Bruce2326Master MasterCan stand the repeated “Master master” you somehow sound pompous and self conscious simultaneously.
-
PecktecGood showI had some issues with one particular podcast a while back. But over all the guys do a good job at presenting game information in a fun way.

J Fry in OKCGreat show with awesome hosts! This show focuses on all things tabletop gaming and building the community that surrounds it. Donald and Eric are fun to listen to, very witty, and enjoy teaching others about board games and it certainly shows here. They are definately worth a listen, you will like what you find!

ChadZauggAt HomeI feel like I’m in the same room with this team. Great insights and super entertaining. They’ve got other fun podcasts too. Thank you for making me feel at home.

Cosmonaut003fun timesI play many many board games and i love this show for help me find all i want to play next. i meet many great people after finding game groups through them.
-
pjbentBroad and in-depth coverage of the hobbyThe show has really taken a step forward by expanding the crew of contributors. Each person brings their own strengths and perspectives, and they're doing a great job of discussing topics in depth, covering hobby news, and doing quick reviews. I especially like discussions and interviews that branch out beyond board games (such crossword puzzles and escape rooms).

DogAngel12CFE is not for me.Combining CFE into the main podcast was a deal breaker, the topics are not interesting to me and are now too hard to skip past. Since then I've stopped watching

Boardgamer1001On Board GamesIf you like roll playing games or non-warming gamers, then you will enjoy this net-cast. Even if you are a war gamer it is a good net-cast and a few times they pick some Kickstarter war games. So enjoy.

SambeibeiFun and relaxing! The interaction between the hosts and guests are quite fun and very informative!

GreedoL4DI give upOn Board Games is a podcast about board games. Pros : Good sound quality. Lots of content from contributers. Cons : Episodes are too long. Don's voice is difficult to listen to because he obviously doesn't want to be there. Every other week they force you to download a sister podcast about crowd-funding, and I hate that topic. There's always a long intro that I need to scan past as they introduce themselves. I hate when podcasters add bloopers to the end of episodes. Bloopers are never... never... NEVER funny in a podcast. Conclusion : There is a lot of content in there, so I will give them three stars for that. But there's just too much about the show that annoys me, so I'm unsubscribing after 100 episodes. It's to the point where listening to an episode feels more like a chore than an entertaining experience. I should add that if Erik did the show solo each week, it would probably be a five star podcast. 12/16/15

Punk Rock DrummerThe dark side of The Dice TowerThere's a lot of honesty in On Board Games and it's very refreshing. The board game duo dishes out a great podcast that never over stays it's welcome. Not completely informative and not completely funny, they have a perfect blend of both that keeps the show engaging and flowing. Any fan of board games who doesn't take themselves too seriously ought to be listening on in. I'm always eager to hear a new episode and look forward to the reviews especially.

PapA-JCFE needs its own feed.I love On Board Games and I've been listening for a long time. I'd recommend it to anyone. What I don't like is the sister podcast, Crowd Funding Edition, being in my feed. I don't like the show, I don't like the subject. Please make CFE a different podcast feed. I'm tired of getting excited about a new episode of OBG only to realize I'm just downloading something to "mark as played" and delete.

Dice All DayConsistent and fairly informativeThis show usually manages to shine a light on at least seven or eight games per episode, good for gamers keeping an eye out for new products, while the rest of the talk tends to go over much-trod ground, producing very little new insight. One knock is something that can be said against a lot of gaming podcasts: the tiresome addition of an oddball ratings system that needs to be explained each and every episode.
-
ZheidenGood StuffEnjoying the discussion on mechanisms (not mechanics ;)) especially enjoy the ratings with your kids. Help guide me with mine. Best, Mike
-
badgermaniac1EhAfter listening to other gaming podcasts, I just found this one too dry and at times cynical for my tastes. Rating system is not very helpful as there isn't enough variance to really help potential buyers/players
-
bludjacThis is, quite simply, the one.I listen to many podcasts on many subjects, from kettlebell training to Lovecraft, but this is the one that I look forward to the most. Since other reviewers have provided detailed praise far better than I can I'll just say that if you have any interest in tabletop/board gaming you need to listen to Don, Eric, and Scott. You may not always agree with them, but they will make you think about our hobby.

mafisk67Always InterestingA unique boardgame postcast as they often just chat about a boardgame topic that can raise some interesting thoughts.

CaptJanewayBackground Noise!! ^-^ !!I love the show! I just listened to the latest podcast and was so excited to know I am still within the time limit for the contest! I've checked out your app Eric and it looks awesome!! I especially think so b/c I recently started roleplaying with my fiancé and well, I'm still trying to get the hang of it-- and I'm someone who likes to have all the different fields on the character sheet filled, not to mention a great backstory for the character! However, I'm not super creative and thus, this app is totally helpful!! Anyway, great app, great podcast-- also wanted to say, thanks Eric for doing a review of great games for preschoolers! My fiancé has two kids that age and I've been looking for some possible games to get them started in the board gaming world, an those suggestions were awesome! Not trying to butter you up! :P lol But just had to give praise for all those great things. The only suggestion I would make... I've been listening to your podcast a lot at work, I'm an artist / graphic designer so it's not hard to do-- but occasionally I do get distracted and miss the first part of a review segment, i.e. the part where you mention the title of the game. Then as i catch back up I start hearing about all the facets of this amazing game, but I have to rewind to hear the title :-/ Do you think you guys could try mentioning the title of the game again at the end of the review? Like when you give it the red, yellow, or green light? Something like, "so I give Agricola a green light." That would be awesome :) you guys are great! Keep up the amazing work! Board games rule! :) --Tiffani

Jim reedOriginal and refreshing...still!One of the hardest things to accomplish these days is to put out original content AND have it be enteresting and engaging. OBG has captuted this in their podcast and despite being one of the older gaming podcast, they still manage to keep this status show after show. Their open table discussion on gaming "topics" , not just a particular game, make you want to be right there with them, joining in on the talks. There proffesional careers also give them great insight into the hobby. They also do reviews on a variety of different genres. So, if you're tired of listening to 50 min long verbal rules explinations, try out something original and refreshing, still after almost 60 shows!

Quaker GeneralThoughtful DiscussionsOne of my regular podcasts and highly recommended for folks who want thoughtful discussions of topics related to Modern Board Games. My favorite segment is the main one at the beginning, where the three folks get into general topics about playing board games. I loved the series of segments about designing, playtesting, and trying to publish a game, but there have been tons of interesting and useful discussions. The reviews are also good, though there are lots of places you can hear similar kinds of reviews out there. All in all, a podcast well worth giving a listen if you like board games.
-
Zencore62Great stuff! This podcast is in my top three board game podcast and jumps right to the front of the listen-to-line. Every episode is full of gaming goodness!
-
beehive23Knowlegable BanterSome gaming podcasts explain rules, some are conversations, some are rants. This one is a banter between the three hosts about a particular gaming topic with some reviews or other filler tacked on. It's the knowledge and experience of the hosts that make it worthwhile.
-
Countryboy66A great board game podcastThis podcast has an excellent and knowledgable cast who discuss boardgames and all the different aspects of boardgaming. This is a must listen to if you are a boardgamer!
-
Boardgame GuyA gaming podcast that is a must listenWith the great lineup of Scott, Donald and Erik this podcast hits the mark with information and subjects that every board gamer would enjoy. I like the fact that the podcast will tackle various subjects in the gaming world, from starting a game group to a discussion on party games and many many more, each episode will be both entertaining and educational. They finish off the episodes with game reviews from the hosts. The reviews are short and to the point with enough information you need about the gameplay and their final thoughts on it.
-
TitaniumatorA staple in gaming podcastsThis podcast is a great listen. With each episode you get a variety of general discussion and specific reviews. I really like that this isn't just about reviews, the guys really do a good job of going in depth with the topic of the day. Even as I look for more podcasts to listen to, I still enjoy seeing a new OBG in my download list.

Mas_onSomething between a newb and rapid fanboyI must admit that I don't listen to many other games podcasts, but I thoroughly enjoy On Board Games. The roundtable discussions are interesting and I find the reviews helpful. I am not as serious of a gamer as some of the topics require (I don't plan on ever creating my own game or the like) but I still find the discussion of heavier topics like that interesting. The special segments on fantasy games and solo games are an added touch.

PeloriteAn exciting crash course into the world of board gamesI am a frequent listener ever since I meet Donald after he moved to South Carolina. I casually play in some of his game groups and have enjoyed the camaraderie. Although I still have a soft-spot for Monopoly, listening to this prodcast has informed me about what 'serious fun' board games be. Furthermore, it helps me understand an industry from many viewpoints, such as the designer, publisher, community organizer, teacher, and individual. I enjoy the high-brow discussion and reviews that speaks to every listener; whether it be seasoned gamer that lived the industry thru their lifetime or the child that is soon going to learn that not all dice have just six sides... Keep up the good work!

Inspected by 275Another good board game podcast. This is another good board game podcast. The updates, however, are becoming fewer and fewer, and less interesting. Looks to be that this podcast will fizzle out. Giles is a little annoying with his squeaky voice and incessant push for board games in the classroom. I also thought the segway music in the beginning episodes was better than it is in the latter episodes. Hope you guys can pull it back together.

Skeptic SteveEverything a Podcast should be.Good chemistry between host and contributors during round table discussions. Great reviews. This podcast has introduced me to many games I may have never heard of otherwise.
-
ComposerTPAmong the best. There are a few great board gaming podcasts out there. This is one of them. The greatest strength of this podcast is the they discuss a number of aspects of the board gaming life, including game groups, and various gaming situations. They also have a few hosts, which creates a good level of variety.
-
yojimbo_2000Interesting Discussions and Good InformationThis podcast is just what I was looking for. The round table discussions are interesting and informative. I also enjoy the reviews.
-
GamerChrisGreat Topics, Great Discussion! On Board Games is all about helping to build the boardgame community. They have great reviews and useful discussions of important topics in the hobby, as well as great advice about things such as starting a game group, getting your group to play your games, and getting at the real nature of game reviews. The hosts have good chemistry and are very entertaining as well. HIghly recommended for any board gamer!
-
