I am new to Orthodoxy. Father Evan’s explanation of the faith is thoughtful and thorough. I appreciate his calm demeanor and patience when answering questions. I am from a Protestant background and am seeking a deeper, more meaningful relationship with Christ. I love this program and am going to continue to listen and learn. Thank you Father Evan.

I love this show and have learned so much through it. I come from an evangelical background and have started attending an Orthodox church with my family. We are not yet Orthodox but are on the way. I credit this program with being surpassingly influential in this journey. I am a convert to orthodox Christianity. This is my favorite program that airs on Ancient Faith radio. Fr Evan is unafraid to give honest answers but they’re always grounded in love and reverence of holy mystery. Excellent work!

Fr. Evan is a true pastor and he navigates a wide range of questions regarding the Apostolic faith with grace and humility. He holds the tension beautifully between the Orthodox Christian Faith and the western mindset by introducing the timeless truths found in the Church and removing obstacles so anyone can access their beauty and transformative power. Among what can sometimes be a mine field of “Orthodox” information on the web, this podcast is a safe and sober introduction to the faith delivered with patience and compassion.

There are a lot of scholarly and academic types out there who can handle all the questions that come at The Orthodox Church, but what is often missing from their voices is the love and compassion of someone who deeply cares about how wisdom is applied to the life of the individual person asking the question. Fr. Evan not only has exactly that, but handles even the toughest of problems with grace and mercy—something we can all learn from.

I listen to Orthodoxy Live faithfully—and have now gone all the way back and listened to all the episodes since 2012. Several things make this podcast special: Father Evan, who calls himself a simple parish priest, is remarkably informed on the details of Orthodox doctrine. Listening regularly will provide a theological education. Secondly, Fr. Evan takes as much time as it takes to fully respond to each question. There is never the sense that he needs to move on to the next caller. Finally, Fr. Evan’s love for the Church and the Orthodox faith shines through every episode—and is contagious. While I am here, I highly recommend going to the website of Fr Evan’s parish (St. Spyridon’s in Loveland, Colorado), and listen to his other podcasts—particularly the studies of the Gospels. They are—for want of a more Orthodox adjective—addictive.

I am always impressed by Fr. Evan’s ability to address complex issues on the spot and provide meaningful answers. While many questions become frequent fliers on the show, Fr. Evan’s pastoral approach to the individual caller makes every episode unique.

I appreciate the ministry of Fr. Evan so much. He is one of my primary sources for answering my questions about walking out the Orthodox Christian life. I highly recommend all of his podcasts!

I've been listening to Orthodoxy Live from the beginning and love the show and format. This isn't a stuffy, preachy podcast but a real open dialogue with questions on a broad range of topics. Calls come in from all over the World...from Orthodox and non-Orthodox...young and old. Very enjoyable!
