Discovered this podcast while trying to find more info on the world of Arda. Two weeks and 40 episodes later I’m hooked. Tom is an amazing narrator and I can’t wait to lean more!

If Fëanor is the greatest of the elves, Tom is the greatest of the podcasters. If I were Morgoth, I’d sneak into Tom’s studio, and steal this podcast and wear it as a crown. For those still getting into the lore and don’t get the reference yet- Just listen to the podcast bro it’s fire.

I have always loved Tolkien’s works, having first read the hobbit in two days from cover to cover. But the hardest read was the Silmarillion. But Tom really makes everything I read make sense and has even made me want to reread the entire Middle Earth set. He has such a rich knowledge and a way of breaking it down that reminds me of my favorite history teacher in high school. I am only to the break down of Turin, but I am fully addicted. Keep up the amazing work and thank you for all you do.

Tom’s voice is so soothing that it’s almost annoying that he’s so informative and insightful. I could almost sleep to the melody of his words but they’re too darn interesting! Amazing podcast!

Very informative. A must listen for any LOTR fan. My only complaint is the weird animal noise (maybe a Rooster) at the early stage of E8 scared the bejesus out of me, while listening at 2AM. It just added to setting the scene though. 😂

Great podcast, it’s very easy to just pick a episode and listen to it and even do some notes while the podcast is running if you want too. Me and my friends love discussing LOTR and it’s great to be able to know the history fast and well. Thank you for this AMAZING podcast, stay hungry for lore folks.

I have twice been unsuccessful in reading the Silmarillion. I’ve often given up in frustration over the names and meanings. This podcast has been a welcome study guide for my endeavor. Well worth the time to listen.

I’ve been in the car with friends or family when they’ve listened to podcasts but I never went out to find my own until a couple weeks ago. I found this podcast and I am HOOKED! I listen to it every chance I get. It’s very educational but also very emotional. Every episode is worthwhile especially the bonus episodes. Thank you for creating a work of absolute art!! Everything and more i was looking for in a podcast. I’m a delivery driver for UPS and started this podcast a little over a week ago and binged the entirety of it, and i can’t wait for more episodes. I do a lot of outside work (painting and pressure washing) during the warmer months here in TN and since I found this podcast in June it has kept me company through the long days of working outside. I’m finally caught up 141 episodes later and I hate that my summer and fall of listening to one episode after the next has finally ended. I’ve been a fan of the Lord of the Rings ever since I watched the first film when I was but the tender age of 7. Admittedly I was a bit young to sit through a movie of that length, but what started then was a family tradition with my mom, dad, siblings that has recurred every Christmas season since the first movie when there was a LOTR movie or Hobbit movie to watch. So, this series, and the books that accompany it, mean quite a bit to me. I’m working my way through the Lost Tales after having read the LOTR books and the Hobbit this year. After listening to Tom’s expert storytelling, which I will liken to the abilities of Rúmil in the canon, I can confidently say the Lorecast is the best way to consume the depth of knowledge in the Silmarillion and other collected works in a way that is beneficial, easy to understand, and serve as a treasure trove of wonderful insights into the Arda-verse. Tom, thanks for your dedication to this project. Á na márië!

I came across this podcast on Spotify and had to come to Apple Podcasts just to have it on multiple platforms and rave about it. I struggle to listen to 99.9% of podcasts. I am a reader, not a listener. THIS podcast however keeps me captivated and I have learned so much more about Tolkien's great works. Middle Earth is a major component of my personality and will come up in my conversations at least once per day. Thank you for bringing your passion and love of Middle Earth to the podcast platform. I've recommended this show to any and all who have come to me with questions about LOTR or the ROP show!

I downloaded Apple Podcasts so I could write this review! I have always been a LOTR fan but had only ever watched the movies. This year I finally started listening to the audiobooks read by Andy Serkis (highly recommend btw). I just finished the Hobbit and have started Fellowship. I had to take a break from Fellowship because I ran out of my listening hours on Spotify but still wanted to fill my time with LOTR content. Spotify recommended this podcast to me so I gave it a try. From the first episode Robots made it so engaging and easy to follow. His enthusiasm for the content matches my own. It has made my drive to work in the mornings and home more enjoyable. Thank you Robots for the content and I hope to be a Patron in the near future!

I’ve been trying to read The Silmarillion for quite some time, and it’s been very difficult for me to find the time to sit down and really read this book. I knew I couldn’t just purchase the audio book because the writing is so complex it would’ve been a nightmare to follow (also while listening in the car with my 2 year old). This is when I came across this podcast and it was everything I wanted and MORE. It’s so detailed but in a way where I can follow along and actually understand (and retain) who everybody is! I’m only on episode 17, and I cannot wait to get even deeper in this story and to hear your thoughts about ROP! THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS. This is the first podcast I have tried and I’m really enjoying it. It’s got me back re-reading the Silmarillian after a long, long time.

The detail is incredible! Keep up the great work! Maybe you could do an episode on the different swords of Middle Earth, that would be super cool!

Kind of an annoying voice… He always starts out every episode with a calm, even tone and then 5 minutes in he’s basically yelling because he’s excited about something. It’s a jarring shift in tone.

I started this podcast to prepare myself to read The Silmarillion. Little did I know that this podcast’s host, Tom, would be so passionate about the LotR and make it a zillion times better than I could’ve imagined!

I’ve found this podcast while watching season 2 of Rings of Power and not only is it great to hear the lore, but the story telling, production, ad placement, etc. is superb. Highly recommend if you’re a fan of LOTR

Can’t recommend this podcast enough! It explains the complicated lore of these books in a simple, easy to follow way! This is by far my favorite podcast, very much worth a listen.

I decided to start from the beginning again (perfect for a 16 hour flight). It’s also fun to see the “old timer” patrons. 5 stars for first time around, 5 stars for now and 5 stars for the 2nd time around. That’s 15 stars. Best podcast to come out of this age of earth!! This is best podcast ever! Robots does an excellent job making sense of The Silmarillion and now The Unfinished Tales. I love how robots possess questions for the listeners, and references to the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings books showings the listeners the connections. This podcast is a relaxing, fun and engaging. Robots is truly a master of the meaning behind Tolkien’s masterpieces and has studied not just a biased view Tolkien’s background but a truly well rounded view of every side of the story. This is extremely refreshing and I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to know the deeper meanings behind Tolkien’s work in a podcast that is not too hard to understand if you just put a little bit of effort into it!!! Keep on keeping on Tom!!!

I like Lotr and I can’t understand the silmirillian and now it makes sense

Tom’s laid-back, yet methodic approach to such a dense universe really makes it easy to consume. I’ve always been too intimidated to tackle the silmarillion or the unfinished tales but now I’m ready to accept that noble quest. Thank you robots and co. for giving me an escape during the work day. This show is a must for any fan of Tolkien’s works. I read the Silmarillion about 15 years ago with much struggle and very little appreciation. I had wanted to read it again but always remembered the difficultly I first encountered. Tom completely removes that barrier in his telling and interpretation of the story. His ability to dissect the work into modern day parlance and easy to understand segments is profound. I greatly appreciate his way of reminding us who the characters and places are along way so the listener doesn’t get lost, but rather, feels fully immersed. I recommend anyone wanting to read the Silmarillion to listen to this first. You will have a greater understanding and love for a truly remarkable work. Thank you, Robots, outstanding job!

So thankful for this podcast! I found this excellent show on my expedition traveling through New Zealand to visit all the Lord of the Rings filming locations. Needless to say it fit in perfectly with the magical landscapes and locations I got to see while geeking out on my journey. Thank you, Tom, for creating such a masterpiece!

I’m only about 6 episodes in, but this has been an awesome dive into the world of LOTR. The narrator is informed and presents the information in a way that’s super engaging. I’ve been listening while running, which has made exercising much more enjoyable. Between this and the Fantasy Hike app, I’ll probably be in amazing shape pretty soon!

I was looking for a new podcast and stumbled on this and gave it a try with low expectations. It’s been two weeks and I’ve abandoned all other shows and I’m 60 episodes deep. Like many people I think, I love the movies, read some of the books but never the Silmarillion and this podcast makes all the LOTR lore accessible to simple folks like me. *two enthusiastic thumbs up*

Normally a Spotify listener but I just had to leave this review. Around the time this podcast started is around the time I had to drop out of school to fight cancer. Every week you gave me something to look forward to. Every week I could escape reality and be immersed in Tolkien’s awesome world, with you as my guide. For the duration of the episode, I really felt like I was there, not in a hospital bed, but on the shores of Valinor or in Middle Earth, watching the events unfold. Now, over a years worth of episodes later, I have been a year cancer free and am graduating college in December. Robots, you may not know it, but for me, and many others like me, this podcast, your work, has been life changing to say the least. Words can’t express how truly awesome this podcast is…. its glory, splendor, and awesomeness can only be compared to that of a…. Silmaril!

I’ve listened to mostly every podcast out there about Tolkien and his works and this one is above and beyond the best one I have listened to.
