Can’t say enough good about this show! I have learned so much and the humor and music mixed in makes it all the more memorable!

Sit your kids (and uninformed adult friends) down to learn the history of the Black folks they didn't want you to learn about.

Is there going to be a new season I have been missing this show since the beginning of the year. Especially with all the cultural attacks on black america and how the structure is changing!!!

I’ve heard each episode multiple times, but I can’t stop re-listening; it’s that good! PLEASE make as many episodes as Michael has content for, because this podcast is much-needed magic.

What Michael Harriot and his team are doing with this series is important work during a critical time. It’s entertaining, funny, and tuned in to the culture. I only hope the series continues and is amplified. Knowledge is power and in this imperialist capitalist white supremacy patriarchal society those in power will continue to mentally cripple and rob people from education and history. I hope people listen to this series and start researching reliable sources and question the norms and values that are instilled in poor and minority communities.

With just one episode you will understand why Black History is being suppressed. I’m looking forward to a new season!

When’s episode 19

Someone in a black tech group put me on to this amazing podcast. The first day I listened to every episode. I was into this podcast so deep, I almost got in the shower with my beats headphones..lol Thanks to all who made this podcast possible.

I love everything about this pod. Are there podcast awards? This whole series deserves the highest awards. Excellent writing, biting humor, and important knowledge. A+

I have been studying Black history a bit and I really didn’t expect to be surprised. I’m so glad I was WRONG. My favorite episode so far has Bob the Drag Queen reading a scholarly paper to 12 year olds. Absolutely the best!

As a white dude, it’s refreshing to hear Michael Harriot’s unapologetic presentation of previously white-washed history. It’s like being at a bar next to a guy that’s completely unbothered whether you like him or not, that nonetheless makes the effort to tell you a rapturous story you wish you knew years ago. I’m a fan. Furthermore, Drapetomaniax successfully maximizes the podcast format to make you feel like you’re getting your information straight from the source in a way that grabs your attention and keeps it till the end.

By far the most entertaining, well-written history podcast I’ve found this year. Always laugh-out-loud funny, and always about a true story I never would have discovered otherwise.

I love the concept and the great voice acting. It’s a very refreshing, entertaining and very Black history storytelling. I’m looking forward to more!

It's history like you never learned it. Black history by Black voices but not just for Black people. Nope, it's for us, y'all (and yes, there's language... ).

This is the only podcast that I’ve recommended to my kids that they’ve liked. This speaks the the superb story telling!

Many of us are forced to work where we may be the ONLY Black person. Draptomania would make that experience much, much more tolerable. An occasional chuckle in their presence will have them wondering … or maybe not?

If you’re looking for black history that’s incredibly interesting with some laughs thrown in, this show had me hooked from episode one. I highly recommend. I wish the episodes were longer but maybe that will come with time and popularity.

I can’t even begin to do this podcast justice in a review for the depth of information, creatively relatable presentation format, and production quality. Only thing I’m mad about is there aren’t enough episodes (yet) to binge when I need to take an entire sick day off from current caucacity. Minus one star for that, but I was limited to five anyway, so…

This podcast is one of the best I’ve heard so far. Love the mix of the particular history, with the different characters and mix of modern flavor. Added bonus is that it makes me curious about the historical people to further research and learn.

They were grateful and as a behavioral health professional was intrigued by the title and description as a mental health diagnosis.
