    Newly Discovered
I just discovered this podcast and also just started listening. I’m only on the first episode and already want to go to the first place they’re talking about 🤣 I’m either going to be in BIG trouble or making a great list of places to visit.

    My fav travel podcast
There aren’t too many travel podcasts like this. Both hosts are easy and fun to listen to and they highlight places I would actually like to visit. Love this podcast!

    Pretty great podcast
This is the perfect podcast to listen to on long commutes or drives. I go between Maryland and Virginia frequently so this helps soak up a lot of the time spent in traffic on 495.

    Great Complement to Website
As an avid podcast listener at the gym, these are the perfect length and just engaging enough to keep me involved without having to hang on every word. Each episode is well-researched. Looking forward to more seasons so they can be searchable when I have a trip to plan.

Such a gem of a podcast
Similar to the small towns this podcast features, the show itself is a hidden gem. I love the details they share about places I haven’t heard about before; they inspire my desire to travel! The two hosts have such a natural rapport, I feel like I’m listening to my friends after they have returned home from a trip. Love it!

    Waste of time
I have followed and enjoyed Only in your state emails and website for years, so I was interested in this podcast. I just listened to Episode 1 and much of 2 (on Saugatuck MI) . They were awful. For example, in the one on Saugatuck the two hosts babbled on and on for 10 minutes on how cute the town was and how much people would like it and how they felt about small tourist towns, but with almost no facts or actual description. They finally started mentioning sand dunes, pubs, beaches etc. but vacuous filler statements like “how did I not know this” were still throughout. I will no longer follow this waste of time podcast.

Interesting look at “hidden” cities; hosts could be better
I’ve learned a few things about some of America’s small towns - it’s always fun to learn about towns that don’t usually get a lot of attention! However, the hosts’ “performances” could be improved. There are a lot of “that’s cool” or “neat” as responses to the other host’s description of something related to the town being discussed and sometimes awkward pauses afterward - doesn’t really add anything to the discussion. It’s obvious the hosts did their research about the towns so no problem there but it just seems like there’s a lot of time lost by the type of banter I mentioned above. Nothing wrong with banter - it just becomes a problem when there’s a LOT of it.
