5 star info 3 star audio quality
Love this show, especially as a new chicken tender! My only real issue is the audio quality, particularly from Rip. He has so much good information to share, but he’ll either be way too loud or way to quiet, literally within a ten second span. Keep your mouth pointed at the microphone Rip! You’re awesome! Thanks for the great info. Would love to see an improvement in the audio quality. This is the primary reason I abandon 90% of new podcasts I listen to.

    In a World of “Influencers”…
…I’d rather listen to real poultrymen and poultrywomen! When I started raising poultry almost two years ago, I looked for resources online and quickly found out that everyone has an opinion, most of those opinions are biased and/or not backed up with facts or research as much as a desire to sell something or attract clicks for ad revenue, and a world over overcomplicating everything so that chickens are no longer able to “chicken”, as Mandelyn would say. As I’ve grown in knowledge from reading old poultry manuals and speaking with real farmers, I sought a resource that I could listen to in the car and came across PKP…and I’m glad I did! The information shared by these poultry pros is accessible and understandable without being pretentious and fussy. The focus is on growing better birds and being stewards of common sense, classic practices, updated as new information and technology has been made available…not selling or being sell-outs. And I love that they pair their Facebook and YouTube content with the podcast, so there is always a way to learn something new. Keep up the great work!

    Awesome Information
Thanks for having a great podcast. I’ve run out of episodes and look forward to the next. Again this is a great way to share information about poultry and spread awareness about our fine feathered friends. Thanks John-Woodside Loft 🥚🐣🐥
  • Excellent and episode request
    Excellent
Love your approach to poultry keeping…thoughtful Can you cover bumblefoot? I use my poultry on my micro farm to eat and help turn the compost. Bumblefoot has become an issue for me and I can’t figure out the root cause.. so would love a thorough discussion. My birds don’t get the infection on the classic bottom of their feet but through toenail infection and on their back toes.. I have changed all roosts to 2x4s and changed everything I can think of but can’t seem to shake it out of my flock for good
