If You Love The Rookie, You’ll Love This Podcast
ABC’s official “The Rookie” weekly companion podcast, hosted by super-fans Nick and James!

    Best Podcast Since The Rookie!
Ever since I binged all six seasons of The Rookie, my life has been dull, empty and meaningless… until I found this podcast! Knowing that Nick Mason also shares my love for The Rookie and all things movie, comics, and tv shows related, I have found joy and purpose again. Keep up the good work!

Is my favorite show I’ve never seen. Also looking forward to that snake eyes review.

My b*tt hole is sore from all the comic book news
It’s like listening to the parents from Bluey explain the TV show “The Rookie” but less wholesome. 5 stars.

    Incredible
Incredible Bobsledding podcasts, plus they occasionally talk about movies and have pretty good takes.

Shifts the hierarchy of power in the podcast universe
An absolutely incredible listen week to week! You never know what our favorite boys down under will get up to next whether it be talking about comic books, movies, or comic book movies! The only way this whole operation could be any better would be if ol James and Maso finally reviewed the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson classic “Black Adam” on their flagship review series “Caravan of Garbage”.

    Longest Listener
Started listening to the boys when I was 3 years old. I just moved into the Linwood retirement home at the request of my grandchildren. This podcast has been the soundtrack of my life the whole time.

A welcome break from all the chaos.
The Daily Planet is the newspaper in the fictional city of Metropolis from the Superman comic books. This is the lighter entertainment focused weekend edition of that newspaper. The people of Metropolis need something to distract themselves from the misery of living in a city that is constantly under attack from supervillains and alien monsters. This weekly edition focuses on such things as local sports teams, upcoming school events, concerts, bar & restaurant reviews and any news about local theater productions. The craziest thing is it’s all written up by two woke bros from England.

    Life saving
These guys saved my life. Found myself in a wild situation and remembered some advice that James and Maso gave a while back. "Don't accidentally run into a tennis shoe. Also don't accidentally run into a MURDEROUS CLOWN." I didn’t, and I didn’t. I’m here today because of these guardian angels.

The podcast we need these days.
Look, we kinda screwed the pooch here in America this week so it’s good to have an escape from how terrible things might be. James and Maso are hilarious, insightful, and endlessly entertaining. Whether it’s movie news, superhero debates, or random tangents, their chemistry makes every episode a joy. Also, the movie about the video game that was a recruitment tool for space aliens they didn’t know the title of was the Last Starfighter. I didn’t email or tweet it, but there it is.

Isn’t this what we’ve always dreamed about, Mark!
Can you believe OUR Indiana Hoosiers football team is so good!?! If only we knew that all I needed to do was have a son and then IU would be good… Hope all is well in Iowa. Best, Luke

Bet James doesn’t see this review
Been listening since 2016 and can’t decide if I like the show or not. Guess I’ll have to keep listening until I figure it out. 🧡

Please Stop Talking About Snake Eyes
I am 548 episodes in and all I’ve heard these two Australians talk about is the hit movie Snake Eyes. I’m beginning to think they’ll never talk about the blockbuster event starring very normal man Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Red Notice. They’re really missing out on a superb film and an equally super Tequila brand.

Doing my part by leaving a 5 star review to help the weekly planet beat Rich Roll’s numbers

Only consistent thing in my life
I’ve been listening for 8 years. If I had to choose one podcast to listen to for the rest of my life — it’d be this.

    The only good podcast
I started listening to this podcast freshmen year of high school, I graduated college last year. These two knuckle heads basically raised me! And i turned out mostly fine

    Where IS IT.
Writing a review for ONE reason. In multiple episodes, I hear James or maso mention video or that if we can’t “see them, so-and-so is doing this”. But I’ve looked everywhere and there is no video version of this podcast!? I need to know if there is a video version that I’m missing out on! But five stars all around keep up the podding!

    Amazing Australian Boys
I’ve been listening to the Pod for over 4ish years now and I’ve got to say that James and Maso are perhaps the funniest Australians, or even podcasters/youtubers i’ve ever heard. Literally woken up my family at 2am laughing way to loud at their bits. 10 stars out of 5.
  • Milkman988
The Funniest Podcast I Listen To
I've listened to these two for years; the have genuinely smart and balanced takes on the films and shows they review, as well as the greater landscape of media and entertainment overall. But that is secondary to the fact that the comedy that comes from their quick wit and phenomenal chemistry is fantastic and always hilarious. This podcast could be about anything and it would still be great!

    This show broke my brain
It’s been years since the Westworld bit stopped, but I still hear it at the end of the ‘What are we reading/what are we gonna read’ theme. Help me. P.S. The podcast is pretty good.

    Great Show
Absolutely amazing, the only Aussie guys to go to if you want red hot comic book movie news shooting up your butthole. I listen to it at work and casually and I can’t count the amount of times I’ve burst out laughing. Keep up the great work. P.S. Grab dat gem

    Very good but…
It’s called The Weekly Planet and they almost never talk about planets! Full refund please.

Aussie slang is corrupting my soul
Recently realized I unconsciously start adopting terms/humor styles/phrases from podcasts I really enjoy. After years of listening to these 2 young gentleman, I’m starting to sound like the b*stard child of my NYC accent mixed with Aussie slang. For that reason alone I’m forced to give them 5 stars (1 for very satisfied, 5 for very dissatisfied). Shame on you boys! In the words of Bird Captain America “you need to do better!”
  • Meerfish
    Almost perfect
Please ask someone to fix your YouTube playlist for the weekly planet episodes so they start with the oldest one instead of the newest one!

    Triple zero greek yogurt
I’m writing this 5 star review to let James know that you should really add some Greek yogurt to your smoothies, it adds protein and a better texture. Side note, I love the show and you’ve made me respect my Australian friends accent even more. ❤️

    Wavin’ for Kraven
Been listening to this podcast for about ten years. It’s fine!
  • Twhdifne
    Just as good as Ocean’s 11 (1960)
This podcast is a lot like the Rat Pack’s Ocean’s 11. Just a couple of lads who are friends in real life, recording long takes of them chatting with each other, and not much happens but it’s still by and large a good time. Also they lit $6 million on fire even when they easily could have prevented that from happening.

Perfect Show for 18-34 year olds!
Long time listener, first time taking time out of my day to write a review. I’m currently 36 from Pennsylvania, but found this show around 7-8 years ago and it has gotten me through my first couple hours of work on Mondays ever since. Nobody likes Mondays, but these 2 Australian blokes grow on ya and you will help make the monotony of life less unpleasant. (Also, 18-34 year olds are the most coveted target demographic for potential advertisers… wink, wink)
  • Hex182
I often wrong but not about this
This show is funny. Dare I say delightful? Be prepared to be stared at in public as you laugh out loud listening to this show. These fellas talk funny with their wild accents, and I’m American, that’s sayin’ something. In spite of that, these whacky Aussies know their movies. Nick and Mason, who I thought were brothers, have amazing chemistry. The feature special guests, talk comics, do reviews of past franchise, plow through the horrible sequels the industry spawns, discuss books, and all forms of pop culture they can stomach.

This is a very good show.
This show is very good. I’m delighted by the very good episodes I listen to every week. I am absolutely enamored by the very good content mine on Big Sandwich dot co. I think it’s all very good. It’s so good that I listen to every piece of very good content multiple times. Sometimes I have to sandwich my very good content consumption in between my viewings of the very good movie Red Notice. Very good indeed.

    Yaaaaaaaay!!!!!
This podcast makes me hope that in the near future Tom Holland and Jason Statham will be cast in a movie together, in the hope that, as part of their press junket, some Weekly Wackadudu that has risen through the ranks in Hollywood will play clips of their impersonations from past episodes of the show, all while Tom and Jason are enjoying delicious glasses of fresh milk, such that when the clips are played they both laugh so hard they shoot milk out of their respective noses, and no one’s feelings are hurt because it’s all in good fun, and they turn to the camera and urge people to set aside petty differences and make the world a better place, the end.

    A happy little accident
I thought this was an Applebees.
  • bsmoley
    More subtle than you think
This used to be a podcast where the two hosts just tried to slyly squeeze the word “grub” into casual but informative comic book movie conversation. Now, however, it is a podcast where the two host try to subtlety slip the word “crook” into these conversations. Either way, they’ve earned 5 stars. Must be nice.
  • thekevincline
    Worst podcast ever
Used to be good but it has gone way downhill. They refuse to call Twitter by its real name. And for some reason they stopped doing the best part where the one British guy used to say “Westworld” during the opening theme song. For some reason I can’t stop listening after 30 years.

    Big Fan
5 stars for James paying $31 to see Boarder Lands so I didn’t have to. I’ve been listening to the Weekly Planet since 2014, James and Mason are great. This podcast has become a regular part of my life and I’m happier for it. I also love the Mr. Sunday Movies YouTube channel, I look forward to shows like Caravan of Garbage every week with great segments like “Thoughts and Prizes” I hope one day Mason gets that prize. Anyway, 5 stars, thank you for the years of entertainment. Snake Eyes review next week?

    Review from the future (2032)
I remember when I first started listening to this way back in 2024. Can’t believe they’re still as mildly funny as ever!

    Better late than never
Great podcast! Longtime fan. I remember searching apple podcast for nerd movie stuff right around when BvS was announced. Started listening around episode 3 or 4 I think. Always a great time consuming all there content. Feel a little bad that Ive been a fan for a decade now and just getting to the 5 star review but better late than never I suppose. Great show, always puts me in a better mood. 5 STARS!

    Wonderful
I cannot believe you missed the obvious joke of every time Batman shows up someone says, “I thought you’d be bigger.” Right? Right? Hello?

Not as dumb as it seems
These guys come across as uncaring morons, but no one could be so consistently funny and insightful for so long without putting in a ton of time and effort. You’re not fooling me!
  • Waddles95@
