    Pregnant “people”?
I felt very turned off by this podcast when the term “pregnant people” was used in an episode description. Disappointing.

    Weight loss Ad?
I was really excited when I came to this poscast and saw specific weeks of pregnancy.. 18-20 and speaking of mental health. Beginning ad is weight loss and losing those stubborn pounds? Didn’t want to listen to the episode as I was so turned off.

    Woman, not birthing person
Birthing person is one of the most offensive terms. Only women can give birth. Hearing professionals and experts saying birthing person is so off putting. I wanted to like this podcast, I thought it was interesting hearing about each week, but I can’t support any show that says birthing person.

Sometimes when I eat, then I will feel like I’m gonna throw up and I’m 13 weeks pregnant, so is that like normal on the stage?

Not pregnant yet, but preparing ahead of time
I’m not even trying to get pregnant yet, but I may be soon, so it’s been enlightening listening to “Is It Normal?” and getting an idea of what I should expect. I enjoy the research and information from experts on birthing naturally, home births, birthing centers, what midwives do, etc. It feels like a genuine conversation with ladies who are passionate about pregnancy and birth. Thank you, Jessie!

    Like a moms warm reassurance
I’m 10 weeks pregnant with my first child, and my family is far away and I am the first of my friends and cousins to have a child. I felt so lost and alone and so incredibly anxious/ that is, until I found this podcast. Two episodes in and I feel so heard and relieved and also, so NOT alone in my worries and struggles. An amazing, inclusive, nonjudgmental space for women experiencing pregnancy. Thank you for this podcast!

    Women, not birthing person :)
This was a great resource for my first trimester, when I was most nervous about my changing body. I continued to listen up until the end of my second trimester. The “experts” that constantly use the phrase “birthing person” are ultra cringe, which ultimately made me stop listening. If my pregnancy taught me anything, it’s how amazing women are and how incredible our bodies are capable of so much. No one but a woman!

    Incredibly useful!!
As an American, it’s strange there isn’t something like this done by Americans to explain our hospital and doctor appointments week by week but even hearing the advise from a different country’s perspective is very useful. Love the show! Great tips!!

    Thank you
I just found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks ago. I don’t have much of a community and my first OB appointment isn’t for another two weeks. The questions being asked here are like they came from my own brain. The answers are so intelligent, sometimes funny, kind and even comforting. I rarely leave reviews but couldn’t pass up saying THANK YOU so much for making this podcast. You are putting this pregnant lady’s mind at ease!!

    Stopped listening
Stopped listening pretty early on because there was incorrect info. The tone was also…weird. Skip this and get How to Grow a Baby by Amy J Hammer.

    Super Helpful
I really enjoyed listening to Jessie and her guests break down each week into a digestible segment. Jessie feels like your favorite friend or neighbor — very relatable — while still asking thoughtful questions. Thanks for putting this podcast out there!

    Only WOMEN give birth !
I can’t listen to podcasts where they refer to a pregnant woman as a “ birthing person.” If you cannot even acknowledge the basic biological fact that only women give birth, then how can I take anything that you say seriously? You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.

I don’t normally enjoy podcasts, but this was so informative and really kept my attention. I loved listening to it to soak up all information as I prepare for pregnancy. Thanks Jessie for making this podcast and bringing in wonderful speakers for the specials!!

Feels like hanging w/ a pregnant friend.
Love these every week and always have to stop myself from listening ahead. Feels like hanging out with a pregnant girlfriend ❤️

Great show… but I find it personally offensive when…
I am not a birthing person, I am a woman. The whole definition of a woman is someone who is able to carry a child to term and birth them. Woman has a uterus and gets periods. Why are we subverting millennia of naming things the way they are to please select few. Biology doesn’t change. As a woman, I find it incredibly upsetting. Years and years of progress on women’s right has been trampled on.

    Great pregnancy companion!
I’m currently 40 weeks today, pregnant with my first at age 35. You are so right about getting annoyed when people text “happy due date” etc, I’m getting those texts today rolling my eyes even though I know people mean well. I’ve listened to this podcast since first finding out I was pregnant and I follow along each week with what amount of week I am. Thanks so much!!!

    Women
Overall I enjoy this podcast. It’s casual, lighthearted, and relatable and has been a nice relaxed podcast to listen to in my pregnancy. I wish we would stop using language that erases women. We are pregnant women, not pregnant people. Is it really inclusive if we leave out women? I understand the intention, it’s just getting old across the board and feels disempowering.

Excellent and still suitable for Americans
I listened to this podcast religiously throughout my pregnancy. I loved Jesse’s sense of humor and found it really helpful that she spoke to a range of birth workers as I prepared for doctors visits. It leans holistic / natural and being a British show, some things do not apply stateside (gas and air no longer are offered in my New York hospital for pain management for instance). However I found the coverage of important points was full and the week by week structure was lovely as my pregnancy developed. I very much looked forward to listening with each passing week. Thank you Jesse and team!

    Loving this podcast
This podcast has helped me so much to be able to relate to others going through the same pregnancy experience, especially during the first couple of months when we hadn’t told anyone yet and I didn’t have anyone to talk to besides my husband (who has obviously never been pregnant before). Listening to this podcast and hearing that all of my wild symptoms were perfectly normal helped me so much during the first trimester before I knew everything was okay with the baby. Unfortunately, I live in the US so none of the information specific to scans and hospitals was particularly helpful, but I loved everything else about the podcast!

    Life saver
I’ve been listening to this since I got pregnant - currently 6 weeks along with my 1st - and I feel relief when hearing MY insane symptoms being discussed. I’m not going to be moody forever? That’s just pregnancy? Oh, HCG is up to it again and generally ruining all things? This podcast is a life saver for my crazy pregnancy brain. Thank you Jessie and Jess for doing this brilliant service and for having delightful, entertaining accents for my wife and I to use when I demand “all the caaaabs” - I had no idea the r was silent in England. Cheers.

    Twin Thanks
Thank you so much for the twin/multiples episode. I’ve been feeling like an island. A crowded one, but with no good maps.
