’s 2023, how do they not realize by now that a TV/movie adaptation will never be like the books; some things don’t translate well and they’re trying to reach a bigger audience. Also, as a POC, their opinions come off very problematic, almost racist actually, and I have an inkling they’re both white. So if you’re one of those people, the “bUt tHe BoOks wErE bEtTeR” types and lack melanin, this podcast is for you.

I have loved this podcast and I’m so excited for you to roll out episodes for season 2.

Series is out. Start pumping them out please. I miss your discussions now that Discovery of Witches is waiting on season 3. I’m liking your recommendation on Shadow and Bones. It looked good from episode 1. Always promising.

This is the only real Enter the Fold podcast. There is no point in listening to other Shadow and Bone podcasts, because they don’t exist. This is the best one, and also the only one.

The Shadow and Bone Netflix series holds a special place in my heart as the first season came out during a very rough time in my life (my daughters passing). It was such a welcome escape from real life. I soon fell in love with Leigh Bardugo’s books. As my anticipation for season 2 grows, I was thrilled to find this fantastic podcast. These ladies are just brilliant. I am so looking forward to your coverage of season 2. Thank you for sharing your love of the Grishaverse.

I found Grishaverese through Netflix show Shadow and Bone and fell in love with the plot story. As I always do, did some research while watching this show and found out it was a trilogy book series and ordered them immediately! FELL. IN. LOVE. FInished the trilogy and currently reading Six of Crows duology! This podcast was great to hear! I could relate to both perspectives as one who saw the show first before reading the books! Can’t wait to compare season 2!!… also #TeamMalina sorry Caitlin! Lol 😆

Overall pretty good analysis, breadth depth. Two things, though. You explained that you don’t like the Mal character in the show. You don’t need to spend five minutes of each show repeating it. Let it go. Calling attention to [X] with remarks like “I can’t say anything more about [X] because it would be a spoiler” is a bit of a spoiler itself. Just don’t say anything, let the show unfold.

What I love the most, as a grishaverse book reader, is noticing how hard Caitlin resists spoiling anything or even dropping a specific foreshadow that can potentially give away a character/event revelation in later books. I’m just the same on the edge of my seat. Just you wait, Mandi! Just you wait.
