Wanted to love this podcast - some of the episodes are great. But they seem to have a 10 min intro to each podcast with 5 minutes telling us to “do the right thing” and support the show financially.

This used to be my favorite podcast by far. It was a great escape from the real world into the world of adventure and the outdoors. However, now it seems every episode has some hidden agenda. Get back to your roots and out of politics.

If they would just do nature stories this would be my favorite podcast. It’s gone woke though

Dirtbag Diaries is hands down my favorite podcast. The stories are brilliantly produced and always tap into my drive for fun, adventure, and connection to nature. I love the podcast so much that after discovering them in 2022, I went back and listened to every episode they’ve produced since the early 2000s when they first started out!

My day is made when new episodes drop! Love this show and have cycled through all of the episodes at least twice. They provide an escape from my day to day and encourage me to get out and recreate! Great story telling and great people. Highly recommend!

Loved it when it was actually about adventure and nature type stuff, but the need to insert politics and the flagrant over representation of individual sexuality is a bit much. Nobody cares

The app is great but the mail is still a bit more expensive and it crashes every time I try it out on my iPhone to get a new app

This is the episode that I have been waiting for. The connection I have with the environment when I’m hunting has never been matched when I’m just hiking.

Bravo Patagonia and Dirtbag Diaries for the story about hunting, an oft misunderstood culture from the persecutive of the non-hunting outdoor community. As someone who both hunts, and skis/rides mountain bikes etc. I appreciate this story being told on this forum. Kjell's gratitude really highlights the connection to the land and animals that can only be made by participating with them at this level. Great job, thank you.

Love the show- sometimes the music on top of voices is incredibly distracting. “The Elk” was really hard to listen to in the bits where intense music was playing. Great story, though!

So much Grace and spirit in these stories. So many lovely technically whimsical, achingly soulful…tales for us all. Told so beautifully.

I just wanna show about adventure. The constant droning on about politics is very exhausting.

What can I say I love freaking myself out when I’m inside my tent with these episodes downloaded to my iPhone and listening to them before bedtime. Keep them coming! I would contribute my own but the scariest thing that has ever happened to me was The perfect round circle of a furry bear butt pressing into The wall of my tent in the middle of the night. He/she left after clapping my hands, not so scary.

I just discovered the dirtbag diaries and absolutely enjoy it. Fitz is an awesome host and the topics and guests bring some much information and inspiration. My daughter loves listening to the show with me and we listen to one every night before bed.

Used to be better, becoming too SJWy. Better to stick to the adventure.

Great outdoor stories - connecting, inspiring, and encouraging!! Full value and fun!

This show has been my connection to the outdoor community for the past few years. I’m not sure who I’d be today without having this show. The pandemic was a struggle but the ideas and creativity this podcast invokes in me has made a difference. Thanks to you all for the well thought out, lighthearted, and inspiring episodes. I come away feeling like I have friends and family I never knew I had.

Dirtbag diaries was the first podcast to hook me on the concept of podcasts. Adventure and storytelling over a broad base of areas. Now just like all bought media outlets it’s turned activist/political. I have no time for this indoctrination and programming. Go Woke, Go Broke!

The intro still gets me stoked and sometimes the episodes are really exciting and uplifting, but these are increasingly less frequent and getting really sappy. The Dirtbag diaries are now less guided by their own voice but rather what they think people want to hear.

Been listening for so long now! I think since before tep was even born! Now he’s reading stuff on the podcast! It’s crazy! My favorite episode that sticks out to me is “fueled by strawberry jam”. Y’all keep the dream alive in me! Love love love the Year of big ideas! Keep it up! Love hearing real stories of all this stuff!

Love this podcast. The smokejumper podcast was one of the best I have ever heard!

This has always been a solid storytelling posdcast, but they recently made some changes that made it much, much better. The two co-hosts are a joy to listen to, and the stories are more produced (and produced well!). But what moved me to write a review was the “Sacred Spaces - Oak Flat” episode. I knew a little about this issue, and had even taken some small actions on it. This episode clued me in and took me so much deeper into the issue. Now I really want to visit this place, and I really want to help protect it. (I called my members of Congress right after the episode finished. I am grateful that they left us with some things we could do to help.) Thank you for making this show!!

I wish there was a show about the outdoors that wasn’t pushing a agenda. I expect a show about outdoor pursuits to have environmentalist and pro public lands views, that’s great. However, this show has more then that, and it get obnoxious pretty fast. It’s for arm chair adventurers, trust fund kids and internet activists. Honestly they will probably produce a entire show someday on how to best spend your REI dividend. Lastly, They also all seem to adopt this faux dopey accent. Its a way of talking I hear from many patigucci clad outdoor enthusiasts, what the heck is the deal with that? I hope someone produces a real dirt bag podcast, about adventures who do a lot with little. Who despite obvious disadvantages still steadfastly pursue outdoor endeavors. People with real personalities. This show isn’t it.

Been with this one from the beginning and hope it never ends. Get kinda bummed at the end of every episode knowing it’ll be a couple weeks till the next.

Feels too formal, polished and maybe even slightly pretentious and cheesy. Not my cup of tea. You would think something with the term “dirtbag” would be a little more gritty and down to earth, maybe even funny and mysterious, but every episode I’ve tried has been extremely dry, predictable, uninteresting and hard to listen to.

I love listening to this podcast. It helps connect me to the outdoors and reminds me of where I belong in this world. Thoughtfully produced wonderful stories.

This podcast is really great for anyone who wants to hear about all the cool stuff going on around the outdoor community. There is a lot of good info and really cool stories shared.

I began listening to this podcast in 2012 during grad school when I had long commutes to clinical rotations. At the time I had years of catching up to do. Now I anxiously await each new episode. But oftentimes find myself digging back into the archive for a relisten - “heeeeey bear” - or sharing with friends (I’ve sent Fun Divided by Three to so many folx). Love this podcast and can’t recommend enough!

Dirtbag Diaries still centers most of their stories on the white-male-conquering-nature narrative. It’s tired: mediocre white dudes painting themselves as the star in their own misadventures. But it’s also damaging, especially when it ignores more inclusive narratives, casts women as inferior/weak (oh god that kayaking 2-parter), and indigenous lands as places to bag or summit. (Again, that kayaking 2-parter was the most egregious example. The entitlement and privilege of those bros was nauseating.)

Good listening especially when your stuck indoors. Thank you to the Duct tape then beer crew for years of quality stories.

Overall a great podcast but I really look forward to the annual Tales of Terror episodes!

This podcast episode was absolutely fantastic! Totally heart-felt and inspiring. The Dirtbag Diaries always have amazing episodes but this one just seems to really hit home for me. Awesome job!
