JonathanCloudEarth RegeneratorsJoel, your portrayal of the Earth Regenerators network in “Find the Others,” Part 2 of your talks with Joe Brewer and several members of the group gives us a deeper sense of what this work is about, and is itself a significant contribution to the conversation. For the group to develop a sense of identity and purpose (the first requirement for successfully managing a commons) requires this kind of insightful articulation. Much of this also came out in your discussion with Pavani after the episode, which we almost missed because it sounded as if the podcast had ended. You might want to mention somewhere that it’s well worth it to keep listening, to the last few minutes, where you share your thoughts about the experience of creating the series, and the key takeaways that you’re left with after the interview. The most important one for me is the suggestion that the Earth has a purpose in mind for our species — and that if we’re going to continue to exist on the planet we need to recognize and fulfill that possibility. This is, in essence, the core of our own nonprofit, Possible Planet, which is why we are so delighted to find others who share this view. And to recognize that we’re at the start of that journey, not the end. As one of the newest of species we’re still a little shaky, but in time we may come full circle to embrace our blue marble, and the once and future garden of Eden that we can co-create with nature if we choose it.

EpicLifeShelliInspiring Conversations about What Makes A Meaningful ExperienceWe can’t remember everything. It’s not possible. What we do remember, though, are meaningful experiences. Moments in time that capture our imagination. Moments that move us, sometimes even to tears. Moments that are so impeccably curated that we are inspired for days, weeks, or perhaps a lifetime, as a result of them. Some of these moments and experiences happen by accident, but life is short and I would hate to die waiting to be inspired. This is why experience design is so important. If designed intentionally and creatively, a single moment or experience can have a profound impact on us and our life. Joel and Pavani are world-class experience designers who get this. They are passionately interested in and curious about what makes an experience meaningful and impactful. Listening to the first few episodes made me feel like I was eavesdropping on a spectacular conversation I wouldn’t otherwise be privy to. I can’t wait for more episodes! –Shelli Johnson, Epic Life Inc., CEO/owner
