TnhikergirlGreat informationI just started listening and I’m learning so much. Already have reviewed my lab results and have questions for my Dr. We have to be aware of what these labs mean and what we can do to improve them!

Winterfuzz55Episode on colds and flu7 meandering minutes and then saying same thing over and over. (Protein)

Utility BeeToo much self promotionYou spend too much time promoting your workshops and your personal resumes. Sometimes it’s almost 8 mins before you get to the nuts and bolts of the content, which is very informative but just gets lost in your banter with the other dietitian. Suggest that if you share your credentials do so in a 30 - 45 sec “elevator speech” in the beginning and get directly to the content, it’ll give you more time to get into the weeds so to speak, because real food is the way to improve life/healthspan.

ChezchelseachefKidsEnough with the episodes about kids!!!!

deborahtnHorrible heartburn! Not any more!I fell upon your podcast by a recommendation from Apple! The program was about gluten and heartburn. I was gobsmacked. All those symptoms were mine. Thank you so much for your great information. My heartburn has been much better with taking out the gluten from diet.

ToniBBest Public Service! My absolute favorite podcast on nutrition, long time listener from its beginning. As a retired RN, I am strong believer in their message, can’t thank them enough. A truly wonderful public service, not to be missed.

Sunflower0127One big adI listened (or tried) to the pre-diabetes episode. 10 minutes in I got my first tip - hire a nutritionist. 20 minutes in I got my second tip - buy our supplements. 26 minutes in, not food has been mentioned. Nope nope and nope.

eferry10So dry.Flat affect. Not dynamic at all.

jilliansmith.rdA dietitian's dream! This podcast is a registered dietitian’s dream!! There are a multitude of topics discussed from sleep problems to thyroid to hormonal headaches with each one being incredibly insightful.
-
amhoogbuskerNot based on scienceRDN here, The advice they are giving is only anecdotal, not science based at all.

ginspencerToo many breaksI like listening to to content but the breaks are annoying.

JehfyfjndTone Deaf and Lacking AdviceI listened to the prediabetes episode. More than half centered on scary effects of uncontrolled diabetes (not prediabetes!) I heard almost no helpful advice, and they were completely tone deaf when it came to seeking nutrition consultations even if they aren’t covered by insurance. They said that you would still get your teeth fixed even if you didn’t have dental insurance. Actually, no, most people don’t because it’s expensive, same as hiring a nutritionist. You wasted my time when I was looking for helpful information. Don’t call your episode “reversing prediabetes” if your best advice is just to hire a nutritionist.

mrs mc gonagall's sisterMrs McGonagalls sisterJust finishing up first 8 weeks of no sugar, no or low carbs diet after suffering sugars attack on joints. ( it is an eye opener of pain!) My next important step is a dietitian, for sure. Thank you for doing the podcast.
-
HoptippytopI was really excited for your contentYour content is great. Production is awful. It’s unlistenable. One person is always way louder than another and there is no equalizer. Good luck you have some smart information.

Anonie65Basically Good, But Some Factual ErrorsGood on these registered dietitians (RDs) for their hard work and enthusiasm for educating Americans about proper nutrition and eating a healthy diet. Anything that helps improve Americans’ science-based nutritional intelligence is a good thing. Now, nobody is perfect - RDs are human and don’t have to eat perfectly all the time. However, it seems a bit irresponsible to repeatedly promote “cream cheese” as a “healthy fat” when it’s a highly industrially processed food. One RD mentions on multiple episodes how she eats cream cheese in many of her meals/snacks. The RDs also mention repeatedly how often they consume deli meat. This is another highly processed food category full of excess sodium and chemicals. If these are foods that these individuals have factored into their personal lifestyles, that is their choice. However, as licensed health professionals, they shouldn’t be encouraging other people to eat these things on a regular basis. Finally, in one episode an RD said that phytoestrogens from soy gave her breast cancer. That is factually wrong and impossible. Ever since the WHI Study, many people, including highly educated healthcare professionals, have misunderstood how female sex hormones work. Very briefly, I’ll tell you that the phytoestrogens in soy are not strong enough to cause cancer. And societies that eat more soy, like Japan, have LOWER incidences of breast cancer. Please, please, please educate yourselves on female hormones before speaking about them again. Perhaps invite a hormone expert on your podcast for an episode. Or maybe just avoid the topic all together. Because you are doing women a grave disservice by spreading misinformation about such a critically important health issue. A good place for you to start is with Dr. Avrum Bluming’s book “Estrogen Matters”.
-
eliana shorwrong.spreads misinformation without any evidence to support their claims. how exactly do genetically modified organisms (no nutritional differences than any regular produce item, just allows for more affordable produce) kill the “good” bacteria in your gut microbiome? oh yea, it doesn’t.

the cool leoThank youInformative & very enjoyable, thank you.

HodgiemarieLike the content but hard to listen to.I saw this and was excited to listen to it. However, I find it hard to listen to. They talk over each other a lot and interrupted a story that I was trying to hear. I had to stop listening because I found it hard to follow.
-
DebiJenkinsSo HelpfulI found your podcast a few months ago and it has become one of my favorites. I am learning so much about nutrition and wellness. Thank you for addressing everyday health problems and how to work on fixing them.
-
Renae GomezBad infoKids anxiety/nutrition episode. Yes we need better nutrition, but it’s clear these people are not well versed in the nutrition world when their calling butter and eggs health foods.
-
504LBRDiabetesI am a new subscriber and I have enjoyed many of the podcasts shows very informative discussion. The information have help me with health issues. Thank you

JenthetalkerCravingsI understand the low carbs for cravings yet one size does not fit all. When she mentioned the oatmeal, she didn’t suggest adding nuts for protein so there is not a reaction of only carb meal. It is not all or nothing. Especially for a vegetarian like myself. I will not be eating any meat/flesh foods or eggs! I strive for moderation and not excluding a whole macro category.
-
learnerprofAmazing. Number of unfounded claims is amazing. The podcast about diet and depression has so many unfounded claims, logical fallacies, and just plain bad information that I will be using it in one of my college- level Neuroscience courses as an example of pseudoscience. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Oil&WaterSugar does not increase CholesterolMy liver produces all the cholesterol I need for cell functions. Podcast said sugar increases cholesterol. Podcast need to provide biochemistry proof that glucose will increase my cholesterol. Podcast needs to state specific studies to substantiate it’s claim that sugar/glucose increases cholesterol. Eating excess animal fat and muscle increases my cholesterol.
-
c the rdnNopeThis RDN could not get through even one whole episode. This is not science based information. Shame on you all

bookishninjaI like this a lot with a few concernsLet me preface by saying I agree with, and appreciate, most of the material on this podcast. My concern really comes with the emphasis of exclusion. I just finished listening to the episode regarding the alleviation of joint pain. While they did touch on what you could take to alleviate it, it get like there was more concentration on excluding pastas and gluten. Now, they did mention ‘processed’ carbs should be excluded, but why wasn’t there more emphasis on choosing those whole wheats or protein based pastas? Not everyone has a gluten intolerance, and complex carbs are hugely beneficial for those who aren’t sensitive to gluten. I’ve never dealt with joint pain, but being in my mid thirties, I’m looking for prevention. I guess I just wish that the topic was broached without such an emphasis on exclusion. It’s the recipe for an eating disorder. Overall I enjoy this podcast and will keep listening. They know what they’re talking about. But just be aware of some of the subject matter.

Tangerine2017Changed my Life!I started listening to Dishing Up Nutrition 6-7 years ago, it completely changed my views on food. I was so concerned about calories and macros but never really consider the QUALITY of those calories. Eating real food in balance - so simple and life changing. Like they say, eat real food to have real health. I agree 100% - feeling amazing and have such peace with food.

Newbie to the ShowSo Helpful!!I just listened to the podcast "Foods and Vitamins to Support Your Immune System." So much great information...and loved that they shared easy to make recipes. And I especially loved that they talked about how it has to be "food first," not just a bunch of vitamins.
-
K.C. BeasterLove Dishing Up NutritionI love this podcast! Dishing Up Nutrition is a show which provides easy to follow guidance for eating a real foods diet. As the hosts say, “Food is the best medicine.” Love it!
-
12234747gdidiekwysaj252748Diet Culture / Weight CentricI have listened to several of these podcasts and they push their products on you, promote restrictive behavior by saying “don’t eat this or you’ll gain weight” and “eat this to lose weight” and “here’s our magic product that will make you skinnier and healthier if you just take a pill”. Obviously I’m overgeneralizing, but that is the message they’re giving. Also, “nutritionists” have no credentials and no accredited education to prove they know what they’re talking about? They use words that people associate negatively to make certain foods sound bad to scare people into their idea of “healthy eating.” Would not recommend.
-
claffpListen to more than onePeople need to listen to more than one podcast to give a review. There are many great podcasts on here that are worth listening too!
-
3m;)UnrealisticI have listened to a few episodes and I find that this podcast promotes restriction and solely focuses on weight loss as opposed to getting healthy, feeling well, and finding balance. Would not recommend.
-
KT is coolOatmeal is bad for you?As a runner, oatmeal is my go-to breakfast. The nutritionists in this podcast said oatmeal is bad for you...did I miss the memo? I’m curious how they came to this conclusion but they never elaborated.
-
ValHB2020Not for meI initially enjoyed the listen - however the mentions of animal protein without an alternative mentioned made me rethink this one, given I am a plant-based individual. It felt sponsored by the meat/dairy industry...unsubscribed.
-
GkMerrSounds like scripted ads.I tried to get through a couple of these podcasts but couldn’t do it. One sounded like they were just having it to push their products. The other one, one of the hostesses was reading her script; it was like watching a show with poor acting.
-
Nicole Knecht, MS, RDN, LDOil misinformationIf you’re going to recommend butter, lard, and bacon grease over canola oil because it’s “refined” you’d better have some science to support it.
