    My First Listen
A friend of mine suggested I take a listen so I finally listened. I appreciate your commentary on our current situation. You seem to be fair and accurate. I would like to stress, however, that most of the people I live with and spend time with would be considered progressive and we are not all feeling hopeless. More accurately, we are feeling anger, but we call our legislators, we protest and we stay on top of what is happening. We also keep reminding each other that despair is privilege and so we work really hard to not get stuck there. But thank you, I look forward to other episodes.

    95% deconstructive
I come to this podcast occasionally for a differing viewpoint. But what I find is a group of whiny, negative individuals who obviously think very highly of their own thoughts. I expect better but it rarely happens.

Good grief!! Mr. Vischer has changed the focus of this show. It's his show. Adios.

    Great podcast
Discovered you all during the pandemic, as our church community was crumbling, in response to COVID restrictions and the murder of George Floyd. I greatly appreciate the community you have created! Thank you! You have helped me stay hope-filled and not so alone in the way I understand how God is asking me to be in the world.

    Pushing you to pay
Remember when Phil used to offer podcasts for free? Not anymore. All they seem to have is a paid option. It was good while it lasted.

    Thank you!
Holy post crew, Thank you very much for your content from podcasts, YouTube, and other social media posts. You have really got me thinking more about how I should be viewing political issues and how to be more centered and Christ like on different issues. I found myself leaning a little too far Right šŸ˜¬ on the political issues, I actually went through my own feed and started unfollowing groups of people and hard right media companies. So thank you for what you guys do and fun content you provide. May God bless you guys! Thank you!

Thank you, from the bottom of myā€¦ butt?
As a born and raised Catholic, who has become rather frustrated with religion(s) and ESPECIALLY the Christian Nationalist movement, a friend recommended your podcast a few weeks ago, and when I say I look forward to your weekly episodes that is the understatement of the year. THANK YOU for being a sane and truly biblical- and Christ-based voice in the midst of a lot of ā€œnoise.ā€ You bring so much peace to my weary soulā€¦ and Iā€™m not sure who says you need to be more serious, but laughing along with you brings deeply needed joy to my heart.

    Faithful Christian Witness
A faithful, thoughtful, and nuanced Christian testimony for these fraught times! For the past five years, I have been encouraged by the Holy Postā€™s steadfast commitment to searching after Godā€™s heart for how Christians should respond to challenges facing our country and the nations.

    A favorite!
Iā€™ve been listening for years and this podcast has helped me feel so much less alone as an Evangelical Christian. And please donā€™t stop News of the Butt! We all need a bit of fun and humor! (Sorry, not sorry, Kaitlyn!)

Iā€™ve been meaning to write this review for awhile. I just think at this point in the show the theme song is due to change to maybe šŸŽµand usually KaitlynšŸŽµ or šŸŽµand most likely KaitlynšŸŽµ Seriously though sheā€™s here to stay I think! I love the show - keep doing the good work!

    Blind spots
I have listened for years. The team continues to point to the speck in one parties eye but canā€™t see the plank in the party they support. I wish they kept a centrist approach. They want to sway evangelicals towards the left but they are not honest about the issues equally un-Christian that the left support making it hard to reason with trump supporters. They believe CNN talking points as ā€œfactsā€ and have not really actually investigated opposing claims. Some people have looked at both sides of issues and made decisions contrary to this shows views. I would pay money to hear a series of episodes where they actually brought in guests who oppose their left leaning stances. But no we will keep hearing sky sound like a cnn reporter and Katelynn him in agreement. You guys act as if catholic charities are angels. Look into itā€¦ itā€™s not all roses and ā€œhelping the needyā€.

    When you find your people
Truly my favorite podcast. I found it during the pandemic and it quickly became such a balm to my soul to no longer feel isolated or crazy in some of my nuanced perspectives as an evangelical who more and more felt like I didnā€™t belong in this group anymore. I look forward to it every week & just so appreciate the humility, theology, knowledge & humor they bring to so many relevant topics of today.

Outstanding podcast that truly seeks to follow the example of what Jesus ACTUALLY taught.
This is an outstanding podcast for open-minded Christians who seek to model their lives after the things that Jesus ACTUALLY taught and modeled, according to the biblical account. The negative views of this podcast are primarily from people who have conflated their religious pursuits with their political opinions, and now can see little to no distinction between them. Phil, Skye, and Kaitlyn donā€™t marry their religious beliefs to their political opinions, but they absolutely use those beliefs to inform their political conclusions and actions. As, I believe, Christian should. Are they more critical of the Christian and political ā€œrightā€ than the ā€œleftā€? Probably, but that is only because they have spent more time in conservative Christian culture than in liberal circles in their lives. So they are following Jesusā€™ admonition to remove the log from their own eye before trying to remove the speck from their neighborā€™s eye. Judgmental churches and political parties would be wise to follow their example. Both my knowledge of ACTUAL biblical teachings (uncoupled from political biases) and my faith in the supremacy and love of God has increased by listening to this podcast. I highly recommend to everyone.

    conversations about ā€œthoughtful Christian livingā€
I appreciate the wit, wide range of topics, and interesting guests. Weā€™re exposed to current events, pop culture, and literature through a biblical lens. The hosts hit serious topics without taking themselves too seriously. In my top 3 podcasts discovered in 2024.

    News of the butt
This podcast has been so helpful in keeping me up to date on all of the butt-related news I could be missing if it werenā€™t for the good graces of Phil. Very deep and eye opening conversations on all things related to butts. I will say the butt conversation does lean a bit far left for my taste. Too much time spent criticizing the butts of the right wing, not enough time spent on the plank in your own butt. In all seriousness this is an amazing podcast and most of the recent negative reviews are because we just came out of an election. Please never stop the news of the butt. Sorry Katlyn.

    Use wisdom before listening
The crew is entertaining and I know they clearly tickle the ear with their banter. Their theology is often shallow (Kaitlyn being the most theological nuanced and sensitive even if her stated conclusions donā€™t seem to be very well reached based on the story telling but I donā€™t know her so that is only a comment about how things are explained). They often have things to say against conservative Christians be it theologically or not. The insensitivity (and often abusive talk) towards that portion of Christs church is sad and unsettling. For example, Hal Lindsey dies and instead of speaking about some of the good the brother did, they spent their time making jokes and casting aspersions. Yes they were right to talk about his book but they did so in a way that they donā€™t fully believe they will be with the man for eternity. Unfortunately that behavior does gain a following. Especially since they often donā€™t state where they land, but just show openness for positions that are Biblically shaky. As part of the new narrative of painting everything in American Christianity underneath the current cultural veneer, they often take Christian beliefs and paint them as American White Evangelicalā€”which is exceedingly sad. For you Christians or seekers who feel you are on the way out of Christs church, though they target this podcast for you, it is not good for your soul. Now, for those Christians politically leaning left with some issues (not all), this podcast will support a lot of your suspicions against the right but it might not give you a holistic balance. For politically (historical left) and a bit better balance I would suggest a non Christian podcast called Honestly with Bari Weiss.

Too ā€œeliteā€, obvious left leading and Condescending
I started listening to the Holy Post about 2 years ago after Skye came to visit our church. Gradually I found out that evangelicals were all hypocrites. The the sarcasm and disgust these past few months about those who did not accept their obvious political view point. Apparently our country should have no border- how about Laken Riley?, and why not vote for a presidential candidate who believes tax payers should fund gender transformation on prisoners? I guess Jesus would want that too. Oh, and thereā€™s the fact of people fleeing ā€œblue citiesā€ for better fiscal responsibility and law enforcement. To be clear, I was no fan of either candidate. I am also not a ā€œlow informationā€ individual but college educated with a masters. Anyway - your attitude needs a reset as well as having on other guests who provide an alternative viewpoint.

    Leftists Posing as Prophets
Been listening almost weekly since 2019. What has become clear is that Skye and Phil are progressive apologists poorly disguised as third way prophets. Too badā€¦they had a good thing going while it lasted.

    Disappointed
I wish yā€™all would have a guest on that might have voted differently, so that you could understand instead of theorizing why. Give you 2 stars because at least I get a variety of views of why you believe differently.

    Canā€™t listen these clowns anymore
This used to be a really good podcast. Skye is a good speaker and author, and his books are generally very thought provoking. They've had a lot of interesting guests through the years, but in the last couple of years itā€™s become unlistenable. They are so blatantly one sided, so quick to punch right, but never give even the slightest critique of the left. Itā€™s become an echo chamber, and I might as well be watching The View. And Iā€™m not really sure why Phil is actually on the show. Heā€™s never serious, never adds anything meaningful to the conversation, heā€™s always trying to crack jokes, but they always flop. The only bright spots on the show are Kaitlyn and Esau, but they have their own podcasts now, so you can listen to them without Skyeā€™s sanctimony and Philā€™s terrible jokes.
  • Number Two.
    Obvious who you voted for
The most recent post about how Trump won was pretty left leaning and pretty obvious you more than likely voted for Harris. The tenor of the podcast was that you were not just surprised he won but sad he won. Lot of slander and pejorative words to describe Trump like ā€œauthoritarian fascistā€ etc. Donā€™t see the balance others refer to with this podcast. One of Harrisā€™ key campaign pillars was aggressive pro abortion. Scratching my head how a believer could support this
  • Texas Red Beard Realtor
    David French again?
Itā€™s fascinating that David French is still being invited as a guest or still writing columns when his opinions have been proven wrong so many times. All of his prognostications about the first Trump term were wrong. All of his statements about Trump during his presidency were proven wrong. And the bleeding has never stopped. Itā€™s really like Trump stole Frenchā€™s baloney, cheese product, and white bread sandwich at lunch 55 years ago, and French has never moved on.

    Nope!
If I wanted to listen to a leftist podcast I got tons of thoseā€¦ I donā€™t really view these guys any longer as honest and unbiased. The church politics podcast was at least more honest in their after election discussion as wellā€¦

    Podcasters for sale
Iā€™ve been listening for over a year and originally started listening because I grew up on VeggieTales and loved the nuanced opinions. But I find it ridiculous and sad that the man who told me ā€œGod made you special and He loves you very muchā€ as a child would now chastise and ā€œlamentā€ the fact that I didnā€™t support a presidential candidate who wanted wholesale genocide of humans in the womb. And by the way, Iā€™m not a ā€œlow informationā€ or single issue voter.
  • Swadecu
    Political dishonesty
Talking about the Trump rally but ignores that Harris said if you believe "Jesus is king", you don't belong at her rallies, but somehow you are supporting that or just ignoring it? You are also extrapolating to a huge degree by what few people believe. Sound like TDS and not rationality or balance.

    Itā€™s gotten too serious!
I love The Holy Post podcast. Iā€™m really listening from the first episode to all the way through and I love it so much. I just feel like itā€™s gotten way too serious and thereā€™s not that funny fun loving little tidbit in there that I always enjoy in the beginning episode.

    Why Not Be Hopeful?
There is so much beauty and hope in the Bible and in the Christian faith! And in this world! And in the Church. Why focus on discouraging topics and points of view? Why argue? The Christian podcasts I listen to that bring about fruit in my life focus on encouraging and strengthening, often through Scripture and testimonies or wise teaching. That is what builds our faith. We need to be mindful to fill our minds with what is nourishing.

    Same, Reasonable Balance
I have felt so grateful that there are other Christians who feel like I do about politics, and what it means to be a Christian in our world today.

    Woke Christianity
I used to listen to this podcast and it was a little left leaning. Listening to their most recent podcast was just infuriating. Talking about anyone who votes republican as a bad person. Not one time talking about the other side or their stances and lies. Please donā€™t pretend this is a Christian podcast. Itā€™s so gross.

    Constructive Critique
Update: Iā€™m unsubscribed and donā€™t know if Iā€™ll return anytime soon. Theyā€™re just as bad as the conservatives they loathe I love the Holy Post. Iā€™m a weekly listener. It provides a great foil to many other Christian political podcasts and voices. Also, itā€™s hilarious. As of late, Iā€™ve grown tired of only really hearing about Christian Nationalism on this podcast. I get it, CN is bad. Trump is bad. But can you talk about something different for like a week? If CN and trump disappeared tomorrow, what would you talk about? Just like I stopped listening to The Briefing years ago because Mohler only ever talked about LGBT and abortion, I donā€™t want to hear the exact same thing from the HP post every week. CN is not a new phenomenon in church history. It wonā€™t destroy the world or America. And if it does, why does that matter? Just try something else for a bit please šŸ™šŸ» This podcast would also massively benefit from either having someone co-host who doesnā€™t agree on everything the others hosts do, or from more frequent interviews of Christians with varying views. Often the show feels like an echo-chamber, which is sad:/ EDIT: was hoping that as more reviews like this one were coming in, theyā€™d address this or maybe course correct or in the very least, bring on differing opinions, but still nothing. I was a weekly listener first time I reviewed the podcast but that is becoming less and less

    Wokeness has ruined Phil
Phil has turned into a weak woke ā€œChristianā€. Recently this show attacked Matt Walsh for his new film. The fact is, these pastors are wanting us as Christian to not fight against sin and oppression and instead turn our head and ignore evil. Be forewarned.

ā€¦it got so political. I used to love listening to this unique Christian commentary. I got introduced to ideas and people that enriched my spiritual progress. Top tier comedy & Christianity content
Iā€™m forever grateful to have found this podcast. Itā€™s hilarious, thoughtful and educational. Who knew you could have all three? I do enjoy some NotB, sorry Kaitlyn, and the banter is one of my favorite parts. We all need a little levity in our lives. The hosts bring thoughtful perspectives, and Iā€™ve benefited from listening to these different points of view. Highly recommend!

    I love the Holy Post
Iā€™ve been listening to this podcast for the past couple of years. My faith has gone through growth the past 4-5 years, and increasingly I have found myself as a Christian with no political or evangelical home. I find myself somewhere in the ā€œmiddle/moderateā€ of so many extreme opinions, and often the Holy Post has resonated with my own thoughts and observations. Iā€™ve read some of the criticisms aimed at THP, and I just want to say - I LOVE Phil. I love his banter and humor, and if it wasnā€™t for him the show would get way too serious, way too fast, all of the time. Donā€™t get me wrong - I love the whole team, but appreciate Phil. His humor and banter with Skye and Kaitlyn is what keeps me coming back. They tackle current events, but do it with some levity. Thank God. If I want to listen to serious, depressing news I can just turn on my tv. Do I agree with everything they say theologically or politically? Absolutely not. But I appreciate their attempt to tackle hard issues.
