I'm so glad to have found your podcast. I'm interested in the royal family but not the vitriol and hyper critical opinions of other podcasters. Jack has such a well informed, sane, and articulate voice. I especially love his compassionate and humane perspective. He has emotional intelligence which is sorely lacking elsewhere. Thank you.

Jack - She would not be allowed to run for ANY US political office as a British princess. She’d have to give all that Royalty up in favor of keeping her American citizenship to run for a seat in Congress. So - no issue for the RF. She’d be toxic, anyway, just as you’ve said. 10/10/23 - MEGHAN AND CRITICISM A big difference between writing on bananas (they DO have a sexual connotation. You CAN’T mean that you didn’t know that!) in support of sex workers and being supportive of a country torn by invasion of war! Not at all comparable. Meghan appeared cringeworthy with her event and Kate, admirable. #2: May 8, 2024. Jack - give it up. You’re getting boring with your constant harping on Harry and Charles reconciling. Remember it was Harry AND HIS WIFE who completely left the “Firm” and criticized his family - PUBLICLY and TERRIBLY. If HE apologizes, maybe there would be such a reconciliation. He is now a US resident (and we don’t want them) and that’s that. Let them reach out to her family. The other aspect is the military title going to William instead of Harry. William IS a pilot. Harry is not. Harry is no longer a Royal. William is the next King. I think that H&M are realizing their huge mistake in the way they have behaved. They are whiners, grifters and tremendously boring, as well. Stop talking about them. No one cares. Thank you.

The obsession with Harry and Meghan is crazy. The recent episode ended with a snippet about Trudeau’s ex-wife who did an interview with a Murdoch publication and her answer to a question about Meghan is turned into an entire segment!?! Clearly she was using a diversion tactic and changed subject to Kate for an interview that would be published in Britain. That’s it… If Harry and Meghan are no longer royal, you may need to change title of podcast… 😎 Previous Comment: Your obsession with Meghan is hypocritical. You say they are no longer relevant, yet you have a stylist on talking about coronation and when chat turns to Prince Harry, she turns to Meghan’s Dior dress at Jubilee. Obviously, you knowingly left out a key point about Dior… Princess Diana was a huge fan of the brand and wearing it is a nod to her. And talking again about bridesmaid dress again is crazy. Get over it. Recently found this podcast and love the non-bias take on the Royal Family. Highly recommend to any royally obsessed fan, but… One part of The Crown Season 5 review was extremely insensitive. Laughing at the name of the Russian Czar is awful. The family was brutally murdered. I understand some believe this episode slowed down the season, and you did underscore the point of showing the royal family as uncaring even to a close cousin in danger. I also think with talk of a prequel to The Crown, we are being told where it will begin.

First of all it wasn’t just Meghan fans that were speculating on William and Kate’s vanishing. It was everyone. And no one should feel guilty for doing so. If they don’t like their role as public figures then they should resign. Secondly why on earth should Meghan tell her fans to lay off Kate when Kate did no such thing for Meghan? William and Kate perpetuated and used the Sussex’s bad press to their advantage. Lastly, Harry never trashed his family. He simply told his side of the story and who can blame him when his own family refused to stand up for him? In Harry’s memoir he constantly stood up for his brother stating he wasn’t work shy.

Update 3/29/2024: Jack continues to biased trash. Devoting time to talk about the legal fees that Prince Harry may have to pay and how the average person will never see that amount of money… Jack should be more concerned about the several royals that he and the British taxpayers regularly fund. You can hear the glee in Jack’s voice. It’s a shame, honestly. Unsubscribing. Update 3/20/2024: Jack continues to be trash. Original: The April 27, 2023 episode was my first time listening and I was pretty disappointed because I felt like Jack spoke in intentional ways that seemed manipulative. He would often set up a story and then allow Kristen to comment on it in a human way, and when she asked him what he thought about the situation, he didn’t answer the question. It seems like an attempt to keep his hands clean, and let her do the dirty work or have an opinion. On top of that, he seemed to “both sides” things a little too much; for instance, when he spoke about Meghan Markle‘s father and the way he was bad-mouthing her and Harry that week, and Jack said, “if Thomas Markle can be called a bad dad, then Meghan should be able to be called a bad mom.” And that struck me as a very snakelike thing for Jack to say because those two humans and their parenting styles are nothing alike, yet Jack went out of his way to make room for the plausibility that Thomas could be right. Which lets me know that Jack doesn’t have impartiality in this; he’s just going out of his way to not seem like a Sussex fan, and I think that it is easily possible to remain impartial *without* making space for nonsense… and it deeply seemed like Jack was making space for nonsense. I deeply suggest that Jack rethink his strategy in reporting about all members of the royal family, because he doesn’t seem impartial; he comes across as manipulative and like he believes that people who’ve said and done truly repugnant things… deserve defense in some way. As they pointed out in a recent episode, Thomas a Markle has now made a YouTube channel (and career) out of bashing his daughter… yet Jack can find some way to make sure he doesn’t say anything critical about him. Facts are facts: Thomas is literally just spewing hate like a faucet. In the episodes I’ve heard, Jack is going out of his way to 1) show grace to repugnant people who are literally defaming people, 2) leave his cohost out to dry by either not answering her when she asks what he thinks or slyly steering the subject in a different way, and 3) being so fearful of looking like a Sussex apologist that he views situations more coldly BECAUSE it’s happening to the Sussexes, which if any number of these things were happening to someone else, he would likely find it very easy to see why it’s reprehensible. Disappointed.

The way you came at Stephen Colbert for making fun of a woman with cancer. No one KNEW she had cancer because KP handled this with lies. They said she DIDNT have cancer in fact. And you are sadly mistaken if you think there’s a large amount of people in the US that hold Kate Middleton in high esteem, especially after how she treated Meghan. But go off🙄

Just found this podcast. Interesting and entertaining. I like the host , he has a nice voice and gets to the point of the story without unnecessary chitchat.I appreciate that.

We have no sympathy for Kate after how Meghan was treated by the British Press.

I’m disappointed in your latest podcast. Actually, what the British Army Vet said doesn’t have a point when it comes to this award. One, it is an American Award, so no one in the UK should be focused on what Harry is given. Secondly, if you did look into the awards, the foundation is about getting kids into aviation. They’ve only handed out about a dozen awards to celebrities, with most of the awards going to people who made strides aviation. If you’d would’ve looked at the list, pilots from all walks of life who didn’t go on to do anything amazing also won the award. Does that mean they’re work and efforts are pointless PR?

I feel like I keep trying with this podcast and I’m always left a little frustrated after every episode. Jack engages in so much fanfiction speculation that it’s hard to take this serious sometimes. I think it’s fine for a podcast to have commentary and opinions on the news, but to conjecture in the way that he does is not interesting and is always very biased and judgmental

This show is interesting but it is biased in favor of team Sussex. An example is the segment where they were discussing The different reactions to the interview that Dianna did on panorama Kristen said that William should just let it go like Harry did you know just say OK let’s move along I think she did not realize how close William was to his mother how he was the one passing the tissues through the door when she was crying how he was the one that told her she would give her back the title of HRHWhen he became king Henry was not as close to his mother because he was not as old as William therefore he did not see her struggling as .much these kinds of things need to be more thoroughly thought thru Kristen never misses an opportunity to slam King Charles even when she prefaces it with “I know this is ‘t Charles fault “it always comes out as Charles fault . She never has facts only opinions . I am adding to my original review Show so much better now that Jack is alone. His analysis is interesting and wide reaching . He is fair and realistic about the problems facing the royal family . Well done Jack and 5 stars to you ! This show just gets better and better ! The analysis is still very pertinent and objective with a good sense of humor thrown in . Very consistent quality ! A highlight of my week

I really hope these guys are getting paid by Meghan and Harry. He and that other “royal correspondent” for Newsweek are their personal cheerleaders. I never realized how much some publications and by extension this podcast, are just proproganda mouthpieces for celebrity PR agents. I remember when Newsweek was a respected publication. This “journalist” is awful , no where even close to neutral reporting. Pathetic! And this podcast follows right along. Don’t waste your time! And Jack Royston, perhaps her / their plummeting popularity would be better served by being less awful, fake people. Instead of rebrand # 10, they just need to go away and if they truly care about helping people do that and not publicize every little thing they do for praise. But they’re not going to do that because that doesn’t make the money. People see through the obvious lies they tell, the sycophantic way their supporters and media (like this podcast and Newsweek) prop them up. You should be ashamed to call yourself a journalist with the drivel you write about them. And why is this called Royal Report?? You don’t even talk about real Royals. These 2 bozos are not Royal.

The majority of podcasts are about Harry and Meghan who are no longer working royals. Nothing this week about any of the working royals and the good works and travel they are doing. I get tired of only discussions about H and M so won’t be listening unless all the Royals are represented.

I’m not a H&M fan but I also don’t like trolling. I appreciate this podcast for its fair, objective, and humane look at the Royal family. I had this impression that J. Royston was squarely in the Sussex camp so I would hear their drivel, so it is refreshing to hear a very impartial perspective of them and also of the Prince and Princess of Wales. I also like the guests he brings on. Informative and engaging!

Roy’s ton is definitely in the Sussex camp. When he talks poll numbers, he tries hard to spin it so that Harry and his wife’s numbers are “not too bad” or “improving.” He probably sees himself as trying to be fair, but it’s hard when he is so obviously on one side. And what is this weird obsession with trying to pressure the RF to pay reparations? Claiming that “it’s inevitable” when the overwhelming majority of people oppose that? TikTok and Twitter are not the real world, people.

Jack on his own is leading to some poor journalism. Kristen was very pro Sussex and could get cringy at times, but all Jack does is report polling without looking into any media biases. It’s both boring and biased.

This podcast is focused solely on the Markle family, and simply does not “riff on all things Royal.” The news stories are completely focused on the Harry and Meghan and will mention the other royals as long as the story connects with the latest saga of H&M. There are plenty of other Royal news stories to report, but those never get much mention. Jack tries not to share his personal opinions and stay neutral, but it is obvious he favors H&M, especially given the guests he has brought on the show that are very one-sided. I have followed this podcast for over a year and I’ve had quite enough. Please rename this podcast “The Markle Report”, because that is what it is.

I have been listening to so many Royal podcasts lately and I’ve really enjoyed them all. I like to hear about all sides of the Royal family, including Will, Kate, Harry & Megan! I try my best to listen to what both sides have to say. I really do like the this podcast but Kristen makes it hard to listen to a full episode. She’s so one-sided, pro Harry & Megan that she can’t be fair to the other side at all. She believes everything that is pro Harry & Megan and doesn’t believe anything else and that gets really old really fast! Jack is great and does his best to smooth over Kristen’s one-sided views. Jack is fair and calls it like he see it. Jack is really fair to both sides. I just wish Kristen could be more fair when talking about all the Royals. Jack makes the show fun and he’s makes great points when talking about either sides. I’d easily give this podcast 5 stars if it wasn’t for all the negative one sided remarks of Kristin. I almost gave this podcast 3 stars but changed it to 4 to be a little more fair! Thanks to Jack! If Kristen could listen to both sides instead of just looking out for Harry & Megan, I’d definitely give 5 stars.

This host hilariously pretends to be “fair” while using all manner of provocative language to show his bias against Harry and Meghan. It’s not a mystery why. He is a British royalist working for the conservatively owned Newsweek. At one point there was a female co-host that tried to insert a more level reading of Royal “news”, but it’s no wonder she left. Now this podcast is basically a H&M hate fest. Just read the comments. Lots of stars from those feeding off negative treatment of the sussexes. Few stars from those that looking to hear about what’s up without all the knives out. If you are looking to find entertainment in confirming your hate for H&M, you’ve found a gem. Sign on up. This podcast will pretend you are being reasonable and slip in the jabs cleverly. If you are looking for just the facts and an even and empathetic look at all things Royal, try royally obsessed. And, if you are looking for the reverse of the ugly spin on this podcast, try the Daily Fail.

And it shows … he tires to be “fair” but hes still British and apart of the British media! It’s clear that the British media take harry and Meghan leaving personally… which is so weird they talk like they like they were dumped. Kristen is no longer on the show which I love her and will no longer listen without her, but if you are a deranged royal fan, who listens to all these royal podcast, this one will be another one you listen to… But if you were a fan of Heir heads or royally obsessed before they got colonized by deranged royal fans, you’re not gonna find that energy on this podcast!

I love this Podcast but I can’t even finish this episode. Kristen has so much bias towards Harry and Meghan, I just can’t. I always love Jack’s non-biased truths he speaks of in this Podcast that don’t slam one side or the other. I listen to several Podcasts about the Royals and if this girl comes back I’m going to have to stop listening. She's totally fine to have her own opinions but she really just dogs the Royals terribly. She’s so anti Royal that she needs to express that on another Podcast that is not supposed to be neutral. I’m hoping the next episode is more about what’s going on than an absolute bash fest. There were a lot of other things we could have talked about this week that the actual Royals did instead we wasted a whole episode talking about a couple who chose to leave their Royal life. Good for them. That’s their choice. Let’s move on with the Royals who are still serving their country.

When the podcast is just Jack giving in-depth updates it’s a great podcast. His co-host (and now guest?) has drunk the Sussex juice and is neither objective nor honest in her editorial assessment of events. This week she proclaimed how “everyone in NYC” is horrified at the (alleged) paparazzi chase through the streets of downtown. Literally no one in NYC is horrified and most believe their pr statement is hyperbolic at best, disingenuous at worst. She needs to go.

Please don’t invite this woman anymore. When I hear your show you present it with integrity and balanced This woman was completely 100%bias I heard it but it was awful

Awhile back I was going to unfollow this podcast because I could no longer stand listening to Kristen’s Sussex cheerleading not to mention her annoying voice. I was delighted to find out she was leaving the pod and I’ve enjoyed every episode since she’s been gone! Jack is a great host - very knowledgeable and presents a balanced view. Was so disappointed when I downloaded today’s episode and discovered Kristen was back! Still a Sussex apologist, still annoying voice, and this time she was having a cough attack every couple of minutes. I tried listening for about 15 minutes and finally just quit. Please NO MORE KRISTEN!

1. Another addendum: Please do NOT bring Kristen back, even as a guest. She is the most biased royal commentator I have ever heard, across innumerable podcasts. The show is so much better when it is just Jack. He presents a far more balanced and nuanced review of events/issues. Kristen only has one opinion and has made it known. We don’t need to hear it again. Her defense of the Sussexes knows no bounds. Jack makes excellent points throughout the most recent episode regarding Harry’s and Meghan’s popularity ratings and the quantitative data that suggest their approval has dipped since their Netflix series and the Spare release, likely as a result of their own admissions/revelations. Kristen argues that all of the negative fallout is the tabloid press’s fault; she’s not willing to budge on the idea that the Sussexes have to be accountable for their own decisions and the fact that the more they say, the less people seem to like them. Many of us refuse to read the tabloid reports and have still become more reluctant in our support/belief of the Sussexes…all as a result of their decisions to speak out. Kristen’s inability to accept that we can come to our own conclusions without the influence of tabloids is frankly insulting. Jack, you’re fantastic. Keep up the great work—appreciate you pushing Kristen to acknowledge an alternate point of view; I just think that we have to give up on that dream. 2. I’ve tacked this on to my original review: Resubscribing now that I’ve learned it’s just Jack. Loved him from the start and can’t wait to see where he takes this podcast now that he’s the primary host! Original review below: As an avid follower of royal family content, I am greatly disappointed in this podcast. Firstly, what are Kristen credentials other than “royal watcher”? Is her background in PR, journalism, or research? She presents her comments on matters as if she is an “expert,” but they are largely opinion-based rather than backed by facts or reflective of thorough investigation. Secondly, I had to stop listening early on in the most recent episode because of the guest, who holds a PhD but also presents her opinions rather than empirical work supporting her claims. As a PhD student myself (near degree completion) with over 7 years of graduate-level and full-time academic research work experience, I find this unacceptable. I was looking forward to a research-based, in-depth analysis of the critical topics facing the royal family today, but I was quickly disheartened. In Jack’s defense, he tried to invite a well-informed discussion with his questions; unfortunately, the guest was unable to articulate an appropriate response and resorted to ranting. (Ex: Repeatedly referring to The Daily Mail as “The Daily Fail” is unprofessional. A one-off reference to someone coining the term is fine, but past that, you’re forcing your judgment on others. This is not appropriate behavior for professional academics.) I really wanted to like this podcast, but I will be unsubscribing. I hope that the hosts can improve this show in the future.

I listed to The Royal Report a few times but wow, is it biased. So now I’m unfollowing it. If you want an example just listen to the latest episode about Harry and Meghan being followed by the paps in NYC. They say how says how scared Harry and Meghan were. Just check out the picture of a calm Meghan and Harry recording out the window with no seatbelts on. Many other examples on that episode. The podcasters sure know how to put a spin on events. If you are interested in podcasters like them then go for it. If you want facts then forget them.

I am American and I know that we tend to see Megan and Harry’s point of view more than British listeners. Jack is kind and tries to discuss royal events in a fair way; he is certainly reasonable, but the show was more balanced before when Kristin added a different point of view. Every episode presents Harry’s latest news, yet does so with a hefty dose of doubt about how valid (or honest) his point of view is. There is no longer anyone on the pod to balance the British line of reasoning that Harry has destroyed his family and is a selfish former royal with questionable motives. I love the British royals. I see their pain about all that has gone down in the last few years and I believe that they are hard-working, well-meaning and have difficulty trying to do the right thing in these times. I want to hear all about that. I also love Harry and family, see his pain and believe that he has done what he felt he needed to do to protect his family. I don’t question his motives either. If you are disgusted with him you will enjoy the pod more now that Kristin is gone, but if you love them all you will prefer a podcast like “Royally Obsessed.“

I enjoyed Kristen’s energy and the contrast she added to the podcast. It is very bland now with just Jack.

Enjoy listening to you alone as you always examine an idea with depth and equal consideration on both sides. I had honestly stopped listening in the fall as the former cohost was so blinded by anything Harry and Meghan. Was she on the Archewell payroll or something? Anyway glad to be back! It is the Royal Report after all, not the Opted Out Has Beens support group.

Sadly it was a decent podcast until Kristin Meinzer left. Now it’s just another podcast kissing up to the Windsors and bashing Harry and Meaghan. Tried to keep listening, but it gets worse every week.

I’ve enjoyed the last few episodes since Kristen (previous female cohost) is no longer on. I like balance and she simply did not provide balance especially when it came to Harry and Meghan. Very well done Jack.

The podcast is great. Jack is very concise and well organized. I listen to every episode!

Who gives a flying crap about comedians like Chris Rock and Rebel Wilson have to say , they are not funny anyway, I am sure The Sussexes are unbothered, and Jack so conviently left out Chris nasty comment about the RF being racist, he blasted The Windsors, Jack is a bore by himself, Kristin did bring some humor to the podcast, it might be time to end the podcast, you are only rehashing news that is not new, other outlets have the same thing.

Really enjoyed this interview. The content was fresh with objective analysis. Good to hear from an author who doesn’t have an obvious agenda. Overall this podcast is a good mix of insider news and analysis.

So much better without Kristen, and with only an actual journalist at the helm. Thank you for making that change. I’m listening, and recommending, again.

Very unimpressed by the latest episode with Tom Quinn. I know if Kristen was still on the show she would have pushed back against the racist and biased statements Tom made regarding Meghan and the ignorant things he said about Harry. No pushback or in depth follow up questions from Jack, which made it sound like he agreed with Tom’s comments.

I thought they balanced each other. It’s a little dry w/o Kristen. I love jacks analysis and his humor but most podcasts have someone to riff off if. It’s a loss and I’ve noticed he’s vontinuythe curtsy comment at the end w/o Kristen but it doesn’t make as much sense

Easier to listen to

Just finished reading Spare and thought I’d hear what people are saying about it. Your’s is the first podcast I’ve found and boy, do you”re negative words and tone make his point!! You sound as though you’re reveling in his misfortune. Ugh!

This used to be fun, now without Kristin I cannot listen. Bring her back!
