    Wonderful Learning Experience!
This podcast is a great example of how important the ipod and itunes are to helping spread inteligent, well thought out courses on important topics. For those who went to college years ago like myself or those wondering what a good course is capable of presenting this is the REAL DEAL. This course is beyond trying to make anybody into a Marxist. Avoid the hype and listen for yourself. And enjoy!

Wonderfully clear explanation of profitability in modern economics
Harvey uses Marx’s text to explain the mechanics of capitalism in everyday language. There is a lot of material here, but the concepts are essentially simple, at least as Harvey presents them. Do not be put off by the title. This is Marx the brilliant analytical economist, not a polemic on social engineering.

    A public service
I really appreciate the fact that Professor Harvey made these lectures public. I first read Harvey's The Condition of Postmodernity -- perhaps the most fitting contemporary follow up reading to Capital there is -- in graduate school and it changed how I see the world. These lectures demonstrate where much of that thinking originates. Harvey is a good man and a venerable critical theorist who can still engage an audience with presentations that combine deep insights with lucid presentation.
