Hobbies #187

Welcome to Creative Banter, a creative and philosophy focused podcast where anything goes. I’m your host, Cody Schultz. Joining me is the one and only Ben Horne. Each week, we sit down to discuss something to do with photography, whether it be our feelings toward the film versus digital dichotomy or how our creativity is affected by our individual photographic approaches. Regardless what it is we discuss, it is sure to be thought-provoking and entertaining. Host: Cody SchultzCo-Host: Ben HorneMusic: The Introvert by Michael Kobrin (licensed through Pixabay)

One of my go to podcasts when driving. Still catching up (on episode 62), but always enjoy the banter.

    Refreshing
It’s so nice to listen to a photo inspired podcast that isn’t about the photos. It’s about thoughts and life. I have to wonder if some of the negative reviewers actually read the title of the podcast. BTW I am one of those guys that keeps going to the same place. I love it, it reminds me of the proverb, ‘No man steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river, and it’s not the same man.’

Listening to the nightly ritual that you have with your dog Emmy, it struck me that she has trained you very well. I’ve had many dogs now large ones but I’ve also had 5 pound Yorkies, who slept through the night. I might assure myself that there’s nothing Medical about the nighttime issues, but other than that you’re going to have to brave through the wake ups she’s giving you. I am not sure this will get better. I have 3 Chow Chows, and they can be very stubborn,as the breed is known for, my husband and I are have been trained very well to open and close the doors to let them out.

Great podcast for creativity that isn’t gear obsessed
I really enjoy podcasts and YouTube videos where I can watch or listen to photographers and their process so I can learn when I’m not out myself. Or when I just want something calming to experience related to photography. Hats off to these guys for talking about the creativity and the art of photography rather than “top lists” or gear-focused reviews. Highly recommend you add this to your list!

Calming Influence in a Mad World
Love this podcast; smart talented artists and photographers talking about their process, as well personal reflections on what their work says about them.. Very relaxing way to spend an hour.

    Artists talking art
Great discussions on creativity and digging into the “why” rather than the “how” of making. I am a painter so these conversations transcend medium. I enjoy the perspectives of both hosts and the respectful warm tone of their back and forth.
